Walked in and was immediately greeted by the friendly staff. Servings are pretty generous. We got the Sisig and lechon kawali and I also checked in for a free calamansi juice. My stomach was definitely happy at the end of the meal. I loved that the Sisig was nice and crunchy w/a little bit of heat from the jalapeños. I don’t know what sauce they brought out with the lechon, but it was so delicious. It was like mang tomas, but looked and tasted a little different. I’d recommend this place if you’re craving filipino food and around the area!

I was pretty sad to learn that Sinugba had closed. It had been a go to place when I had been a student at SFSU eons ago. I even had my college graduation dinner there. Now Chibog occupies the space and am so happy because the food is just as good or better than the previous occupant. We ordered the Ensaladang Talong(grilled eggplant with tomatoes, onion and shrimp paste on the side), bbq chicken, Pinakbet, and pancit bihon. Everything was so delicious, fresh, and well made. The prices are a little on the expensive side for a la carter if you compare it to Chinese food so you might be better off ordering the –ilog dishes(meat + garlic rice + egg).

*heart emoji* Great sisig, GREAT kare kare(the best I’ve had in a REALLY long time, had some tang to it, my friends and I were fighting over it). Garlic rice was a wee bit bland and a little on the wet side for me, but portion sizes for all the food = very generous and made with love. Though I’m not gonna lie i wish there were more kare kare in the pot. Ahem. A quality restaurant versus the type of place that leaves the food sitting out in warmers all day collecting flies and reducing down to artery clogging sadness. Longanisa is interestingly more like bbq /less saucy/sweet; I liked this but am not gonna lie that I wish there were both options. Their version is what I would call higher quality in terms of meat, size, and flavor, but it doesn’t have that sticky sweet red dye thing going that I(ashamedly) love. Great service, family-run and owned, you feel the pride and it shows in the food. Also, next door to … THEHOUSEOFSILVANAS. I love silvanas with all my heart, oh! And Chibog’s has totally featured silvanas as a dessert, too. Jooyyyyy.

Taste:4 Price:3 Size:4 Service:4 Filipino food is bomb! Best sizzling sisig I’ve had in the Bay so far. Goes great with Garlic Rice! Lechon was not as great as I expected. Compared to Chinese roast pork, the Lechon was deep fried, tougher, and drier. The fish sisig was as flavorful as the sisig, but a little dry for my taste. Be careful not to choke on the tiny bones in the fish. It looks like they removed all the bones, but a few tiny bones are hidden in the mashed fish. P. S. The portions are bigger than I thought. Had to save the rest for takeout.

Amazing Filipino food, just slightly pricey. Setting: Kind of hard to get to because you go through a small entrance and it looks like there’s nothing there. But drive a little more, and there’s lots of parking and restaurants to eat at! Chibong itself is very modern and clean. The restaurant is rectangular shaped with lots of tables, which are good for those large Filipino parties! Service: All Filipino servers. Which means authentic Filing food. They were super fast at bringing out the food. Food: The lumpia, of course, was amazing. It didn’t taste as greasy and unhealthy as other lumpia dishes I’ve tried. The bistek was also great, especially with the pancit. Honestly, the pancit was only okay because it wasn’t super flavorful. But with some lemon on top, it’s better. I love that this place uses a portable device(not sure what it’s called) to pay the bill. I’ve never seen that before!

I am not a big connoisseur of Philippino food but I do love me some deep fried pork belly and chicharon. This was definitely the highlight of my meal at this small restaurant in a strip mall. We had: — Chicharon Bulaklak(deep fried pork ruffle fat). This is basically crispy fried pork skin. The most outer layer forms a ruffle as it is fried. They were very fresh and tasty but as you can imagine, you can’t eat too much given the richness. These are thinner than the pork rinds and oh so satisfyingly crispy. — Lechon Kawali(seasoned deep fried pork belly). This pork belly is cooked perfectly crispy with tender morsels of lean pork below the tasty fat layer. I didn’t think sauce was necessary at all it was so well flavored — Longanisa(grilled pork sausage): very flavorful sausage that is both sweet and salty but not too fatty. — Garlic rice: get a bowl! It was not overly garlicky and it was well mixed. It went very well with our meat — Pinakbet(sautéed vegetables with minced pork and shrimp paste): to me, this dish was milder in flavor than it sounds. I didn’t know what all the vegetables included were but the majority was tasty except for the bitter melon(of which I am not a fan). Bitter melon is an acquired taste and fortunately its flavor did not permeate the dish. — Halo-Halo: this traditional dessert is tastiest when mixed all together. There is shaved ice, red bean, crispy rice, jello, and more that forms a dessert that isn’t too sweet. It’s a nice refreshing way to end your meal. Service was friendly and prompt. They process your credit card transactions on a hand held tablet device. My only complaint would be that they don’t give you a knife to cut the meat and they don’t have chopsticks. However, the fork and spoon provided do get the job done :)

