My wife and I have been here many times in the past. We liked the mom and pop type of atmosphere even if it was dumpy inside and kept coming back because it was decent food at a great price. This past visit they jacked up the prices of most dishes by 45 percent to match some of the nicer Burmese restaurants in the city. No changes to the food quality or quantity or interior decorations. Last time we go there.

It is a great restaurant. Prices went up quite a bit. 4 stars because the desert menu doesn’t have enough items.

Prices have increased substantially but not listed on the website. The quality of the food has gone down. The picture on the website says something else and the food turns out to be something else. There is a new owner and this place is not worth visiting anymore. The previous was warm, cordial and the food was amazing. I returned the food I ordered and never going back again.

I came here because I had an old voucher that I wanted to redeem. They immediately told me that they don’t accept those any more despite the fact that these certificates aren’t supposed to expire but apparently the management has changed in the past year so I was out of luck. Wasn’t too happy about the poor attitude they gave me about the whole voucher thing… and that pretty much set the standard for the whole experience and food. We ended up ordering the garlic noodles with pork(2 stars), the biriani rice(3 stars), and the mango chicken(1 star). None of the flavors really popped and the seasoning just really seemed off and bland compared to what I’ve experienced at places like Mandalay and Burma Superstar. I would venture to say that this place is a long shot detour away from the better tasting places… hence their need for vouchers to bring in more traffic. I should’ve known better. I do give +1 star for their décor though. It looks like they put some work into trying to make the place look like an escape to Burma. Don’t be fooled by the décor though. They need to focus more time into their food. Overall, bland flavors, apathetic service, and not much customer turnover so food isn’t churned out freshly. Drive up to the Richmond District and experience better Burmese food!

I just love going to Little Yangon. I’m working my way through the menu, and so far, things are going well. This friendly, cash-only establishment is a much needed mainstay in our neighborhood. I can pop in almost any night for a salad and soup, and leave satisfied and nourished. That’s a five in my book.

It did not give me a choice to leave 0 star. Unilocalers and foodies, do not attempt to go here. This place used to be my go-to Burmese food, not anymore. Had the worse dinner experience ever. They bumped up the prices of their food $ 3-$ 4 more, no longer takes MC and Visa, no ATM inside and the quality of food just went downhill. I was so disappointed and upset. I should’ve walked out once I saw that there was not a single soul inside during dinner time. Someone bring the old Little Yangon back.

This place is not what it used to be. Prices have gone up and the quality and taste of the food has gone down way down. This place must be under new ownership. Worst coconut curry noodle soup I have ever tasted. It tasted starchy and was extremely bland. There was no flavor of any kind. Noodles were mushy. The tea leaf salad was ok definitely not worth $ 13 bucks. I REMEMBER when it cost $ 9 and tasted 10 times better then the one i ate tonight. Little Yangon has been my go to place for Authentic Burmese In Daly City but after today I think I’d rather make the extra few minutes drive to the city to fulfill my Burmese food cravings.

(3 stars means A-OK. I would eat here again.) Pretty good Burmese food. Good to eat in and for take out. Get the pun thay noodles. They are curry noodles with a great chew and texture. They also soak up the curry well. The tea leaf salad is also a decent choice.

Honestly this place lost me today. I love it here usually since it’s decent Burmese food for a reasonable price but my goodness did they awake the devil in me today. Anyway I called to place an order and their phone line was busy. So I put an order on eat24 and when I came here, they told me that they don’t even use the eat24 app anymore! So my order didn’t even go through. THEN, they tell me they only take cash so I got walk my ass all around the area looking for an ATM machine like a lost child. Are they okay?!? I’m not. I still ordered my food. I came this far. A girl has got to eat. I will take out my frustrations later at yoga. Namaste. But I’m sorry little Yangoon, you lost a loyal customer.

We decide to check out this Burmese restaurant. They serve us a free bowl of lentil soup which was delicious. Very flavorful. So far so good. We ordered Garlic Noodles with BBQ pork, which was bland with regular sliced chinese cha-siu pork in it. Boring. Next we ordered Chicken Biryani which was delicious but we just had only 1 over-cooked chicken thigh. Really!!! Cheap, cheap cheap!!! We ordered Spicy Fried Pork Cooked with Roasted Chiles. No Pork in sight-so sad. We ordered Roasted Pork Curry. Pork was tender but no curry taste or any flavor. Very disappointed in our meal. There was 4 of us and we did not enjoy our meal. Not coming back. Not wasting our hard earning money here.

