No longer there. Replaced by Chibog. Don’t know if same owner or management. But definitely not Sinugba anymore.

Ordered the sizzling sisig and it was a lot of food, but the taste was a little bit bland and kind of all over the place. They have lots of other variety of filipino options that I could consider trying if I ever went back, but I don’t really have an urge to do so at this point in time. **Note, this review was when I ate back in 4÷2012− just never submitted the review and I guess now they are closed.

NOOOO!!! i heard this place is closing down. this has been a great authentic filipino dive. fantastic food and huge portions. the garlic rice is tasty enough to eat on it’s own. the plate of lumpia was big enough to feed a large group. tosilog’s were on point! i will be mourning this loss.

After trying many local Filipino favorites(House of Sisig, Tribu Grill, etc.), Sinugba is still my favorite. It is my go-to when I have a tosilog craving and it is absolutely the place I take my Filipino parents when they come to visit. It is also the place I take my non-Filipino friends who have never had Filipino food before. Yes, the service can be slow, but I accept that in exchange for food that is cooked fresh after I order it. Other things to consider: — They have a chicken tocino option. Meaning I’m not forced to eat the fatty pork option, if I don’t feel like it.(Most places only have pork.) — They take pride in their sisig(boasting about their preparation and special family recipe) and it shows. If you’ve never had sisig before(I wasn’t a fan before I moved here), then I recommend the Chickboy Sisig as the best introduction. — Their fried chicken is amazing. Probably the best thing on the menu, though probably overlooked. And you can order it ala carte – 2 pieces, if you just want to try it. — It is right next door to the House of Silvanas, a Filipino dessert food store that only has 2 or 3 locations in the entire country. If you’re not going to LA any time soon, take the time to check it out while you’re there. It’s the perfect ending to a great meal or at least, a great take-away to save for dessert later. Sinugba is tucked in a tiny strip mall, so it can be hard to find and it might be a bit of a hike for those who live in the city. Either way, I think it’s worth the drive and the time. If anything, I guarantee that the service will at least be better than the«service» doled out by the angsty zombie teenagers over at House of Sisig. And hey, if you don’t like it, you can at least go to one of the hundred Targets in the area, so the trip won’t be a total waste.

Babies(and having them) scare the bejeebies out of me. My friend recently posted on FB that giving birth is around 57 dels(units) of pain, the equivalent of fracturing 20 bones… at the same time. OHHELLNO… I’m never having sex again. Ever. *Hands Mr. NSS a Tenga Egg* IF I were to have a baby, however, I would want a girl first so I can play dress up. Actually, scratch that, I want a boy first so he can c*ckblock his younger sister because she’s never having sex either. Ever. If Sinugba’s Chickboy Sisig were a baby it would be perfect. A wondrous creation, the Chickboy Sisig($ 12.95) is the melding of crunchy crackling pork belly and juicy tender bits of chicken, both seasoned with a tantalizing mixture of lemon, soy, onions, and jalapeños served on a sizzling platter. A mouthwatering mélange of rich, savory tangy sweetness with a kick that’s so f*cking foodgasmic that it will make every every one of your taste buds quiver. Food porn: Best.Pinoy.Creation.Ever. P. S. — Chickboy is not chicks with d*cks, you sick pervs. P. P. S. — The Tenga Egg has been happily approved by Mr. NSS. =) OTHERNOTES: *Hidden in a shopping plaza. Drive past Pak ‘N Save, past Orchard Supply, past Ling Nam and make a right before you hit the top of of the hill. Go down a driveway and Sinugba will be to your left. *Friendly, homey service. *Very casual mom and pop restaurant with 11 tables. *Sisigs are their specialties along with over 20 Silogs(Filipino breakfast of meat, eggs, and garlic fried rice). *We also ordered the Pork BBQ Silog w/No Rice($ 8.95) and Bulalo($ 14.95) . *Sinugba Loyalty Card gets you a free Silog after your 10th one. *Catering available. *No MSG used.

OH my Goodness! A Restaurant that has more than 20 kinds of –SILOG!!! I would give this one star for every Silog they carry. Unfortunately they NOLONGER serve Corned Beef Silog(my favorite) but nevertheless the other silog options make it worth the trip here! Thank You MIKA for living so close here!