Decided to give this place one more try… Not worth it. Was charged twice for the same meal, came back to get it figured out, and left empty handed. They said to leave my phone number and they would get back to me because they can’t find my transaction even though my bank account shows 2 Chibog charges same day, same amount. The server wanted to train someone on how to do it when the machine froze and instead of waiting or restarting it she grabbed another and just swiped away. I thought she would go back and take out the other charge but nope! Those machines are ridiculous, they stand over you while you’re paying and you feel like you should give more tip than normal because of the eyes over your shoulder. Mediocre food, mediocre service, high prices. Try Alidos down on el Camino. Mom and pop shop, huge servings, and so good!

The wife orders the Lechon Kawali Silog, I order the Tosilog and ask for a third plate. We both take half our entrees and place them in the center third plate to share. We also put half our rice and one egg in the center plate for easy rice-egg mixing. Most times we also order the Lumpia Shanghai and a Halo-Halo to go. Four Stars!

Good kare-kare and bisteak. They were well prepared and not salty. The veggies in the kare-kare was still crispy and not soggy. The sauce is pretty light and good peanutty flavor. The oxtail was huge with a big piece of fat on it which was good for flavor but kinda gross too. The bisteak was very good but maybe too much fat or tendons throughout the meat. Flavorful sauce. The food here is truly Filipino comfort food.

All of the dishes I had on my visit here were on point. We shared 3 meals between the 4 of us since we weren’t all that hungry to begin with and it was plenty with some left over. The kare kare, lechon kawali and pancit were all delicious and up to standard in presentation. Very clean tasting authentic Filipino food, maybe even a little too clean haha but good nonetheless. Lechon kawali was perfectly cooked and super crispy on the edges while still maintaining it’s tenderness and moisture of the pork belly. I love how nothing was overly greasy, which can be a difficult feat when serving pork belly since it’s essentially mostly fat. The pancit was also cooked perfectly and the flavor was great with the sliced egg pieces and all. It complimented all the other dishes very well. Kare Kare tasted clean and the tripe was so soft and not chewy at all. Only slightly disappointing thing about this experience was the service that could have been a little better. Our server seemed a little disinterested and was slow coming back to the table, but everyone deserves an off day. Why they were out of halo halo, a staple Filipino dessert on a Sunday afternoon I’m not sure but that was a sore disappointment since we’re from out of town and probably won’t be back for a good while. Maybe one day we’ll be back for that halo halo and to try out some of their other dishes!

My boo and I wanted to try something new. Since she’ll be going back to chitown soon she and I wanted to eat Filipino food. Ok, it’s not a fancy place but it’s clean and very bright inside because they have the corner unit w Windows all over which is nice. Staff — we were greeted and sat down right away. We had two servers and they were both very friendly and very at tentative. We looked at the menu and knew what we wanted. We didn’t wait very long until she came to get our order. Love that when she took our order she was using an electronic gadget. Nice that they’re keeping up to date. Food — we ordered veggie lumpia to share. It was good. Not too greasy and most of all it had enough filling. It was very tasty too. I love that it was crunchy. Yummy! Brie order the chicken tocino and langonisa Shiloh combo. 2 pieces of langonisa and a good portion of the tocino. I rarely eat Filipino food unless friends decide they want to eat it. I don’t eat red meat or Pork so when I saw chicken tocino I was happy. It was tasty and juicy. I had the tinapang milkfish and Bbq chicken. Loved the flavor of the fish. I was a little disappointed w the Bbq chicken. I like my chicken juicy and this was a bit dry. Also I guess I’m used to Bbq having a little bit more sauce but it was still good. I just put a lot of vinegar w tobacco and that did the trick If you’re a Unilocaled and you check in you get a free juice. My daughter ordered the calamansi juice. She said it was delicious. Overall I would recommend Chibog. I would definitely like to go back and see how their halo halo is compared to other places. Would also love it if they served chicken langonisa Lol!

