Ok so here it goes, my co-workers and I decided to try a new place so we came to Topp Salad and let me tell you it was AMAZING !!! I walked in and it was so clean and everything was displayed very nicely. The only CON I found was the employees. The gentleman waiting on me wasn’t so bad but, no smile, no eye contact, no have a good day… nothing. on to being rang in No eye contact what so ever no type of communication, they are just sitting there having a conversation between themselves. As I am leaving i look at them and say thank you have a good day, no response did not even look up… So I think the food was amazing and i would go back there but i think the employees need a meeting on how to deal with customers. So i would gibe the food 5 stars but employees dropped it to a 3.

I just had lunch here for the first time and got the Premium Southwest Salad. The chicken was tender, the avocados fresh and the combination of ingredients outstanding. If you like a little bit more of a kick to the flavor ask them to go heavy on the dressing. Overall a great experience and enjoyed talking with the operators — good people!

Love this place! So different from everything else around here. The produce is always fresh and there are plenty of ingredients to choose from to make your salad just perfect! The price is decent for the size. You can get a cheaper salad at other places but certainly not with the full selection of fruits veggies and proteins. They also offer brown rice for wraps and also hot soups.

I’ve never seen so many cheap and ignorant people leave weak reviews for this place! One guy said he got diarrhea within 30 minutes of eating there. There’s a stupid review. Food doesn’t travel that fast buddy. You’re an idiot. People are complaining it’s too expensive? The food is prepped. It costs money to keep a building up and running. People that work there need to get paid. Go to McDonalds and spend $ 2 on a couple of Mcdoubles. Cheap people don’t understand the costs involved in running a business. And they don’t complain about a $ 15 pizza right? Yeah, let that resonate. I love the idea. I absolutely loved the food and I’m making my way back here as often as I can because I work for a living and can afford a healthy meal. BOOM that just happened. And to the other idiot trying to sound smart by using his vast vernacular and his vituperative manner, go buy a 20 dollar pizza you moose. Yup, happened again.

Yes, it’s higher priced than McDonalds. If you’re looking for an incredibly cheap meal and don’t care about your health, please visit any of the other establishments on this road, there are PLENTY that can meet that demand. It’s around 10 $ or more for a healthy, but incredibly fresh and filling salad, which in my opinion is well worth it. There aren’t enough places like this around that can whip you up a meal that is actually good for you in a relatively quick amount of time. We have an obesity problem in this country for a reason… unhealthy meals are much more readily available. So excited that ToppSalad is here and I hope they continue to thrive. I’ve created-my-own salad before and tried the Buffalo chicken salad. They are proactive about asking you how much dressing, etc. you want on it, which is perfect, because everyone’s demands are slightly different.

Wavered between 2 and 3 stars for this review update, and went with 3 because the quality is actually good the vast majority of the time. Have been back a BUNCH of times just due to convenience, and only had a few hiccups(no wheat wraps once, my wheat wrap completely fell apart once, nothing major). The croutons and sunflower seeds have been stale a few times, but not always. My chief complaint is still price — and it must be a common enough beef that they lowered their prices and advertised the change on the sign out front. But then they also changed how many things you can put on the salad from 5 toppings to 4. So really, if you keep getting the salad you got before, you’ll pay the same price. To me, this seems a bit deceptive(plus, those clean, modern signs made a lot of impact and the hand-written ones taped over it are tacky), and I really thought it was a poor move. Secondly, maybe you wouldn’t need such high prices if the staffing made sense. IMO there are way too many people working there. EVERY time I’m there, people are hanging around, talking to each other, bored, or even once I saw someone come up from the kitchen with a spoon and go to a person working the line and say«try this». If costs are high, I’d look to the schedule first. I’ve been coming a lot less, just because I simply cannot do $ 14+ for a salad and a seltzer. And that whole«lowering prices(but not really)» thing just disappointed me. One additional star — to maintain their 3 — for the quality of the ingredients. NEVER had a gristly chicken or a nasty meal. I would keep prices as they are, take croutons of the«items» list(seriously, croutons count as one of your 4 things? How much do croutons cost?) so that you can have 4ACTUAL toppings. I think that’s a small change that might count for a lot; I know I wouldn’t feel so ripped off. Paying $ 45+ for 3 salads hurts me in my soul.

I would give it five stars if they had iceberg lettuce. I’m okay with the other choices but I like iceberg better. The buffalo salad is good and it’s not fried which I like. Service was great. They had 5 people working the counter so my order was ready very fast.

Fourth star for quality because nothing matters more. Very clean inside. Good variety of items for your salad or wrap. I had a wrap and found it rather awkward and the wrapping process was unappealing. Most of the cut items are a bit to large for a wrap. I thought the kid was fighting with a wild animal to wrap it. «Hey man you’re killing my sandwich». Pricey compared to Fresh City. A wrap with one protein(chicken) with ice tea was $ 14.

They have a lot of these type of lunch places in NYC and I always wondered why they don’t have them in Massachusetts. They are quick, healthy, and perfect for lunch. I love a salad bar that puts the salad together for you instead of a traditional salad bar where every Tom, Dick, and Harry is picking through things, sneezing, or touching stuff with their dirty hands. Plus they don’t weigh it(thank god) because I love avocado and chopped egg which would cost me a fortune. It’s all one set price so you don’t have to skimp on the heavier yummy ingredients. Ya it’s a bit pricey, but they have fresh ingredients and honestly a local sub place is about $ 6-$ 9 depending on the sub. Plus the local sub place salads are around $ 8 and you’re only getting crappy iceberg lettuce, onion, and one mealy piece of tomato. For a dollar more my waistline is better off choosing Topp Salad. Plus the salad is good size with quality lettuce choices and topping choices. I’ve been eating here at least twice a week for lunch and I wish they were closer to where I work! I’d be here every day.

