Saw a billboard with this resturant and decided to try it out. It’s a nice looking resturant and the food is to die for. We tried the Buffalo chicken dip, the chicken sandwich, and the snow crabs. Everything was cooked to perfection. Will defiantly be back. I enjoyed the food a lot :)

If I could give zero stars I would. I put my name on the list for a table for two. In about 30 minutes of waiting in front of the host station we saw 6 tables seated before us. When I asked when I would be seated I was rudely told that I will be seated soon. Something about a party of two can’t be seated at a table for 6. But more than one party of three can bested be fore me? Sorry. But I will not be coming back.

I’ve had this placed bookmarked for a while now. I’ve heard great things about this local business and Ovation definitely lived up to them. It’s a small restaurant but it’s not lacking in great service. Our server was friendly and knowledgable about everything they had on the menu. When he wasn’t sure about a certain ingredient, he was great at double checking for me. They have a patio section outside that allows you to bring your dog too! We started off with fried pickle spears which were delicious! If you are more than a party of 4, I recommend getting more than one serving because they go fast! I wasn’t terribly impressed with the Cesar salad. Way too much dressing! For dinner I had the Chicken Acclaim. It’s a chicken breast topped with bacon, cheese, mushrooms and barbecue sauce! It was delicious!!! I loved their homemade barbecue sauce; I wish there had been more on it! There were so many things on the menu I wanted to try but I don’t know if I can order them next time now that I’ve fallen for the Chicken Acclaim!!! Not only do you get a salad with your entrée, you also get a side. In this case, I had a loaded baked potato. Again way to much sour cream, but it was still good. Of course we got dessert because we were there celebrating a birthday. I shared their chocolate chip cake which was decent but nothing fantastic. My only complaint was too much dressing or cream on some food and then not enough barbecue sauce on another. There wasn’t a happy medium, but the food was excellent! I will definitely be back for more!

Heard good things about it but when I finally got there to try it out it fell flat. Ordered brisket sandwich and a pulled pork sandwich. Meat was dry the sandwich was small and the bread was small loaf size. Garlic mashed potatoes were terrible.

We are from out of town; stopped in and the staff was awesome. The food was great, all 7 of us loved our food. Brisket does not need bbq sauce. The bbq nachos were great. The burgers were juicy. 5 stars.

This has to be one of the best kept secrets in the area! They accommodated our larger party with open arms. The manager greeted us at the door. The service was awesome. The food was superb. Everything we had from steaks to seafood and chicken, it was all amazing. Overall the best dining experience we had while in town for the week. A huge thank you to the manger and staff for taking care of our families.

Just had our first dinner here and it was amazing. We got there just before the rush because it quickly became SRO. Baby back ribs were fall off the bone and very nice BBQ. Sauce. Not poured on and overdone like most places. Hubby had Diablo del Mar with scallops. First, scallops were perfectly cooked. The pasta was excellent. The creamy chiracha sauce was delicious but a bit spicy for me. Our wonderful server, Abiel, told me he orders it with light chiracha and it’s perfect heat for him so I am trying that next visit. My only complaint is that on their beautiful and obviously farm fresh romaine ceaser had a store bought bulk cream ceasar dressing which was confirmed by our server. Make you an awesome ceaser dressing in house guys!!! That would make your ceasar one of the best in the area. PLEASE!!! We will be back for sure!

If I’m at a restaurant and my server mentions he’s a Giants fan, I’m immediately feeling positive about the place! This restaurant/bar/bistro is owned by two brothers and they really focus on the customer service. One of the brothers was their when we went and we watched him visit every table. We order fried pickles to start and I enjoyed that they are spears and not chips. I got their brisket which I tested our server on how it’s prepared and he gave me a perfect answer. Smoked for 8 hours and I believe he said and than steamed to completing to add moisture. You can order it in a 6oz portion and it’s an extra $ 1 and ounce after that. They have a little BBQ sauce rack and the spicy BBQ was my favorite out of the 3. I ordered carrot cake for dessert and that was super delicious. It was a nice sized hunk and I was surprised I was able to finish. This is a great locally owned business and I’d highly recommend stopping by if you’re in the Davenport/Posner Park area.

Best restaurant and owner in Polk County! We live in Davenport and struggle to find nice spots like this without having to deal with the Orlando traffic!

Good relaxed atmosphere with good olé American stuff. Good BBQ, French Dip, Chicken Fingers, and the cheese with the pretzel sticks was awesome! Unilocal did me a favor again. Thank you Unilocal.

I visited Ovation Bar & Bistro Friday night. I have to say, both me and my wife were delighted. The ambience, the music, the food, the lighting, everything was delightful. I had their prime rib with a baked potato. This is such an awesome dish. So delicious. My wife had grilled salmon with some lobster Mac-n-Cheese. She could not stop taking about her food. Our server was very attentive and explained the menu very well, as we were first time costumers. For dessert we had a slice New York cheesecake. Also very good as it was not overly sweet and it had a very delicious strawberry sauce. The only thing that was not up to par with everything else was the cocktails. They were very good, but not great. Still, this bistro deserves no less than 5 stars. Kudos to management and staff.

For Davenport, this place is a gem. We shared the buffalo chicken dip with their homemade chips. It was a solid choice for an appetizer. For our meals, I had their half rack of baby back ribs and a loaded baked potato. They were quite the best ribs I have had in a really long time. The potato was done well too with a salt crusted skin. My husband had their version of Alice Springs Chicken with fresh green beans. We both agreed this was a great selection and for the price it was a no brainier. If we were back in the area, we would definitely stop again!

