Had a beef and hotdog was really expensive and both things I ordered were small and not good. I would never go back. Portillios is way better cheaper and much better quality and better portion size’s.

Very good beef sandwiches, Burgers and the It. Ice was amazing. It was pricey… But you get what you pay for.

Best hotdogs around hands down! So much better than Portillos or any other local hot dog joint! Loyal customer from here on out

Beef = AMAZING Hot Dog = AMAZING Fries = AMAZING They are across the lot from McDonald’s, and when my kids want fries with their Nuggets, I stop here to get them. You can NOT beat their hotdog, it’s the best and their beef, well i have traveled far and wide to find a better beef, and have yet to find better. Kinda pricey… sure but… This place ROCKS!

Teddy’s not only has great beef and dogs, but also the best cheeseburgers on a pretzel bun. I’ve been coming for years, and the food is always hot(made to order) and top quality. Keep up the good work, Teddy’s!

Poorest hot dog EVER! Dry, stale bun(not steamed — no poppy seeds), incredibly mediocre hot dog — lacking flavor, small smear of mustard, very little relish or onion, crudely cut cuke(almost as big as the hot dog) and tomato slices(very under ripe and again bland). I honestly feel you could find a better dog just about ANYWHEREELSE. Fries were very good & cooked to order. Drive a few minutes further east & go to Portillo’s!

The fries and cheese are amazing. The beef and hot dogs are also really good and this place is very cheap with generous portions. Enjoy it!

Great Italian beef sandwich. Chicago style hotdogs are spot on, and the fries are the best I’ve ever had.

I like their Italian Sausage but they do not offer red sauce on it. Most other Italian Beef and Sausage places that I go to offer this as an option like giardinera and sweet peppers. Combos are good as well as Polish Sausages. They will do a Polish Sausage dressed as a hot dog which is my preference.

Grew up going here and can’t stop, won’t stop, get it, get it. Teddy’s is solid. And their dogs are great. Their beef is good. And the Italian ice is the best around. If you’re around durning lent do yourself a huge favor and stop in for an egg and pepper sandwich you will not be disappointed. And if I needed any more selling points let me say this, where can you still get a fountain red cream soda? Teddy’s that where. Same as it ever was, same as it ever was, and that’s a good thing.

Beware. After the recent renovation, prices have skyrocketed. A family of two adults and one child should not have had a bill of 38 dollars just for each to have a sandwich, a large fry to split, and a milkshake for the kid. Also of note, there are ZERO options for kids, so be prepared to pay 8 bucks when your kid wants a plain cheeseburger. When questioned about the new prices, the staff there said those are the new prices for«restaurant quality» food. This struck me as an odd answer, since what other quality should be expected? Of note, the«restaurant quality» cheeseburger for our kid was nothing special. It was obviously a frozen patty cooked on their grill. The hot dog and beef sandwich we also got were very good, but the serving sized seemed a bit smaller than they have in the past as well. My impression is that Teddy’s is trying recoup some costs of their renovation by changing their menu around and jacking up their prices. This is shortsighted as they have lost at least one customer and probably more to come. A good alternative is Mama D’s in Lemont, which has fair and competitive prices, options for kids, and ALSO has«restaurant quality» food. In fact, their beef sandwiches are superior to Teddy’s now.

Portillos and Kombs — FORGETABOUTIT. Teddy’s Red Hots is the REALDEAL for Italian Beef Sandwiches and Hot Dogs. The beef is very high-quality, lean and tender. Dipped and you will have yourself a 5-STAR Beef Sandwich!!! The hot dog sandwiches are the real-macoy Chicago Style Hot Dog. Fries: too delicious to describe using words. Mouth-watering, fresh cut, perfectly cooked to a crispy outside and tasty inside. Unilocalers, do not pass this one up. Go there today, order a dipped Beef Sandwich with sweet peppers and a hot dog with everything. Your tummy will celebrate after each swollow!!!

The food was okay it took me 10 minutes to get my food and absolutely no one was in the place and all I ordered was a hotdog. I do plan on returning but it is not my first choice to get a hotdog. The hotdogs are real Vienna beef so I do give them credit for that.

We drove by and saw this place and decided to give it a shot. We got the chili dog and the Chicago dog. Both were great. My daughter thought it was amazing. Glad we stopped by to give it a try!

Went here a LONGLONGLONG time ago! I was partial to my local hot dog stand, Smoke House, but this was awesome when I had it when I was little! Grandma and Grandpa grew up around the corner! Anyways, John Kass mentioned this in his newspaper column today and it brought back a ton of memories of my FIRSTCHICAGOSTYLEHOTDOG! it was from Teddy’s(although it was the Downers location). I had a gyros here! I don’t always eat hot dogs, but when I do,(bun and all) it is Chicago style! Take that, Joey Chestnut!

Teddy’s is a reputable and amazingly convenient alternative to the big whig chain fast food restaurants. Food comes fresh, fast, and no hassle. There are no long lines, price increases, or name tags. The guys are extremely friendly and the place is clean. You will feel much better supporting a small well run business.

Teddy’s Red Hots is a brightly lit hot dog joint located off of Plainfield Road in Darien. The parking lot was busy and the inside is fairly clean with a decent sized menu of items to order. I’m unsure if this place is related to the Teddy’s Red Hots in Downers Grove but I decided to stop in and try out their food. I went for the hot dog. The hot dog I received came on a regular non-poppy seed bun. The bun had hard edges and showed signs of dryness. The hot dog itself was longer than the bun which is kind of unusual. The pickle included was a bit on the sour side and a tad too thick. The tomato slices were also a bit on the thick side and I had to reassemble my dog to get all of the components to stay on. The application of the mustard, relish and onions were fine. This hot dog while tasting alright combined two of my biggest pet peeves with Chicago Style Hot Dogs. This hot dog was guilty of having a hard and dry hot dog bun being the first sin, and a pickle slice that was too thick. The fact that this came from a place that specializes in hot dogs, it’s surprising for them to be serving a bun in that condition. Needless to say it really hurt the score on this hot dog. The hot dog overall didn’t taste bad, it simply didn’t have the right texture.

I love their Italian beef sandwich with pickles and mustard! The crinkly French fries are always crispy and hot. Then there is the Italian Ice. My favorites are the lemonade, strawberry and black cherry. My only complaint is that they aren’t in Southern California. Come on Teddy, Portillo’s went out there!

I’ve been driving past this place every Monday when I take my dog to obedience class. It looked awesome from the outside so I decided to stop in one night and give it a try. The service sucked. I stepped up to order and the woman behind the counter looked like she couldn’t be bothered with me. I’m not a fussy customer, I know how awful the public can be. All I did was place an order with no special requests either and I got a ton of attitude. Even when I gave her my credit card, she gave me a shitty look back. It made for a very awkward couple minutes as my hot dogs were being made. The food itself was meh. I love hot dogs but nothing here set them apart from anywhere else I have visited. Their menu looked pretty good but with crappy counter service, I’ll spend my money somewhere else.
