Service department got it wrong. Wanted to replace entire regulator until I found spare part widely available online. Then they refused to order it and would not let me bring in the part. Wasted many hours and three drive trips to depressing store. Many better alternatives nearby.

depressing shopping experience. The minimal staff on site seemed to be on tranquilizers.

Stopped in wanting to check out a certain item. Waited over 20 minutes and no one approached me while I was in the area. Looks like they only have staff working the cash register. Smaller than most divers direct and not a large selection of items. This was surprising since it is next to a large bass pro and museum.

Very friendly and helpful staff! Lots of options. Went for a wetsuit, was immediately helped, very well informed and helpful without them pushing anything. Will definitely go back for any of my dive gear needs!

This is, by far, my favorite dive shop. Not because it provides any better service than other shops but that they have a huge selection. Its the diving superstore. In addition to the products they carry, they have daily training going on and have recommendations for local dive boats. The store is also stocked with free diving equipment as well as camera equipment. It’s well worth the drive if you are close.

Best selection of equipment and clothes I’ve ever seen, but way overpriced when compared to other stores. Sales staff is okay, but I would only return if I had too.

I’m new to diving and the lady here helped me get set up for my first certified dive. She was informative, patient, and helpful. I recommend shopping here!

I’ve worked in the customer service industry for years and I can tell you when I’ve notices great service and when I’ve noticed poor service. I came into the store to ask a few questions about a christmas gift i have received and i had a wonderful associate name hal or hall who took me through the mask section. I have a non typical bone sturucutre and its quite difficult to find a mask, I’ve never had one that didn’t leak. Not only did Half professionally fit me(we tried on at least 40masks until I found the perfect one) but I learned a lot about diving in the process, also the prices are great, they are right what you would see on amazon. Overall I will be back to divers direct.

In the final analysis, Jay Little, general manager made it happen, and that is what counts. Had some initial disappointment on getting their Ultra Lobster Kit. He special ordered another one in from another store 4 me. Don’t settle 4 less than the best, or be fooled by what Outdoor World sells 4 a few dollars less. The curved tickle stick(sold separately too) is so critical to getting lobsters out of their tight holes, and their flat edge and larger frame on the bully net gives you a better chance of getting them in your net, vs the curved edge net, smaller frame in OW’s bully net or the straight stick they have in their lobster kit. DD rules!

This was my first visit to this store and immediately I realized there were two different types of employees there. The only reason I am not rating this place a one star is because of an employee named Hall, without his helped I would have left the store with a purchase I didn’t feel comfortable with which could have lead to a bad dive experience. But instead I left purchasing things I didn’t even plan on getting. The first time I asked for help a young employee, which in his benefit I do not recall his name«helped me» by simply pointing at the section which I would need to pick my own gear and then briefly went over a point or two. He then said«ok now I’m going home now». I felt like he just wanted to leave and be done. I am grateful that Hall was working that evening and he is the only reason I will be coming back. I wish they could hire more hospitable and knowledgable like Hall.

Disappointed. I went to DD5 times in 5 months. I’ve needed new fins, mask, dive light, regulator bag, weights, knife straps, etc etc etc. I’m a dive junky. What did I buy. 20lbs of weight. I went elsewhere for the other purchases. Why? In 5 trips, I was greeted by someone at the front once. Someone always comes up and ask if I’m being helped, but if not an immediate sale they disappear and never return. I was excited to visit this huge dive store, but quickly realized a 3rd of the store was clothing/tshirts and sandals… Not why I go to a dive store. The selections are limited to a few brands. Not all bad. I’m just a stickler for good customer service. I now shop at local dive stores. They know my name and want my business. I should have read all the reviews before shopping here.

One of the best retail experiences I’ve had in a long, long time. First, their selection is incredible. Apart from a minor item not in my size, we shopped snorkeling equipment for an entire family. Our sales guy, Joe, was super knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the products. So nice to see employees that care about the sport and about their customers. Stuff in all price ranges, with everything being excellent quality. Clean dressing rooms, clean bathrooms, and a large store. Full five stars!

