Well. Went back to Anthony’s and things were a bit different this time around. The food is still great, but the service is not as good. My friend and I were seated, then ignored for the next ten minutes. No water or anything was brought to the table. When our server finally arrived, he wasn’t very friendly and seemed as though he was rushing. My friend asked about specials and the server gave her an annoyed look, as if she’d asked him to go out of his way to do something major. Our beers arrived ten minutes later, and we ordered. It took a very long time for the food to come out. The server did not ask if we wanted anything else after we’d finished our pizza, he just kind of threw the bill on the table and disappeared again. Pretty disappointing considering my first experience at Anthony’s was so great.

I come here once a week for happy hour but have also been here for dinner and lunch. Service is always awesome! They make great drinks and also have a decent beer selection. Pizza is always great! Cauliflower pizza is my favorite but the other specialty pies are so good it’s sometimes hard to choose a favorite! Wings are out of this world!

Amazing pizza. I always get the plain pizza without any toppings and it always tastes amazing!

The pizza is nothing special. It’s over-priced. Service is poor. The waitstaff is unnecessarily pretentious.

After a year, things have definitely improved. Pizza is no longer charred beyond recognition, but you have to order it that way Their salad is just amazing! Still not much in the way of deserts though.

I’ve been here twice in the last week. If you like New York-style coal fired pizza, this is the best in the area. I got the traditional pie, a Marguerite style pizza, twice now, and it was exceptional. The service was great both times, and as this place is only half a mile from my hotel, I will definitely be back!

Yum! Best pizza and wings ever! I will search Anthony’s out where ever I go! The best. So sad California does not have Anthony’s! Delish!

My wife and I have a family rule; only one pizza per month. Sound harsh? It is, but a meal that consists of white carbs and fat is probably something we don’t need to eat frequently. That being said, if you only get one pizza a month, and I love pizza, you tend to be pretty fussy about where you go for a pie. You got it, Anthony’s wins the Fairfield County pizza battle in my book. Thin crust, piping hot, great service; what else do you want? One thing actually, but I still give them a five stars… For reasons that still escape me, they do not have or serve oregano on their pizza. Really? No oregano? Like a chocolate chip cookies without a glass of milk… Get over it guys, let the customer decide on that one. Look for me there. Once a month!

I have been to Anthony’s twice, and both times have been good experience. the staff is very friendly, and if you say its your first time, you get to sample the baked wings for free. this is great spot for family or adult pizza night. they have a full bar and great beer list. the place is well decorated with memorabilia, and they have TV and music always going. I think the pizza quality is great, and the meatball appetizer and wings are a must have. I was not a fan of the salad, and would pass on that. I am spoiled with the salads at Jordan’s II on the post road. Overall i very happy, and will be back. glad we found the place.

Hmmmm I was suspect. Coal fired uh? As in New Haven style coal fired, thin crust, nice black char? I’ll be the judge of that! And I’m glad I pushed my skeptasisum aside bcz this pizza is really, really good! The 1st thing you see upon entering is a sign that reads: «Warning! Our pizza is well done!» I’m guessing that’s for the unexsperineced pizza eaters who don’t understand that the«char» is purposeful & part of the delicious charm of a coal fired pie. No worries here! Bring it on! I loooove it! The beer selection is good. No hard cider :(Wine list is decent as this is a pizza joint/sports bar. They serve everything on plastic plates– so lame. Really– invest in some serious resturant plates please. The service was attentive & friendly. The ribs in the garlicky, hot peppers, rosemary vineger sauce was outrageously good. We had the original pie — tangy crushed plum tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, fresh basil– thin crust but a decent chew w a very chared crust, & Italian long hot peppers that also were mighty hot w a sold char to the blistering skin. Excellent! Dark interior. Various photos of famous people from another grand era as well as memorable sports figures, like a ½ dozen TVs, classic rock blaring through the sound system. Totally going back.

This may be the best pizza within 20 mile radius of Darien. The service is OK — not bad — just OK. I also really wish they delivered.

This is true New Haven style coal fired pizza. It is suppose to be well done and a little black around the crust. Of course there will be «Black Bottom Love» underneath. The pies are delicious, the crust is a little thicker than New Haven pies, but it’s very good. The staff are friendly and attentive! The make conversation with the people and are helpful when ordering. The chicken wings are insane! Just delicious. No sauce at all, these babies are marinated and cooked in the coal oven and served on a platter with delicious camelized onions over the top. The only downside to this place is that the parking lot is small and sometimes it is difficult to find a space. Otherwise, it would be five stars!

Best pizza, ever. «Pizza Well Done» is their theme — and not only does it mean how it’s cooked, it’s also delicious. I have to comment first on the starters. The salad with chick peas and olives and tomatoes is a great twist on a traditional garden salad. Delicious Italian dressing too. And the wings, well, they are just plain fantastic. They are cooked in the brick oven, and are sweet with the caramelized onions. Honestly, I could eat just the salad and wings for my meal. Pizza is legit — my favorites are the ricotta meatball(two favorite foods, on top of a pizza, cannot go wrong), and the cauliflower white pizza(so garlic, so tasty). Good service, relaxed atmosphere, and some unique beers. It is pretty busy on weekends with big families, but it’s the perfect weekday dinner.

Stopped in here on our drive from I-95. It was either this or friendlys(ew no thanks). Pizza was great, had the prosciutto and onion pizza. Our waiter even gave us a free sample of the coal fired wings(which were great, but simply put tasted like roast chicken)

Went there for the first time last night. Ordered a regular cheese pizza to see if they get the basics right. Saltiest pizza I’ve had in years almost to the. point of inedible. Maybe it seems a location where the pizza is mediocre. IMHO, it’s salty so you’ll buy more beer. This is Fairfield County and if you want to toot your horn about brick ovens and coal-fired pizza you have to compete with Pepe’s, Remo’s, and Julian’s in pizza quality. Anthony’s has to raise their game.

In the short time that this restaurant has been opened, my boyfriend and I have been there at least 3 times. The first time we had the sausage/broccoli rabe pie and the Paul and Young Ron. Both were good but I preferred the broccoli rabe. We also had some of the wings which were tasty, plus the onions they were served with were great. The second time we had the ribs, meatballs, and the Eggplant Marino pie. We figured we’d try a bunch of things and were happy with everything. The Eggplant pie was amazing! No cheese other than a sprinkling of romano. Last time we did half the Marino pie and half the Arugula pie. Again, quite good. It’s coal fired pizza so yes, sometimes it is a bit well done/dark, but that’s the point. The staff has been the corporate training staff for the most part which is why they’re amazing. Hopefully as the full time staff transitions in, they’re just as good. We think that this is a great addition to the area and some of the best pizza around. We typically go at 8:30/9p and get right in. Last week we went around 6:30p on a Friday and the place was PACKED with families. As a kid-free couple, we prefer the atmosphere a bit later.
