Love the food. Sauces & spice level can be customized. It has a great variety of options. Servers are great as well 5 stars. The only reason I gave this place 3 stars is the cooks forget that there not behind the kitchen wall & I had to hear complaining while my food cooked.

Was excited to try this place as it was highly recommended. Was not impressed with the food, our server was great so I would give him 5 stars but the food was not good and the interior was not very well kept in term if cleanliness. Will not return

This place is really nothing special. I was hoping for an experience similiar to Hi-Ho Mongolian Grill. Everything was kind of bland and just okay. You are allowed to try a different bowl if you don’t like what you have. I just can’t justify wasting an entire bowl of food because I don’t like the way it tastes.

Have eaten here twice – once when they weren’t busy and then on a Friday night when the grill was steady. Definite difference in the two experiences. On the busy night, even with three grill masters, they couldn’t keep up. One guy would plate the food, one would be behind him cleaning the grill(first guy would then put the next customer’s food on the grill), and guy #3 was stirring. With only one guy stirring and about 10 meals at a time on the grill, the items were not getting stirred. In fact, the only stirring was when the items were first placed on the grill, then the guy would go on to the next, and the next, etc, and never come back around. Then the plater guy would plate the food – burned on the bottom and raw on the top. These guys were all working slow and didn’t get the concept of how to keep food turned on the grill. A Mongolian grill is all about the GRILL! If you can’t grill properly, what’s the point? The other negative for me was the drink selection. 100 kinds of Coke? Pffft. Who cares. This is Chinese. How about 100 kinds of tea? I want good quality green tea with my Chinese food. On the plus side, I do like the extensive selection of items. I like to mix and match my oils and sauces. Be sure you use plenty of oil because your food is going to just sit on the grill until burned on the bottom. If you have any meats, ensure they were properly tossed and cooked through. I had to have them put mine back on the grill to fully cook the raw pieces of meat, since it hadn’t been turned. Service was good and attentive. Staff is friendly. Too bad they don’t fine-tune the grill station and realize how critical it is to turn out a properly cooked dish each and every time.

While I do like the fact that they have a new Coke machine(allowing for numerous different soda options not available in traditional places), but unlike the other«Mongolian Grill» places in town, HuHot only has one size — all you can eat. Also, according to the posted signs in the restaurant, you’re not allowed to take any food home. One of the reasons I like Mongolian BBQ is that it reheats so well and makes great leftovers. For roughly the same price as a giant bowl(which I can get leftovers with) somewhere else, I am classified as «all you can eat» at HuHot and am not allowed to take anything with me. Just seems… unfair. In terms of the food, I honestly found HuHot to be comparable in terms of food to the other Momgolian options in town — I wouldn’t necessarily choose one over another for the food. I will say that while the other Mongolian places has a much more«authentic» feel, this absolutely feels like a corporate environment and while pleasant — I’m a fan of the authentic feel(others may prefer corporate). They cook the food in one place, using a metal spatula(though my boyfriend tells me that if there are enough people, food will travel one way, and the chefs will travel another). It just seemed to lack… presentation and flair that other Mongolian places I have been to have(while they cook the food, they rotate it around the grill using a nifty looking double rod). I will say that I also wasn’t a fan of our appetizers, the crab rangoon was just… so so(and I LOVE crab rangoon). We did the trio platter, and the other options were alright, but they were unremarkable. All in all, it wasn’t bad, and the wait staff was super friendly, they even let a couple bring in separate food for their young daughter(who looked 5 or so and wanted familiar food). It was nice to see a restaurant so accommodating. I’d return if my boyfriend really wanted to go, or if someone wanted to take me, but because they taste roughly the same and I get left overs, I’d choose the other Mongolian option in town.

My parents brought us here while we were visiting in town, and I loved it. The selection was great, I was really able to play with favorite flavors, our server was great, it was fun to watch the cooks do their thing on a huge round grill… yup. I’ll definitely be back the next time I’m in town.

A couple of weeks ago, I went here for lunch. It is just like any other Mongolian stir-fry affair. You select your protein, noodles and veggies and then load them up with different sauces. Bring the bowl up to the cook and he’ll cook them right up on a big ass pan. The good thing is if you don’t like your concoction, try a different one. In fact, you can try as many as you like. A good concept. However, no matter what I did, the flavors never really stood out for me. Plus you need to put lots of oil and sauce if you want everything to be cooked properly. If you use too little, it’ll come out too dry. That doesn’t seem very healthy to me. A quick note for vegetarians out there: The same pan is used to cook meats and veggies both. There’s a high possibility that your veggies are cooked right next to meats and the cook uses the same pair of tongs to cook both. It did bother me a little bit since I only eat chicken. Something to keep in mind.

I come here for dinner today. It’s really delicious! I like the«Five …» sauce. The waiter suggests, really good. The only thing that make it’s not five stars is: It has no fresh eggs. I like grill eggs with other food. It makes the dishes more delicious. Ps: the slide beef is really good! Strongly suggest!

Stopped on the way to Minnesota in the I-80 Quad Cities food Corridor. Plenty to choose from in this area. The Mongolian BBQ basics were there: the meats, the seafood, noodles, veggies. What sets this place apart is the sauce station. 12 to choose from, in addition to the oils. Since it’s «all you can eat for one money», you can ladle into the wells of sweet flavor in a couple different combinations. My favorite combo was the Khan’s Revenge with a little Burn Your Village BBQ and some Lime Juice. Overall the food quality was good, the wait staff kept the buffet clean, the grill station moved fast, and the service was good.

Hu Hot is always so good. You can choose the meat & veggies u want when u go through the line, then u get to put whatever sauces u want on there to make it into the taste u like. If u don’t like what u made, just try again. I always get the egg drop soup to go with it. Usually it’s delicious, but it tasted weird this time. The crab rangoons are always fantastic.