Came here around 2PM on a Sunday and it was full. Luckily we only waited about 10 – 15 mins before we were seated. FOOD: — Lumpia Shanghai: absolutely delicious! I thought 20 pieces would be too much, but we finished those easily just because they were so good. Get it! — Lechon Kawali: wow these were deep fried perfectly! It was crunchy on the outside but so tender on the inside. Definitely worth your money! — Sizzling Sisig: we got the combo of pork and chicken and the portion is HUGE! It’d be nice if it came with rice. I found this dish to be too salty, and the pork was a bit dry. I wasn’t a fan of this dish unfortunately. SERVICE: They have pretty good service going around here. Everything was done in a timely manner, and they were all very courteous. They bring iPads up to you to pay, which saves paper on receipts. And it’s nice that you get free juice if you check-in on Unilocal! Overall, I’d definitely come back when I’m craving Filipino food and so I can try some of their other dishes!

Came here with my brother and his fiancé for the first time for dinner at 5PM and there was no wait! The restaurant is very clean and everyone was super friendly. We got the combo sisig, kare kare, garlic rice, and taro leaves. The taro leaves had a lot of flavor, but was wayyyyy tooo salty. We took the left overs home and you can probably make a sauce or soup out of it, it would taste delicious! The kare kare had a lot of meat and veggies in it and tasted excellent with the garlic rice. The sisig was also really good too! Be warned though, the sisig causes a lot of smoke because of the sizzling plate so don’t wear your best clothes here cause almost everyone orders it!

My go-to Filipino place now. They have the best Sisig, owing to the fact it’s more meaty than the traditional fatty variety. Most dishes can be turned into a –silog, which would take any fish and add fried egg and garlic fried rice — a breakfast staple of my Filipinos. Place is clean, service is quick and the servers are always friendly. Best to come early as the place isn’t that big. The owner is very very accommodating and is very attentive. Love this place! Highly recommended!

Yaaassss! Finally Filipino food that I’d actually eat other than my Mama’s home cooking! As everyone suggested, I ordered the pork sisig, the bangus sisig(which beeteedubs is my favorite dish ever), palabok and binagoongan. And I wasn’t mad at any of them. The binagoongan tasted a bit sweet to me which I wasn’t used to but still good. The bangus, pork sisig, and palabok weren’t the best I’ve had but came a close second. This review is based on to-go experience but from what I could tell from the few moments I was there, the staff was friendly and pretty damn efficient. One person working the register and phones and the other holding down all the tables. If it got a little too busy the other would jump in when needed. Well-oiled machine they got there. I would definitely order from them again soon. Thumbs up– KAINNA!

I remember those nights and early mornings when I would be craving silogs. The former Sinugba came to the rescue. Fast forward to today, where Chibog would satisfy the same cravings for this Filipino breakfast dish(garlic fried rice, fried eggs, and a choice of meat). Just not in the wee hours of the morning anymore. Lately, it’s been lunch and early dinner. This time with a cleaner restaurant, a cleaner bathroom, a more hi-tech method of paying, friendlier service, and better quality and portions. So far, I’ve had their tapsilog, adobo chicken silog, crispy fried chicken silog, and lechon kawali silog. The eggs in all these dishes were done just right and their rice to meat ratio has always been on par. With the perfect amount of fat and crispiness, my favorite silog is their lechon kawali(fried pork belly)…And of course, don’t forget Mang Tomas all-purpose sauce with this dish. Their tapsilog(marinated beef) is also a force to be reckoned with. I’m also a fan of their chicken adobo and their bangus sisig(shredded seasoned milkfish). I was only hoping the sisig would sizzle longer. I’m glad they have regular fried lumpia… with ground pork, shrimp and veggies, other than the usual Lumpiang Shanghai that’s available at most Filipino restaurants. For dessert, their Halo Halo with ube ice cream never disappoints. Tip: Take advantage of the Unilocal check-in offer… free Calamansi juice. They limit one check-in offer per table only. So when you dine in with other Unilocalers that like to check-in to places, be the instigator and redeem the offer first!

