Great sushi awesome service and a wonderful atmosphere. Our server Shannon is fantastic and so is most of the staff. My only complaint is I kept hearing one server bitch about her tables. Like if you don’t like your job then move on.

This was a disappointing visit — attended the Volvo tennis tournament and after walked across the street to try. Reggae music loudly in an Asian restaurant ~ different — waitress was rude and seemed irritated by our questions. After the appetizer — which was good — lettuce wraps — she disappeared for 30 minutes. We had to ask for her and it was another 10 minutes before I caught eyes with her and asked her to come over. Food is very mediocre — for the price — fried rice very dry and no taste. Not worth the money spent.

Yuuuummmmm. This place really hit the spot. Had some fresh, delicious Salmon Nigiri and a Spicy Shrimp Maki Roll for lunch today. I sat in their large brick patio space overlooking a pond with a fountain. Today was the perfect day for outdoor dining and Wasabi didn’t disappoint. Some of the best sushi I’ve had as of late. Will definitely be coming here again — just wish they had a larger lunch menu/lunch specials for sushi. Not everyone wants a bento box or chicken teriyaki.

Tried this place for the 1st time on a business trip. Did the peppered steak bowl and a side of edamame. Steak was tender and tasty on a bed of brown rice. It’s hard to screw up edamame so it was good also. Fast food that’s good food. Check it out. Fair price also.

Poor ambiance. Poor food. Oku is much better. We got the few items and generally was poor. Saki served in a Marini glass Rice less sushi costs extra and just has not rice. The rolls then are just a slop that fall apart. Spoke to the maitre D who pretended she couldn’t understand me.

Good food, a bit overpriced, but the atmosphere is awesome, especially for dinner. We love sushi… But prefer Fuji in Mount Pleasant for the value.

I stopped at Wasabi for a quick lunch and sat outside on the patio. The lunch bento box was middling. The chicken teriyaki was simply chunks of chicken is a bottled sauce. There was some shredded cabbage underneath, but no other vegetables. I did enjoy the tempura vegetables — they were hot and crispy. The service was the most disappointing aspect of the meal. The food came out quickly, but my waitress never came back by to check on me. I waited about 15 minutes after finishing before finally asking the hostess to get my check. This was a pain, especially since I was trying to eat during my lunch hour. Overall, not a terrible experience, but the so-so food wasn’t worth the hassle.

Great food, service and atmosphere. They have thai, hibachi, sushi and chineese. Very diverse selection but everyrhing is good. Great atmosphere and a good happy hour scene at the bar with live music sometimes.

GOTOVERCHARGEDONPURPOSEBYTHEMANAGER!!! Only got $ 2 back not what the receipt said I should get! Ordered some sushi to go. I totally understand rounding of change, but you should round in favor of the guest and not the other way around. Basically I got overcharged is what it comes down to. It’s only a few cents, but it’s the principle of the thing. For this reason, I do not recommend this place because the customer should always come first, clearly here, it’s the other way around. This comes from someone who tours around the country and sees many places where the customer comes first. Make sure you count your change and make sure you get charged for only what you ordered!

Dining room was well appointed. Wait staff was excellent. They made great recommendations for wine and the service was outstanding! Sushi was fresh and tasty! Looked like it was ready for a photo shoot. They have a nice bar and outside seating area.

Went here with a rather large group. Was put in a separate dining room which was great. This is not one of those japanese places that do the show. But they did have a varied menu. There were about 11 of us. Appetizers we tried were the calamari(just ok, a bit soggy), and the fried dumplings(very good). As an entrée, most orderd the hibachi. Several had over cooked steaks(ordered MR received medium to med well). The shrimp was well cooked and flavorful. The vegetables were excellent, and the fried rice was very good. The salads were also very good as well as the soup. One person had the Red chicken curry and that was very good as well. Waitress was attentive and checks were pretty good, only mix up was with who paid for what appetizer. Biggest disappointment was I tried to pay with a VISA rewards/gift card and that that was declined even though I had just activated it.

Good atmosphere inside and out. Food is very well decorated and portioned… Also the food quality is unmatched to other Japanese restaurant,(might have something to do with the location located next to Family Circle stadium in Daniel Island.) it’s definitely worth a trip to experience!

I can’t say enough about this place. The food is delicious but the staff is wonderful. I visit my niece about ever 3 months. We either dine in or take home. Either way this place seems to care for you. We have a 6, 5 and two year that are treated super well and are remembered, no matter how much soy sauce gets dripped. The atmosphere is casual, nice jeans and shirt and some diners dress up.

Wasabi falls in line with many of the Japanese restaurants in the Charleston area. Americanized Sushi, Hibachi entrees, and now some Thai Entrees as well. I believe I have only ever been here for lunch, which is actually a pretty good deal for the many folks that work out on Daniel Island. My pad thai was tasty, the only detractors were on the slow and inattentive service and a sushi selection did not really appeal to me. However, I was happy with my pad thai and will certainly be back next time I’m nearby.

My favorite place for pad thai. More important they have a great cocktail hour. $ 2 beers and when the weather is nice a great inside/outside bar. Staff is great and mgr John always stops and says hello. They do a great job with social marketing so sign up on their facebook page for upcoming specials and deals. This place is worth the trip to Daniel Island great relaxed atmosphere. Oh and if you are looking for an inexpensive lunch place this fits the bill. I believe it’s an $ 8.88 bento lunch box

Love their sushi rolls and cocktails. Also, you must try their spicy shrimp pad Thai. All around great sushi place. Great lunch prices, dinner is a little on the expensive side. If you like spicy, then do the Hanami Roll. The SCAM Roll is also delicious. Good service, good food. Try it out!

I’m torn between a 2 and 3 star review here. The sushi is really not that great and I’ve found myself questioning the quality of the fish a few times in my spicy tuna roll — you KNOW the feeling you get when you’re suddenly not so sure how you feel about that spicy tuna roll, we all do — this is never a good thing. Ever. They have decent lunch deals, but their dinner prices are a bit high for what I think it’s worth. The interior is nice and I have no complaints with the service. When there are concerts at Family Circle this place gets nutso and getting there earlier is always the better idea. Overall Wasabi is alright. It’s convenient for lunch on DI and the prices are good for lunch — dinner is another story.

Johnny Dreams of Sushi… I know a bit about sushi, and this place is 5 star as far as I am concerned. The dishes are inventive, but all the staples are present too. Sea urchin and toro rarities are often on the menu as well. The bar is well stocked and usually flanked by live music when the weather is nice. The restrooms are clean — that’s important to me. The manager is very friendly and makes sure you feel welcomed. I dine or take out twice each week. One thing definitely worth mentioning is they have REAL wasabi, but you have to ask for it… Turns out, all that wasabi you had before was akin to imitation crabmeat. The real thing has a far more complex flavor that compliments the sashimi in ways I cannot articulate.