Nice place with a lot of culture stuff in the restaurant. Hard to find the parking around there. Food is good not the best Burmese food I had. I highly recommend you check the place out.

This small, almost hole-in-the-wall, has authentic Burmese food at decent prices. There are hits and misses on the menu but one dish I consistently return to is the BBQ Chicken with coconut rice. The chicken is marinated with yogurt, cumin, homemade spice, and coconut milk and is pretty delicious. Adding coconut rice takes to an even new level. Although not a «destination» restaurant, it’s definitely worth trying if in the area.

Yan GOOOOOOONNNNN!!! There’s not much better than being able to walk into a quality restaurant and get a table without having to wait. THEORDER: Tea Leaf Salad, Mango Chicken, Garlic Noodles and Fried Banana with Ice Cream which all came out to about $ 40 including tip. The Tea Leaf Salad was flavorful and serviced premixed. The Mango Chicken and Garlic Noodles were both quite good. I suggest ordering a side of rice for the chicken so the flavors don’t mix with the noodles. The Fried Bananas with Ice Cream was purely an impulse order. The serving of Fried Banana was very generous but 2 scoops of ice cream wasn’t enough. I suggest throwing in one more. THESERVICE: Definitely meets expectations. The waitress was attentive and provided excellent service. No complaints! Bottom line is that Little Yangoon is a very solid, family owned establishment that provides some pretty darn good food. Best of all, it’s only a few miles away from my house! Love itttttttttt.

Change is good. Unless that change is not so good. I used to love this place. My check ins and photos from a few years back illustrate that. A recent visit found a remodel of the modest space, a disappointing meal of low-quality food that tasted re-heated, and terrible service. Ridiculously sassy girl in her 20’s basically eye rolled and ignored me as much as she could. I paid for food and drinks I picked at and left behind. Any good server would see that and ask«Was everything ok?» The misconception is Unilocalers are obnoxious. I am consistently polite to people who do all they can to earn 1 star. I am classy — not confrontational which makes me the fool who pays for terrible service and food I don’t eat. It was hard enough to get a pen to sign my card payment slip so I could get the hell out of there. Having a conversation about the terrible food to a server who made every effort to abuse me wasn’t going to happen. What was once an easy recommendation is now just a place I used to like. This happens sometimes. It isn’t the end of the world. The irony of the large screen television blaring a pressure cooker infomercial wasn’t lost on me. I will not return. Nor recommend. I paid $ 60 to share that message with you.

For years now, this is where I would go for Burmese food. Not Burma Superstar. Not Mandalay. Not Mingalaba. The reasons are simple. It’s good. It’s affordable. I don’t care for the tea leaf salad presentation where they toss your salad in front of you, ATALL. This is not a dish I order much here however, as I usually go for the other dishes that are more exotic to me. My stomach has only so much space. It does not taste like the tea leaf salad from Burma superstar or Mandalay however– the tea leaf salad of BS/M tasted more like hummus. And while I can’t vouch for authenticity, there are many dishes here I have yet to see elsewhere, such as the vegetable chin bong which is used in the #36 pork«curry».(Although I wouldn’t call it a curry. It is a wetter dish though. I feel like they call it a curry because of in their opinion the lack of a better word, kind of the same case with Burmese tofu.) And you can’t call your restaurant Burmese if it doesn’t have Burmese tofu. I am looking at you, Mandalay. Burmese tofu isn’t really tofu but rather a chickpea based polenta, and here it makes for a good tofu salad. Even the rice here is special. They don’t have«indian-burmese» rice, which I have never had a pleasant experience with, but they have plain biryani, tea leaves rice(which I didn’t think much of), butter rice, etc. The butter rice was one of my family’s favourite, ironic enough. Not sure if they still have the $ 5 breakfast specials anymore, but they now have a buffet for lunch, and you can do that or pick from the menu as well. The buffet selection changes day to day. In the end, this place has many unique dishes that other Burmese restaurants lack. And I don’t feel that this restaurant is trying to lure customers in with salad tossing presentation or extra dishes/bits that isn’t Burmese such as the bar at Burma superstar or Mongolian beef and Rangoon beef at Mandalay which respectively isn’t Burmese and looks/tastes like nothing I’ve had at other Burmese restaurants.