A little hole in the wall looking place in a strip mall. Went on a Sunday and place was packed so waited for about 10 minutes before anybody came to say hello and take our order. The dude that did so was very unfriendly, no smile, no hospitality, dead in the eyes. Maybe he was too busy and was ready to kill someone? No matter. the lady at the counter took over and got our order, with a smile. Unfortunately they were out of 3 items we wanted: pork adobo fried rice, ginataang langka, and sago’t gulaman. Instead we ordered lechon kawali, sinugbang tapa, and the fried eggplant with meat, with garlic rice. Servings were huge! The fried eggplant was so so good! Perfectly done. Sinugbang tapa was another winner, really good. Lechong kawali was the disappointment. It was a little bland. Garlic rice though was flavorful. We may just have to come back to test the other items and maybe a different rating for this place. It has potential.

First time to eat here with my BF and I would say it’s pretty GOOD. Close to my mom’s cooking. Their sour soup with pork is good and huge serving too. The Sisig with Chicken and pork was good but not as crispy. My BF tried the grilled porkchop with garlic rice and 2 eggs and he said it was good. Maybe I will try this place again in 6 – 8 months since I’m not really a fan of FILIPINO cuisine.

DELICIOUSBANSILOG&LONSILOG! This came with high recommendations from Unilocal friends and since I was in the area — I ordered for takeout! I ordered BANSILOG which is a deep fried milk fish, comes with garlic fried rice and two semi over easy eggs with vinegar and soy sauce dipping! It was good and they do give you a big portion especially on rice. My milk fish portion however was a bit small — but not bad! The LONSILOG is a Filipino sweet sausage and to my surprised — they actually pand fried it first then grilled it! It was pretty good. It had the same sides as the Bansilog with garlic rice, dipping sauce, two eggs and this one also came with a slice of tomato. I was the only customer at the restaurant when I came in while the staff were all eating before the big dinner rush — so I received their full attention. I felt like a KING! hahah… While I waited for my take out — I did noticed some of their cool«Pinoy» paintings — so I took pictures to share them with you here! The restaurant seemed liked it had a cool vibe — and I can only imagine when they are super busy what it would be like. They do have plenty of parking so that was a plus, and like everyone reviewed here — they are hard to find. Just remember they are between Westborough/King and you’ll be fine! I will definitely put this SINUGBA on my «REVISTLIST» and to dine in next time!

I remember eating here a few times over the last few years and I’m not sure why I never gave a review. So this is my review based on what I can remember from my past visit and on my recent visit last week. I was craving for silog and found this from Unilocal so I dragged a friend to go pig out with me. I ordered the bansilog and kare-kare to share. Their silog menu is pretty large. I haven’t had a bad one. Their kare-kare was pretty good. portion was large. i’ve had their seafood and most of them were really good. I do think that the bangus with my silog was a bit too sour for my liking. A few things that would have earned them another star: I ordered plain white rice… didn’t get it. took awhile for the service didn’t offer us water. the server didn’t check with us if we needed anything or if we’re up for desert. napkins… who eats a meal with 1 little napkin? gave the server a fat tip anyway because my silog craving was satisfied.

After nabbing some great deals while shopping in the Haight, my pals and I were feeling our stomachs grumbling. We were meeting up with another friend and decided that we’d meet up halfway in Daly City. We had no idea what was in the area so we chose to take a chance on Filipino cuisine. I’ve never eaten Filipino food in a sit-down place before so this was a first for me. In fact, I haven’t had much of it at all to be honest so I didn’t quite know what to get. Our group of four decided share two entrees and two sides, with a ton of garlic rice. The server suggested the chicken sisig and pork ticino, and we supplemented with some BBQ chicken and kare kare(ox tail in a peanut sauce). All of the dishes were really delicious and came in surprisingly large portions. The kare kare came in a freakin’ pot and could have served as a meal for our table in itself. The other dishes were really tasty as well! Sinugba is a great no-frills type of place and they really make you feel at home. The server had some great suggestions and helped us break down the rather large menu. It’s a little tricky to find since it’s kind of hidden in the plaza, and the plaza is hidden from the street. There’s tons of interesting restaurants in the area and I will definitely be back. Sinugba is definitely a good option though if you’re in the mood for the equivalent of Asian soul food! DOWNGRADE! «I love me some of their pork bbq, I love garlic rice and I love how they perfectly poach their eggs over-medium– not too runny but just enough of that yummy yolk flavor.» So much for that previous review… Been eating at Sinugba since the late 90’s, I overlook the slow service when eating in, I overlook the smaller portions and random luke-warm food, and I overlooked it when service was extremely slow one night cause it was the last day to claim some Groupon deal. But on a Saturday night, we rushed to Sinugba straight from the airport for a good, hearty Filipino rice plate. The hours state they close at 10pm, we made it a little before 9:30pm and the dining area was completely empty. We walk in and are greeted, «For here or to go?» We say for here. The lady then looks at her watch and says, «Oh, we close at 9:45.» I correct her that it’s 10pm, and this woman sure did say, «We need to clean at 9:45… but it’s okay,» followed by tossing the menus on a table. Still standing there, our party of four just look at each other and decide not to even deal with her and her BS, so we walk out with a, «Thanks for NOTHING!» But actually, I’d like to apologize for that… Thank you Sinugba for this incident. Thanks to you, I finally got to try the new Korean BBQ House( ) down the street, who at about 9:40pm with a closing of 10pm– welcomed us in and provided great service and tons of yummmy Korean BBQ!

