I dined at Golden Leaf Bistro on a Tuesday night while in Danville for work. I had the Summer Spinach salad, the Blackened Mahi Mahi(with risotto) and a glass of wine. They seated us right away, the waiter(Matt) was great. The food was all delicious! The salad was great starter – the walnuts were sort of candied and delicious and the fruit was very fresh. Then, the Mahi was a PERFECT portion – I ate it all and didn’t feel heavy leaving. ANDTHERISOTTO – SOCREAMYANDYUMMYANDCHEESY! I may have dreamed about it that night. I will be returning to Golden Leaf the next time I return to Danville.

My husband and I had lunch here after taking the Millionaire Row Walking Tour. Great food! Loved the stuffed chicken with risotto! I had the Summer Salad also which was very fresh-strawberries etc. Outdoor seating was nice also. They have alot of music booked for all summer. Very nice staff.

In town for race weekend at VIR. Amazing food and service! My husband and I had the Blackened Mahi and the Stuffed Chicken and can’t recommend this place highly enough. Thank you Josh for your great service and suggestions. Next time we are in Danville we will make sure to come again!

We came for lunch. The meal was outstanding and elegantly presented. Home made dressing and freshly cooked ingredients. It’s quaint, peaceful and away from the hustle and bustle. Wish more places were like this. Our waiter, Alec, was outstanding!

I found myself in Danville VA and of course on a Wednesday which I did not realize restaurants would not be open this day. It’s a small industrial town so I guess not many nightly diners. This was Only upscale restaurant with bar. As a professional traveler I prefer sitting at the bar alone for dinner. Bartender was lovely very encouraging on her specific diner choices. Which were not at all what I would like, but because she reminded me of my grandmother due to her age I respected her. I am totally for hiring retirees! I ordered spinach salad w dressing on side which was ¾ oil and rest dressing hard to pour out a thing but oil. And spinach was full of long string stems, most restaurants would trim off for $ 6 a salad(not included w meal) I went with scallop shrimp over grits entrée. Wow such a disappointment. I struggled deciding my entrée as I had wanted Blackened Mahi which bartender explained to me Mahi was good only day it was arrived and Wed apparently not that day! The Scallops were seared but not cooked entirely through. Shrimp tasted old. Overall two glasses of wine spinach salad and scallop dinner 50+ but wine was happy hour. In my opinion over priced for quality in small town. Buy less and run out but keep fresh stuff! Just my opinion…

Definitely a great place for dinner, and a great spot for a date. Oysters were fried perfectly, and prime rib was tender, though I was looking for it to be more seasoned and seared. Mojito was perfectly made… snuck up on me a little! Have visited Golden Leaf often, great restaurant in the heart of downtown Danville.

We are traveling here from Los Angeles and we were completely blown away by the service and food here. Amy was the sweetest waitress I’ve ever had and our steak, chicken, and risotto were HEAVENLY! Thank you so much for the fabulous meal and lovely environment. Highly highly recommended!

Service is typically slow. Always seems to be understaffed. Went here just the other night by myself in hopes of hearing live music… advertised but apparently not playing. Ordered some food, tuna appetizer was supposed to be raw with seared edges, instead most were cooked almost completely through and the chef chose to try and cover those pieces with the slaw and ginger that came with the app. Also, was there for about 2 hours, ½ hour of which I was just waiting for the waitress to grab my credit card which was sitting on the tab. Again, everyone is very nice, just not enough nice staff to cover everyone. I have gone here about 8 times, of which I would say 2 times were actually good. Plenty of times food was brought out burned or cold in the middle. Very overpriced for the quality, and unfortunately there is no other competitor to help drive these prices down. Bar tenders are all awesome though!

Fabulous! Lunch was wonderful. We had a Bloody Mary and Irish Coffee– both really delicious. We had a cup of soup each and split a Reuben. No complaints. Good service, ambience, food, and drink. Glad we chose the Golden Leaf Bistro.

Highly recommended! Saganaki appetizer is an experience and delicious!(Get that for sure). Also, the Mac n cheese lobster/crab entrée was amazing! Atmosphere was really neat, relaxing and upscale. Staff was excellent, friendly and knowledgeable. I will be back!

Disappointing! Had heard great things about this restaurant, however the best part of my salad was the dressing, the lettuce wilted and some what gritty. The tomato Basil bisque was bland, lack of seasoning, and customer service was sub par.

I would give a zero if I could. So, we came on Sunday around 2 pm. Still brunch. I ordered salad– $ 9 plus crab cake– $ 8. I got my salad with a little partially burned, pepperoni size crab cake. I asked: «is this the $ 8 crabcake? If yes, it is unacceptable.» The waitress said: oh, there should be another one, let me check…” Really? So, she new that the portion I got was not right, but brought it anyway, hoping I won’t notice? I got another crab cake, equally as messy and burned. There was no apology, or anything like that. I think from what I saw on other tables, that the pretty pictures and happy reviews are fake. To the GM of the restaurant: wake up and set some standards! Food is mediocre, and prices too high! Forgot to add: we waited for 45 min for our salads, it was not crowded.

This has to be the best place to eat in Danville. I was only in town for about 20 hours and I looked and looked and at first I thought this place was too fancy. Parking right across the street. Nice big old building. Interior of restaurant is decorated very nicely and I did feel a little under dressed but my money is just as good right? Waitress was a sweetheart. Lunch menu was just right. Started off with French onion soup that tasted great. Then we had a turkey club and a blackened salmon wrap. WoW! Love them both but the wrap was amazing! Wish I could have stayed a few more days just to eat here…

Lunch prices are very comparable to other local places. Food is good. Service is a little slow, but the environment, particularly the patio is worth a visit for lunch or dinner.

A classy quiet place for lunch. A 5 star place with excellent food and attentive friendly service. Bang bang shrimp wrap was delicious along with a side of sweet potato tots that I would come back for any time.

Drove off the highway to stop here on our way from Myrtle Beach back home to New Jersey. We loved the atmosphere, our servicer(Jennifer) was very friendly, attentive and professional. The food was delicious and nicely played. If I lived in the area I would become a regular.

Sunday brunch is fantastic! The steak and eggs are delicious, I only wish they were open for Sunday dinner as well. We also came here for dinner on a Saturday night. They had a live band on the patio. The music was great and steaks and mahi mahi were superb. I would definitely recommend this to anyone traveling in the area!

Food and service was awesome! A must try the Chicken Caesar wrap was very good the dressing is a real Caesar dressing not the thick store bought stuff most restaurants use. Atmosphere was nice and interior décor was elegant with a touch of rustic charm.