I’m glad to have given this place a second try as I wasn’t too pleased with my first visit. First time we ordered Sinigang — Lechon kawali style, pork sisig, and chicharon bulaklak. The bulaklak was crispy, just the way I like it; however I was disappointed with the sinigang kawali and sisig as they were too salty. As hungry as we were, we couldn’t finish our food. Today’s visit, we had sizzling tofu, ensaladang talong, and pork binagoongan. Everything was great and we left the restaurant in a food comma. Next time, I’ll probably order the regular pork sinigang rather than the Lechon kawali style. Nothing beats the original!

I wouldn’t have known about Chibog if it weren’t for my cousin who loves this place! He and his wife live in Sacramento, but have, on occasion, made the long trek to Daly City just to have Filipino food here. Must be good if he’s willing to go all that way for Filipino food! And after two meals here, the verdict is yes – Chibog is good! Here’s what we had two visits: Sizzling Pork Sisig — comes sizzling as advertised and can be ordered with an egg on top. Definitely get it with an egg. Really tasty and you get that nice crispy texture. Next time I order this, I’d ask them for chopped jalapeño to up the spice level. Generous portion good enough for 4 people.(4 stars) Bangus Sisig — a good option if you don’t like pork. Very tasty too and although advertised as boneless, I found a couple of bones from the head area mixed in, so do be careful. Filipinos eat a lot of fish and it’s a rite of passage to have a piece of bone stuck in your throat. Lol(4 stars) Chicken Tinola — good flavor, but didn’t have a lot of ginger taste. We didn’t see ginger slices in the soup, so not sure if they used ginger at all.(4 stars) Dinuguan — yum! Not too vinegary and it comes with a large whole jalapeño nestled in the sauce.(4 stars) Kare-kare — on our first visit, it was great. The oxtails were really tender, but the second time, the oxtails were not as tender. Hope it is better the next visit! Liked the tripe in it though and the sauce is nice.(3 stars) Pork Adobo — disappointing. The pork chunks have been braised too long. They’ve kind of disintegrated into the sauce. I wouldn’t order this next time. I also like my adobo tangier and it wasn’t tangy enough for me.(3 stars) Halo-Halo — I could always use more toppings and less ice on mine, but this one had a nice amount of toppings and ube ice cream. It’s big so share with someone!(4 stars) It’s really too bad we live in the East Bay. We’d probably come more often here if we lived closer. We got lucky that the restaurant wasn’t that busy when we ate here(some odd weekday in the summer and day after Christmas), but I hear it gets busy. Service was okay. Flag the servers if you need something. We had a group of 8 the last time, and we had to pay with two credit cards and it took the staff a while to figure out how to do it on their«Square» type of register. Luckily, we weren’t in a hurry to get out of there.

The service was really good! Our cups were never empty and the lady who helped us made us feel like family. We ordered the lumpia shanghai, lechon kawali silog and longsilog. My boyfriend and I shared everything because between the lechon and longanisa, it was really rich and filling. Love this place and will definitely come back.

3.25 stars for just above average Filipino food. Chibog is well hidden in a Daly City strip mall, so I was surprised at how crowded it was at noon on a Saturday — every table was taken! They were churning out party trays non-stop, so I’m sure this is a go-to pick up spot for alot of Filipino families. Overall, the only thing that was really tasty was the lechon(and that was a tiny bit dry), but I need to come back to try their crispy pata and tocino! Make sure to come with a large group so you can do family style, the portions here are really generous. Would try again: * Lechon — Pretty good, but a tiny bit dry. Looked Good: * Crispy Pata: Huge piece of crispy pork leg — 1 piece was huge! * Tocino(Chicken): Looked like delicious Chinese BBQ pork! Skip: * Garlic rice — Sadly, undrecooked. * Singang(with lechon): I love a good Tamarind soup but this was way way too sour. Enormous portion size. I would recommend against the lechon because it got too soggy. * Complimentary Mango Juice — Too artificial * BBQ Pork — Sliced stir-fried pork, tasted like Mongolian BBQ from a food court. Meh.
