Never again! Took car for an oil change, they didn’t put a washer back and left a faulty filter so ended up with oil on my garage floor and had to spend more time taking the car back to get job done properly. Mistakes happen so didn’t complain. Took our second car for a tire rotation and oil change… They didn’t put the covers back on the wheel nuts or the center disk back on one wheel. Car came away with very noisy road noise from the tires so I now have to take it to the Audi dealership to see if there is a problem. This place takes no care in checking if the job is done well, or even finished properly. After having to take both cars back to get the jobs completed satisfactorily, I mentioned this on the second visit… No apology! Just told me that they had been in business for forty years, as if that made their slackness okay! We will NEVER go back to them as there are plenty of alternative places.

50% markup on their tires compared to tire rack. Their installation prices are about 100% more than the average in the area. Salesmen did not make me feel comfortable with the purchase.

Rip off! Service technicians are a bunch of arrogant kids that are sloppy and downright incompetent. Tires are priced ridiculously high, up to 40% more than Mavis, Town Faire, BJ’s, Costco. Take it in for an oil change and experience the funniest up sell in Danbury. These guys are losers. And you will be too, if you allow them to service your vehicle.

The customer service is terrible at Mohawk. Came in because my service engine light was on. I told them I went to Autozone and had the code read. They told me they would not go on with that code and that they needed to do their own diagnostics. Owner seemed paranoid and suspicious for no good reason. They added they would charge me $ 109 for diagnostics (to just give me the same info Autozone did for free). Don’t come here! You will get mistreated and ripped off.

Odd noise from my tires… turned our tires had worn unevenly… Al recommended 4 new tires, balance and alignment. Left my vehicle late Friday afternoon, came back 8am Saturday morning… everything taken care of. Professional, very knowledgeable, at a very competitive cost. Free rotation and balance for life of tires/​vehicle! Thanks to Al and team… I will be back!

I think for emissions, you’re safe in going here. They can handle that and the price is fixed, so there shouldn’t be any problems. Beyond that though, think twice before taking your car here.
I took my car in and specifically asked them to consider the fuel pump as the problem based on passed experience with this car. Instead, they ignored my suggestion/​hint and charged me $ 220 for an incorrect diagnosis (they told us the transmission was going) and a couple of gaskets. The car still ran like garbage UNTIL the fuel pump was replaced a few days later (NOT by Mohawk) and now the car runs better than ever.
They don’t listen to their customers, so they don’t care about their customers. They just want to get your money and move you on out. Waste of time and money going to this place. Can’t believe they’ve been in business as long as they have. They’re fooling somebody.

I have been to Mohawk West for headlines and emissions. In each case they were quick, professional and reasonably priced. I recently went to have my front brakes looked at and replaced. I was told my evaluation would take 30 minutes. I was not looked until an hour and a half later. By the time all was done I have been there for two and a half hours. I was not happy, it was a classic case on over-​promising and under-​delivering. They ought to either hire front of the business help or offer a local shuttle to avoid people waiting.
Now, on the bright side of a bad experience, the owner-​operator gave me a discount on my bill and was genuinely apologetic. His team does quality work and at least for the first 30 +/​-​miles the car feels great. My recommendation is wait for the small stuff, and get a ride for the larger jobs.

I recently bought a car from out of state and needed to get an emissions test done so I went to Mohawk Auto Center. The people were very polite and took my car right away — I was out of the shop with my emissions report in 10 minutes.
The original certification got lost in the mail to the dealership and they requested I mail another original copy to them. I was afraid I would have to get the whole test done again but Mohawk just printed out the certificate again for me and were very nice about it.
A great place to go if you need a quick and easy emissions test done in West Danbury.

I came here for a ct car emissions test since it was close to my apt. It was easy to find but I pulled into the car wash driveway by accident. There’s some heavier traffic near the intersection where they’re located.
The staff is apathetic but not rude. They processed info and the guy at the counter gave me provoked advice about the ct registration. I could try using a PDF of my ct insurance. Some would take it. Some wouldn’t.
The test is about 10 minutes (they say 15 – 20 min) and you pay $ 20 cash. There’s even a monitor showing your car as it’s in the garage so you can sit inside and see what’s happening. There’s only one monitor that shows one car in the emissions test.
There was 1 person getting an emission test when I arrived so it took an extra 15 min or so to wait. It wasn’t packed on sat at 11:45.
In the end the guy that tested my car gave me the info and was very nice.
Great experience! Can’t ask for more. Quick, easy and getting what you need.