Okay so we’ve been eating here since our college days,(sadly, it seems so long ago), and it’s always been one of my faves. My standy was the Fried Chickensilog with the side of sotanghon soup topped with fried garlic. It had been a long hiatus but thanks to a move up the peninsula and a Groupon offer, I found myself back here. I bought two Groupons. I have to say the first visit, drastically disappointed me. I ordered the grilled pusit-silog and it was lukewarm, didn’t taste very fresh, and they also left the fat inside the pusit. My heart broke since I always loved this place and felt like it had taken a turn for the worse. On top of that, they had raised their prices(which I felt wasn’t comparable to the product I was getting), and service was extremely slow. I walked out of there feeling deflated. Well, thankfully, we had another Groupon to use and it COMPLETELY redeemed my last experience. I teetered between the Chicken Tosilog and the Bisteksilog. It had been awhile since I had Bistek and my Mom’s Bistek is second to none. So I wearily ordered the Bisteksilog with eggs over hard. OMG… tastebuds singing!!! Not only was it saucy, lemony, and flavorful, but the beef was tender and marinated well and they added a good amount of onions. I found myself eating to no end despite being full already. DH ordered the Chicken BBQsilog and the ChickBoy Sisig. I stuck to my Bistek but took a few bites of the other dishes. DH really enjoyed what he ordered. To top off dinner, I ordered my long-standing craving of Halo-Halo with Ube Ice Cream. In another Unilocaler’s review, they said it was just okay. It didn’t deter me and perhaps managed my expectations… but that Halo-Halo was on point. Not only did it look good, it was delicious. It came with a generous scoop of ice cream, so much so that it turned my whole dessert purple; the ice was nicely shaven, not too fine and not too gritty, good ratio of filling, and they added pinipig which stayed crispy despite being at the bottom of the glass! Additionally, the owner, Gus, was extremely outgoing, friendly, and spoke to all of his patrons. Always a win with welcoming owners. I asked him what happened to the accompanying sotanghon soup that used to come with the silog dishes. He reminded me that you can substitute that in place of the eggs. OMG. Score! I guess I forgot you could do that but I won’t be forgetting again! It might have been awhile for a return visit if not for that second Groupon, Gus’ warm hospitality, and delicious food worth every penny.

The first time I came here was because my friend and I were in the area and we were looking for somewhere near by to eat. I pulled out my Unilocal mobile app and found that this was pretty much the only non-chain with good reviews. Since it was our first time, we decided to order whatever was recommended. We got the mixed Sisig, the escolar, and garlic rice. The service was great. I really liked it, but my friend found it a bit heavy. I’ve since returned a few times and brought different people with me. I would really recommend the Sisig, pollo adobo and the garlic rice. They have great service and large portions so be prepared to take some home or eat a lot.

My first encounter with this place was when I was on my way to House of Silvanas. My first thought… a new Filipino restaurant tucked away in the plaza?!? Gotta give it a try next time! Thanks to Groupon, there was literally a deal about 3 weeks later. It was meant to be, I was immediately sold! To my surprise, Sinugba has been around for almost as long as I’ve been alive! The owner is super friendly and the service is always great! He introduced us to his«special» sisig(grilled chicken w/fried pork) and the hubby and I have been hooked ever since. Y claims this to be his«best sisig» dish. ever! It’s seriously the perfect combination of smoky flavors and crunchy texture… delicious! Unlike other Filipino restaurants, Sinugba serves up a different region and style of Filipino cooking. I’m all about variety so this restaurant is definitely a change from the usual Filipino dishes I’m use to. I’m still in disbelief that I haven’t discovered this place sooner. Definitely never too late, but I only wished it was more visible for other food lovers to enjoy as well!

