I love this dry cleaning place. My review is long over due, I have been coming here 2 years. My frequency of dry cleaning is weekly. From clothing, bedding, chair seat cushion covers, stiching of small rips in clothing(we have boys), hems on shirts or pants. They are best in cleaning and good at minor alterations. I would not recommend major alterations, for that go to Sammy at «Made to fit». That is different review. For dry cleaning, this is it! Efficient, not a lot of chit/chat, just in/out. Get er done! That’s all I want in dry cleaning. Ana

Terrible alterations department. I asked for original hem on my jeans and they folded the material under the seam and then folder it back over and triple thickened the last inch of my jeans and put 2 stitchings on the pants the bottom. One under the original hem and then one an inch above. Never seen anything so done so ghetto before. And charged me $ 10 extra. I just had to shake my head and fork over the $ 10.

NUMBERONEDRYCLEANERINTHEBAYAREA I moved from Danville to the Silicon Valley and have used multiple dry cleaners. I have decided to come back to Penguin Cleaners, 40 minute commute. My shirts and suits look like new every time.

We’ve been regular customers for the past four years thanks to(1) the nice work they do with our dry cleaning(clean, press, etc.) and service(on time, no lost orders, no damage to clothing). They are also honest — $ 120 in cash was left in a pants pocket and the lady returned the money in an envelope during a pickup. However… if a button was loose or missing they never offered to repair/replace(our previous cleaners were more meticulous to detail and therefore took the initiative to make the correction) nor have they ever called our attention to it. No biggie — we learned to live with it and make the repairs ourselves. BUT — -recently(and consistently) the cuff buttons on long-sleeved shirts and buttons on the sleeves of suit jackets have been returned broken, i.e., a half-side of the row of buttons were broken off. This is very frustrating and something that we don’t need to live with, so we are switching cleaners — yet another search for the perfect cleaners. Unfortunately, fans no more.

I love this place. It provides the two basic things I look for in a business and they do them very well. 1.) They do their service on time and it is done right. I haven’t had any lost close or mix-ups and I wind up having to drop stuff off every other week. They are also able to do stuff on short notice which I love when I am lazy or forgetful. 2.) They are very friendly. I am a bit of a regular so it is nice to be greeted by a friendly face. They seem to drop everything and come to the counter to help me out. I am not sure if they are expensive or not. I don’t care because I wouldn’t go anywhere else. They helped me out a of a jam once and have had my loyalty ever since. If you are looking for a cleaners this is the place!

Very nice people. Very reliable service. Parking can get a bit tough but it’s not that bad.

Awesome cleaners! They saved two of my expensive dress shirts. The first one, which is how I met them was spilled coffee(black) at Peets coffee next door. They stayed open late to start working on it. All clean two days later. Second one was a Mont Blanc pen leaked on another shirt. They said they’d try and it came out great. Also great alterations and sewing. Highly recommend!!!

I give these guys some serious starrage for being directly behind my house and for keeping me in a constantly flowing sea of freshly dry cleaned shirts for work. I also have to give 2 thimbles up for the fact that the owner’s daughter is going to design school and she does some frighteningly good work on the alterations side. To prove my point: bought a pair of tight jeans that were too long, had them altered elsewhere, can came back with one leg longer than the other. By like 2″!! I’m not *that* peglegged. The daughter took 1(well maybe 2) look at me, chalked up the hem of the jeans, shimmied them off me and had the result back by end of day. I mean, it looks a bit Frankenstein-meets-Levis, but damn if those jeans don’t fit again!