Ordered Steakhouse salad. Had diarrhea 30 – 40 minutes later. Never a good sign. Wife had salad with shrimp. She was okay. $ 33 for 2 sodas and 2 salads. A bit much! My salad was not crisp at all. Something I look for when expecting a premium salad. I applaud the healthy choice they offer on this fast food strip of road. Won’t be back here.

Great concept, awful execution. Located along a strip of fast food drive-thrus and chain restaurants, ToppSalad’s vision for fast casual lighter fare should be the perfect fit — and it’s only because of that it draws business. As an experience, it should be tossed. With so many options to choose from, being rushed is a real downer. I don’t understand why they were in such a rush either, because it took far too long to get my salad after I was hurried through the line. The salad I did receive was 50% dressing, soaked to the point forkfuls would drip. What was salvageable was only mediocre at best — it didn’t seem fresh, and their preset steak salad had caramelized onions overpowered all other flavors. There was also barely a couple ounces of steak chopped to bits in the salad. Which isn’t okay for a $ 13+ salad. For two salads, I paid nearly $ 30 and the quality was poor(not at all comparable to a $ 15 salad at a real restaurant) and a portion was thrown away due to being inedible.

Great salads that are customizable. I live in the city and this place is just as good as any of the places in boston. I’m picky! They have avocado to smash in, quinoa to add some nice nutty consistency, and even a fresh lime or lemon squeeze just like sweetgreen! LOVED the apple cider vinaigrette the girl recommended! I’ll 100% be back when in the area! So glad my mom recommended and brought me here:) tone it up approved! great staff and super helpful! Ya!

Fast, friendly, and fresh. Tons of options. Would’ve given 5 stars but for the lack of parking during the busy lunch rush and the prices. My salad and a can of seltzer cost over $ 16. Granted, I added chicken, avocado, and goat cheese. I think it would be possible to keep it closer to $ 10 without the ad-ons.

Great salads and variety of toppings. Good tastes fresh and dressings were just the right balance. I love flavor and freshness… This place has all of it! The 1 factor that kept me from giving 5 stars? The price. I know in America nutrition is expensive while calories are cheap, and this place is a vivid reminder of this fact. Just 2 doors down from Top Salad is a Wendy’s, Taco Bell, and McDonald’s. A large meal at any of those places is under $ 7.00. My salad, 6 toppings and water was just north of $ 14,00. I’m hoping for the day when you will be able to get a healthy meal with a modicum of nutritional value without having to wince at the final cost! Great food though and I hope they really do well!’

I loved the places in Boston that have a similar concept and they were easy to interact with. But, not a Topp Salad. I so wanted to love this place because I live on the north shore and like salad! First the good: Clean, fresh looking Vegtables and meat. Nice attendants and quick. Now the bad: when I asked for extra dressing(the little cups with dressing are small) and offered to pay for it(I had just spent $ 15.00 on salad) I was told that they would give me a second one«this time». Uh? This was the owner. Sigh. Didn’t want to eat my salad without dressing in the middle. Secondly, I called to order take out after looking on their web site to see if one can order on line(you can’t). I was told they don’t accept calls for take out. Too bad. Great concept for the north shore. Will have to wait for the competition to move in.

Excited to see a salad specific restaurant come to Danvers, however not super impressed. The veggie selection is large and very fresh, but for the price I would have hoped they were at least organic or local(paid $ 30 for two salads). My husband had fruit in his salad and he said it was crisp and ripe. The facility was very clean. The staff extremely pleasant and informative of their menu. Not sure I’ll go back though. I’d rather spend that kind of money at Life Alive in Salem.

I was excited about this place, I love a gourmet salad, or so I thought I would be getting. I paid almost 11 dollars for a southwestern salad with no protein and no drink. A bit steep for a salad that doesn’t boost local or organic ingredients. The staff was very polite and efficient. The place was clean, however it was very hot while waiting in line, I felt some coolness when I was standing at the pickup, However, the rest of the place was so hot, I got my food to go. The salad was ok, I liked the recipe, not super crispy though. The dressing was extremely greasy, I wouldn’t order it again. Not sure I would go out of my to go there again either. If I am going to pay restaurant prices for a fast food salad, I may as well take a load off and eat it a restaurant.

My husband and I had our first experience at Topp Salad tonight. The place is modern and clean and the menu is simple. Prices were a little high in my opinion, especially considering nothing was organic. But they have a lot of fresh ingredients, proteins(steak, chicken, shrimp) and dressings to choose from. Both my husband and I are vegetarians, so we got the Southwest Salad without chicken(greens, corn, black beans, onions and avocado). The salad was good, but not amazing. For two salads and two drinks we paid $ 30. They also don’t have a kids menu and our 4 year old won’t eat enough salad to be considered a meal. I would think about coming here again, but by myself and for lunch.

Very good. Similar to Sweetgreen in downtown Boston, but with a twist all its own. Ventured here as it is close to my work. They have quite a few of salad choices on the menu and even offer a build-your-own sort of deal. Really enjoyed the Topp Buffalo salad bowl(wrap is also an option), which featured flavorful chunks of chicken breast, crumbled blue cheese, cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, as well as a tangy yet spicy buffalo sauce. Definitely will be a regular lunch spot for me!