If you were to die tomorrow, what would your last meal on earth be? This is such a simple question on our Unilocal profile page. While I would’ve preferred to cite anything TRUFFLE, sinful foie gras or even something mind blowing like the French Laundry, I go with the familiar food from my childhood days. Extra crispy spam. Over easy eggs. Steaming white rice. So, naturally, any place where I can get my spam and eggs at ANY given time of day automatically earns 4 stars from me. Sinugba serves«silog» dishes all day. These start at $ 7.95 and come with yummy garlic fried rice. Oh anything garlic is a fave of mine too! And, as expected, I loved their spam silog platter. We also ordered pinakbet, which are vegetables sauteed in shrimp paste. I like my squash to have a little crunch, my bittermelon more mushy and the eggplant soft. This dish hit all the right notes. You know what else is a surprisingly outstanding dish here? their Dinuguan. Yes, yes, «chocolate meat» for all you newbies to Filipino food. Tender pork cubes braised in vinegar and PORKBLOOD. Other Filipino restaurants serve this dish(authentically as it should be) with pork intestines and innards, but my gawd, I’m not young anymore and I don’t wanna keel over yet. Sinugba makes theirs with pure pork meat. Very generous serving too. I did NOT feel guilty eating 2 servings of this and packed some leftovers for lunch next day. Do not go here without trying their MANGOSHAKE. Thanks to Gill C, I spent the first 15 minutes here slowly relishing this creamy concoction and I kept telling the bf, «I think they make it with REAL mango ice cream!» oh my lanta!!! ;-) Service was friendly and prompt. There will definitely be a second(and third!) visit and an update. Sinugba, a job well done. I’m usually a harsh critic when it comes to my people’s food but you pass with flying colors!

Bf & I wanted to try Tsilogs but they’re closed on Sundays so runner up was Sinugba. You know how you know a good Filipino restaurant? When your bf’s mom, your co-worker & your Unilocal buddy all of whom are Filipino say that it’s good & they all did! We each got a refreshing glass of mango juice($ 2.75). He got the Spamsilog & I got the chicken adobosilog($ 8.95 each). He enjoyed his spam & my chicken adobo was so yummy & tender! Only negative was my food wasn’t very warm & I thought it would be since it felt like an eternity that we were waiting for our food; I think that’s what happens when you have cravings! Bf says it’s one of the cleaner Filipino restaurants, *hint hint* Ongpin! Definitely would come back when the adobo craving hits!

Not bad. Not bad at all! The have an extensive silog menu. Like always, I went with the longsilog with a side order of lumpia. I love how they sliced the longanisas! The adobo was really good too! Can’t really compare the prices of this place to Superstar or Gateway Kitchen since this place is more of a sit down restaurant. I like it that it’s clean and I don’t feel the need to run home and shower after I eat. The portions are great too. While I prefer the food from Superstar and Gateway Kitchen more, I’ll definitely be back to Sinugba for a sit down meal!

It’s hard to find great Filipino food sometimes but Sinugba is one of those restaurants we visit quite often and we tend to eat the same thing every time we come here. The best dish here is the Chicharon Bulaklak(fried intestines). This stuff is so addictive and made even yummier with banana ketchup! *licks lips* We usually have the silogs(breakfast plates) for our entrée and my go-to meal is always the Grilled BBQ Pork Silog. I love, love, love the way they make their eggs but the garlic rice is average. Other dishes we’ve tried… 1) Oxtail calderetta — Oxtail meat was nice and tender but the calderetta sauce was only so-so 2) Sinnigang — I liked this… sour enough for me 3) Diniguan — I had a small taste and it was ok. 4) Longanisa — I’ve had better 5) Shanghai lumpia — Nice and crispy on the outside but the inside was mushy so was a little disappointed For dessert, you can’t go wrong with Halo-Halo topped with a scoop of ice cream! Possibly one of my favorites because I’m not a huge fan of beans and at Sinugba, they give more jelly-type things than the beans so I can’t argue there. Docked a star off for slow service. It doesn’t matter if it’s busy or not, it’s always slow. But the staff are nice enough.