Divers Direct has always been my go-to store for scuba diving accessories, gadgets, and beach wear. I started as a customer at their original store down in Key Largo, and shifted to the store in the Ft. Lauderdale area after that opened. You’ll find Divers Direct in the same retail shopping area as Bass Pro Shops /Outdoor World, and their shop sits just to the south along I-95. DD is part of a chain of dive stores that can be found from Orlando south into the Keys. They cater to scuba divers, snorkelers, and visitors to South Florida who want to enjoy the beach and the local waters. Inside you’ll find lots of themed t-shirts, swimwear, beach towels, and sandals, but more importantly you’ll find scuba tanks, buoyancy compensators, regulators, wetsuits, masks, fins, and snorkels, and all kinds of gadgets and accessories. If you’re new to diving then the folks at Divers Direct can set you up with your initial lessons, and advance you through the different levels of becoming a certified scuba diving professional. In addition to the retail store and dive classes, they also offer recreational diving options in the area as well as organized dive vacations in other parts of the world. It’s always fun to stop in their store and look at the new clips and lights and assorted gadgets, as well as pick up a new mask or whatever is needed in your dive bag.

Was a bit surprised reading the comments about the store. Guess it’s all relative. I live in the northeast and I can’t begin to imagine where I’d to go to find as wide a selection of dive gear(and reasonably-priced, quality beach gear) in one place. For that reason, any time I’m in Ft. Lauderdale or Key Large, a visit to Diver’s Direct is one of the highlights of my trip. I’m not sure if I’m a «true diver»(I’ve been diving for 30 years all over the world), but I really enjoy browsing a a nice, big beautiful store stocked with tons of great dive gear. Besides the store, is my go-to website for dive gear. I start there, do some comparison shopping and 90% of the time make my purchase from there. If there’s any problem with my purchase, DD is quick to make it right. I really like dealing with these folks. Wish they had a store in my area.

I need to agree with the others… Nice, big beautiful store. ‘Looks like a Dick’s or Sports Authority… Very friendly staff(except for the older gentleman who asks lady customers for their phone numbers…) . But for true divers, this store isn’t worth the drive at all. As the store’s reply to other reviews has stated, they have a large«lifestyle» section, meaning a ton of t-shirts and carp… Really, do they think a diver is going to drive out of their way for a $ 20 TShirt? That’s what online and souvenir shops are for… Unfortunately I honestly can’t think of any reason to drive there(8 miles for me) when they really don’t have anything that the numerous other LDS don’t already have. For a shop this big, in this location, to succeed, there has to be a reason to go there… a «destination» … Unfortunately this isn’t it. Go see it if you’re in the area(like going to/from the airport), but it probably isn’t worth the drive. It is a nice, clean shop with lots to look at. But it is a retail store with stuff, and absolutely NOT a big dive shop.

This is a great site for gear! I ordered a wet suit and it came in as advertised, within days and when I called them to ask them a question before I clicked submit, they answered the phone(what a concept) via a toll free number right away, no waiting on-hold answered my question and the deal was done. The wet suit was so well priced, no body could come close!

Just received our order of a snorkel mask for my husband with installed prescription lenses. We are very pleased to have ordered this for a huge cost savings. I was a little unclear about the product features but called and had a very pleasant woman explain more to me so I placed the order. It showed up as back ordered for color so I emailed to ask if it was delayed or cancelled and was told it would ship later in the week. As a business practice they could email a customer when there process says back ordered but overall and with no hurry in needing this item — very pleased with product, price and overall transaction.

This place is good, not great. If they got rid of all of the t-shirts and bikini’s and added more specific dive equipment like better bcd’s and technical dive stuff it would be much better. A big drawback for me is that you can only get 32% EAN. I wish that they would upgrade and offer any mix up to 40% at least. The prices are fair when you consider the shipping costs of on-line stores. Their steel tanks normally are over priced but DiversDirect does price match, so no problem!

This place really sucks. It’s like the Kmart of dive shops. You can’t even call this a dive shop because they don’t rent any gear. Their nitrox machine is always broken, and the compressors are always down. The fills always come up short, which can be very frustrating when your getting charges $ 10 a fill. I live 2 miles from Divers Direct, but I drive all the way to Fill Express in Pompano which is more than 20 miles.

Reasonable prices, large selection and knowledgeable staff. I found two pair of marked down fins that I believe will be more comfortable than the ones I have now. Didn’t need to spend the money but it was such a good deal. I couldn’t pass it up. Daughter is going to use the wetsuit for both diving and surfing. Friendly Mike Jones did a great job leading us to the right fit. It’s a fun location right next to Bass Pro Shop so we stayed for dinner. Great sushi and a nice view. Then there’s the Fishing Museum next to Bass Pro. You can spend a day dreaming and preparing about the water even if you can’t go out on it that minute. Other fun tips @keepUpBicycling

Great place, great people, lots of help with your dive questions, lots of like minded people, and great prices!!! I usually shop around for my dive items and they tend to be very fairly priced!(Plus I get my items instantly as opposed to waiting for them to get shipped or pay more at other dive shops.)