Eager to try Burmese cuisine, I tried coming here last week, but I couldn’t find parking. Tried again tonight and luckily found a spot. I cannot say how authentic the flavors were; however the flavors I tried tonight were not to my liking. We ordered the tea leaf salad, moh hinga(catfish noodle soup) and Burmese style curry with lamb. The tea leaf salad was raise your blood pressure salty. I liked the play of textures, the cool, limp fermented tea leaves, combined with the crunchy, warm roasted nuts, but the saltiness was completely overwhelming. The moh hinga did not look like the photograph, so I’m actually not sure if we received moh hinga or the coconut chicken noodle soup(minus chicken). There wasn’t any discernible pieces of fish, just slivers of something that the waitress identified as banana skin. The soup base flavor was good, and I appreciated the perfectly hard boiled egg. The Burmese style curry with lamb(and chunks of potato) was flavorful, tender and delicious. The portion was tiny however. I could get equally flavorful or better curry at any Indian restaurant. Service was rather inattentive. It was not busy, yet we waited in the front of the restaurant forever before someone noticed and seated us. The waitress only appeared to take our order, drop off the dishes, and bring us the check. In the intermedium times, she was MIA. Salty salad, mystery soup, and small portions. Probably will not return here, although I have not given up on Burmese food yet.

Tried a variety of dishes, most were pretty decent. Started the meal off with a tea leaf salad. The salad is delivered tossed so you aren’t paying for that pizzazz of them mixing it in real time, like at Burma Superstar. I really liked their version with exception to the giant wedges of tomatoes — they didn’t really belong in my opinion. But otherwise, it was crunchy, nutty, and not over dressed. The vegetarian samosas were next. Too much potato… not enough other flavors to make the dish stand out. The samosas were fried perfectly… but definitely required the use of the tamarind sauce. Next came the mohinga and coconut chicken noodle soup. Both were okay. I think the mohinga was probably pretty hyped up for us so our expectations were really high. There was barely had any catfish! As for the other, my friend makes a killer version of the coconut chicken noodle soup and honestly this version was just a shameful comparison. Both dishes were also lukewarm when delivered — so much for hot soup to warm you up on a foggy Daly City night… Last was the chicken curry with palata. The chicken was seriously overcooked… but the palata was super yummy with the curry sauce!

One of the worst coconut chicken soups I ever had. Watery with an old chopped up egg on the side and sour tasting chicken. Seriously. But, the lunch special started off okay, it came with a tasty samosa, and plain yogurt drink, then it went downhill from there. A lot of bones in their unfresh fish. They gave me the collar part. And then they gave me a whole bunch of cabbage for the vegetables that just tasted boiled in oil with a ton of white pepper dumped on it. I really didn’t appreciate them saying they would NOT give me a to-go box even when I offered to pay $ 1 for it. They said I had to eat everything here. Are you for real? Poor food and poor customer service. With so many Burmese restaurants I will not be back. I’ll spend my $ 35 elsewhere, thanks.

Holy smokes I was surprised the food here was that good! It really exceeded my expectations. I came here years ago, but only tried one dish and was not too interested in coming back. But my friend wanted to eat here recenlty so I decided to give it another shot. Their mango salad was delicious! It had a very sweet and savory, light and refreshing taste to it. The garlic noodles with chicken was super tasty as well. The egg curry with okra goes pretty well with a side order of palata. Another winner was the coconut chicken noodle soup… one of my favorite Burmese dishes to order. I think they used egg noodles, which is a little different from other Burmese restaurants. The spicy fish was above average and the chicken biriani was excellent. The entire meal was one delicious bite after another. This was one meal that left me thinking… amazing! Little Yangon is a hidden gem for Burmese food. This little restaurant is located at Top of the hill, Daly City. If you aren’t looking for it, you could easily miss it. I came here for a late lunch on Saturday and it was not crowded at all. If you want some delicious Burmese food and don’t want to wait for a table at the popular Burmese restaurants in the city, this is the place to go!

I came here with high hopes after hearing my co-worker rave about their food. Keeping in mind that they have a daily lunch special menu for $ 5 my parents and I came for lunch and ordered A LOT. +Tea leaf salad– tea leaf was pretty bitter, but maybe that’s how it’s suppose to be? +Tofu salad– yummy! Esp with the fried onions on top +Samosa– really good, generous portions(comes with five huge pieces) and good dipping sauce +Moh hinga– too much noodle not enough soup, had to mix in the complimentary broth that came with the lunch special. I’ve have better +Nan pya– pretty good, generous portions. +Fried squash– wouldnt order again, SOOO much batter, oily, and the squash is really thin. +Tea leaf rice– good but a little bitter +Burmese lamb curry– ordered it and it never came. It’s ok though we were pretty full already Our experience was just ok, but for the price you can’t beat it! Would come back to try their other items. Oh yes get the milk tea! So good.
