100% of the time I have ever bought any kind of fried chicken here(chicken fingers, popcorn chicken, chicken sandwhich) it is so overcooked and chewy, it is inedible. I understand you don’t want to give people food poisoning from uncooked chicken, but can you at least not cook it into a rubber hose?

I feel like the produce is good here, and they have a good seafood selection. I also love that you can make your own 6-pack, as they have beer/wine. For convenience, the beer selection is good. It’s also conveniently located on the way home from work for me, and I like that I can scoot to Homegoods after. However, having worked in retail as my first job, I know good customer service. Tonight, I was shopping in a hurry, trying to avoid a crying baby. I found more than I thought I would(of course) and she was just starting to fuss in line. The woman bagging my stuff left halfway through, not sure where she went. The cashier finished my order, bagged everything left himself, and I paid. As I was struggling to figure out how I was going to get everything under my stroller and to the car, the woman came back. They both watched me as I tried to cram everything under the stroller, baby now crying, and myself visibility frustrated. «Have a nice night,» he ironically said as he set my receipt down and started the next order. I was still trying to get everything situated, but now I was getting more confused because the next customer’s stuff was blending with mine. I walked away to the woman bagging complaining that she still had 4 hours left. I would have just liked an offer to help; if not, just wait like 10 seconds while me and sleepy baby get out of the way before starting the next order. That’s all. Don’t make me feel like an inconvenience. Market Basket is about half the price and they have basically forced me to let them help me and baby to my car; they even loaded it for me. Unless I need one thing quick in the future, or I am already going to Homegoods, I won’t be back to this location. I will drive the extra 15 minutes to MB.

The place is shiney & clean. BUT… If you want to be degraded for using coupons this is the place… esp by Cheryl or Mary. They dont honor the full amount of the coupon, they dont/wont let you to get free items since they beleive youre scamming them. They will begin an agruement about it in front of other customers & workers. The customer service booth is closed in the morning so its not beneficial if you go in prior to work.

Yes, it’s clean, has good produce and a solid deli, but the prices just keep climbing and climbing. Go to Market Basket and a butchery shop instead to save yourself at least $ 10-$ 20/week.

I always shopped here for convenience, as it was close to home. Switched to Market Basket. Prices are MUCH cheaper.

I like stop & shop mostly because it is so clean and bright. I do think, however, that it is really expensive unless you’ve spend hours cutting coupons and only bough on-sale items, which I never have time to do either. I often come here if I’m in the area and need a little something real quick. But otherwise, I stick to Market Basket. Much cheaper for the same stuff, although its smaller and maybe a little bit more crowded, I’d rather go someplace like that and save $$, especially on big shopping trips :)

I hate the set up of this store. I hate the prices. However, I do like the corn muffins and the cold cuts. Basically I go to Market Basket for the cheap prices and get whatever I can’t find there at Stop and Shop.

«Super Stop and Shop» Hmm? The Super is a tad misleading. This was my first experience with the chain and it nothing special. The prices are a high and selection is not the greatest. The do carry Boars Head brands in the deli section and they offer a service that allows you to place your order and they call you when it is ready which is sweet. The service is good and the staff is friendly. I think they should change the name to just Average Stop & Shop.

I hate this store. I only stop here when I absolutely have to pick up something. They don’t even stock their shelves and it really, really pisses me off when I make a special stop and they don’t have the item I need. I’m not talking some obscure item either. I think one time it was Thomas English muffins(I am addicted to them). Another time, it was something like fresh parsley that I needed for some recipe. Another time, a special stop here for a Carvel Icecream cake… NOPE, on sale and no more in the freezer. The bakery people act like they don’t know why you would have the audacity to stop at the bakery counter to ask a question like, «can i order a cake»? There are 20 checkout counters and only 1 with a live, working person checking people out. Avoid this store if you can.

Elaine, I agree with you. The muffins and pastries at Stop & Shop are OK, a bit better than Shaw’s And Josie, tell me one Stop and Shop location that doesn’t have a «Super» in front of it’s name. All of them are the same Josie.