This place is very good and the selections are quite good. The prices are reasonable. I love spicy sauces and I love how they offer suggestions for mixing to create a certain flavor. I would like to see more of this. I am not creative enough to do this without help. I tried once and the sauce I made was disgusting so I love the poster help. The service is outstanding. Not once did I have to ask for more rice or drink refills.

I think this place is a touch over-hyped, but really, I have nothing bad to say about it. The most critical thing I can say is that this is not really what I consider«Mongolian». They cook your stuff on the grill in front of you, but that’s about the extent of what I think makes it Mongolian. I guess it’s just because my idea of «Mongolian» really ought to include Mongolian BBQ… but I digress. The prices seemed really reasonable… especially the kids prices for those under 10 years old. We were really surprised how easily we got a table for 5 on a Saturday night. And the nice thing about self-service is that your food is ready right away, compared to waiting forever for someone to prepare your meal in the kitchen. The waitress was very helpful and attentive too… We ordered eggrolls and got them right away, along with our drinks.(Random side note: think hard before ordering appetizers… you really won’t need them with all-you-can-eat grill.) The bowls they give you are obviously designed to keep you from going overboard with all the choices you can get, but really, a slightly bigger bowl would be helpful. I picked some meat and noodles and then really couldn’t fit much by way of veggies without overflowing the bowl. My advice: go easy on the portions, because you can go back. Personally I’d prefer to be able to fit more into the first serving and not go back for seconds because of the small bowls. I thought the sauces were pretty amazing in how many choices there were. I liked the way they posted«recipes» for getting the correct sauce to your tastes… Hubby was quite happy making a «Thai» sauce… and then a «sweet and sour» sauce… and the kiddo without imagination enjoyed that he could just put teriyaki on his and not choose what to combine. They have one of those fun soda machines that lets people pick the fun drink combos(although you have to tell the waitress which combination you prefer)… That’s kind of cool… I learned that I do not like cherry vanilla in my Coke… Happily I was able to ask for a Peach Sprite on the next refill… but not before my waitress had already brought me another Cherry Vanilla Coke. She was really attentive! We never had an empty glass at our table.

Food is great. Very busy, seated in 15 minutes. No place for people to wait for seating. DONOTORDERSOUP! You can see in the back as you are waiting on food. I watched the waitress preparing some soup. She got it out of a plastic container, put out in a bowel and put it in a microwave. Took it out stirred it and put it back in. Then she took it out, stirred it and then stuck her finger in it to see if it was hot enough. Wiped her finger on her slacks and then walked out and served it to the table.

I absolutely love this place. I go so often, most of the employees know me. You will have quite a wait if you go on a Friday or Saturday night. 15 – 20 minutes. Monday-Thursday dinners aren’t horrible, but there is still a wait from time to time. It gets very busy because it is a very popular place. The best time to go is for lunch, but not during the lunch hour, as it gets very busy then too. Don’t just the food based on your first time. You may not have found the right combo yet. And if you don’t like what you get, you are welcome to set it aside and go back and try again. It is a one size bowl, but it’s all you can eat and there are no leftovers. They have over 100 drink choices. The staff is very friendly. Take heed, it does get expensive. If you’ve been to HiHo, and you’re used to the bowl sizes, and the cheap-ish price, and being able to take home leftovers, you may be a little butthurt about how Huhot does it. To me, it’s completely worth it. My combination at Huhot is better than my combination at HiHo.

I was passing through Davenport on a cross country trip, this being my first stop for the night. I Unilocaled ahead for places to eat and HuHot caught my eye. I love me some stir fry! To be honest I almost turned right around and left. Right inside the door there was a steady line of people waiting. The place was jumping! But it was a friday night, I was by myself, and didn’t have anything else to do so I figured I could wait. Being by myself I was told I’d wait 5 – 10 minutes. I waited 5 at most. First things first: The drink selection. Braaavo! 100+ choices, flavor shots into Coke products, and a low/no carb selection. Genius. The soup I chose was Spicy Chicken Egg Drop. In hindsight I wish I’d gone with the Asian Salad. With white rice added to it let’s just say… it was soup. Lol On to the main event, the bowl! The selection of meats and noodles was vast, as well as the sauces and oils. Add a very well put together line of fresh vegetables and you’re good to go! I tip my hat for sure to the«warriors» for being able to keep track of whose bowl they’re working on and trade off for completion. The ambience is loud, the décor is pretty awesome, and the service is done well. If you happen to cross one of these give it a shot!

I’d been to a HuHot years ago, so I was excited when I found one was coming to town. As with all Mongolian Grills, you pick and choose your own meats, veggies, noodles and sauces. First time through I had the pad Thai noodles(flat rice noodles) with pork and beef. Added carrots, onions, cilantro and added a ladle of the barbecue sauce(for those who’ve never been there, it’s not BBQ sauce like you think of… it more of a sweet-ish soy sauce) 3 ladles of the Thai peanut sauce some sesame oil and some of the hot oil. I think that’s all. It was pretty tasty. The price for lunch with a diet coke(oh, and they have one of those fancy new Coke machines that will automatically mix 168-ish different coke variations for you) was about $ 12.50 including tax. Since they do take away plates and bring drinks(and serve appetizers and dessert if you choose) I tipped so my total was $ 14. And, unlike the Hi-Ho Mongolian grill, you don’t get to take home any leftovers. That being said, while Hu-Hot is flavor and option-wise much better, the cheapskate in me says that because I can take home a huge bowl of leftovers from Hi-Ho(spruce them up, make them better and get 2 more meals out of it) and with the price difference, the two really even out.