So my mom and I decided to check this place out last night. I had been here once before, but it was on a first date and I was so nervous I wasn’t really paying attention to the food. Glad I decided to come back and try it again now that I could focus a little better. We arrived right after mom got off work around 5pm. The place was busy, but not overly crowded. We were seated at a booth and the nice thing about the booths here is how tall they are. They really give you some privacy which is nice. The guy who seated us who I believe was the owner or manager presented us with menus, and special seasonal menu. He told my mom about how they smoke all of the meats in house. He specifically recommended the baby back ribs. Our server was very attentive and arrived promptly to ask for our drink order. They have a $ 4 cocktail menu and $ 5 martini menu. My mom ordered the margarita. It was shaken, frothy, and on the rocks with salt. It was a darn good margarita for $ 4. I ordered the Evil Stepmother which was a raspberry flavored martini. It too, was delicious. For entrees I ordered the wood fired grilled chicken and baby back ribs combo. I had read really good reviews of the chicken. Here’s the thing. It looks and seems very simple, but it had pretty incredible flavor. The ribs were also fantastic. They fell off the bone. For my side I got the garlic mashed potatoes. I love garlic potatoes, but they left the skins in and I really can’t stand that, so next time I will likely try a different side. My mom ordered the full rack of baby back ribs and again loved them. She had a baked potato that she was thrilled came fully loaded with cheese, bacon, butter, sour cream, and chives. Many restaurants charge extra for that. Both of our meals came with a second side or a soup/salad. We both had the Caesar salad. It was served as a whole chunk of romaine and I know that is how many restaurants, particularly fancy ones, but then I have to cut the salad up myself. I’m not totally sure how I feel about that. Pros: This place is insanely close to my house. 2. The food is really good. 3. They have some reasonably priced drinks. Cons: Their plates are too large. I mean the actually plates. The portions are not really small, but my combo looked very tiny on such a large plate. A combo should never look tiny. The prices are a little high, especially for Davenport. They had a pretzel with cheese dip on the seasonal menu. It was $ 10. That just seems unreasonable for a pretzel. My combo was $ 16 and my mom’s ribs were $ 19, so slightly on the higher side. I mean Manny’s charges about the same for ribs, but you get unlimited salad and bread there. This brings me to my final bummer, no bread. Overall though it is incredibly convenient and delicious so we will likely be back.

o·va·tion — noun — A sustained and enthusiastic show of appreciation from an audience, especially by means of applause. Clap, clap, clap, clap, clap, clap! Can you hear the applause? They deserve it! They’ve only been open a year and change and have already garnered 217 reviews and 4 ½ stars. That’s a very impressive performance especially as they are a bit off-the-beaten-track on Route 27. I stopped in for an early lunch today. They are in a small plaza so parking is a snap. This is a tiny place with and L-shaped bar and both tables and booths. The ATMOSPHERE is well, plaza. It’s slightly modern and very clean. I sat at the bar and my CUSTOMERSERVICE was exceptional. The bartender was spot on. This is a family run joint owned by two brothers and Joel handles the front of the house. He stopped by to chat as he does with just about everybody. He said the magic words; «Did we meet your expectations?» I was impressed. If you are in the mood for an ADULTLIBATION they have all the bases covered. The specialty drink list is especially intriguing. I was quaffing Dogfish 90 Minute for $ 7. I ordered a cup of Chicken Tortilla Soup for $ 3. It was delicious, served at the correct temperature and slightly unusual as they added some beans. I’ve seen that before but not often and I really enjoyed the change. Next up was a Beef Brisket Sandwich on Texas Toast with Slaw for $ 12.90. This was a very very good sandwich. The toast was buttery, the brisket tender and the slaw fresh. I’m embarrassed that I moaned a bit with pleasure. I could have had several different sides. I was disappointed that the fries were frozen from-a-bag and the coated type. I passed. If they are looking for that elusive 5th star, house-cut fries could put them over the top. Just a note that these folks are on the Unilocal reservation system. I highly recommend you bookmark these folks and stop by if your wanderings take you nearby.

Yum. We had date night at this little gem last night and will certainly return. We were greeted promptly by the host which I can only assume was a manager or owner from how personable he was. Seated immediately, the place was pretty full for a Thursday night. Server took our drink orders they had a sale on beer and wine. I ordered a evil stepmother Tini which was different and delicious(and only $ 4!) my second drink was the rum punch also fruity and a little on the sweet side but very good. I ordered the pineapple pork with sweet potato fries and asparagus. The sweet potato fries were AMAZING. Everything else was good. My boyfriend ordered the steak and shrimp with mashed potatoes and shrimp. His only complaint was that there were only 4 very small shrimp :/otherwise everything else was good. Overall the atmosphere was better than I expected, service was fabulous and the food was good. We paid $ 60 for 4 drinks, two meals and tip. Overall not too bad :)

The locals out here in davenport are lucky to have this place available. Their staff is all really friendly and helpful even if you’re not their customer. The manager doesn’t just«touch the table» he actually takes some time with you and that’s a great touch. I had the tacos and I tried the chicken, pork and brisket options. These aren’t your standard tacos so don’t expect that. The in house smoked meats are delicious and the portions aren’t tiny so you’ll be properly full when done. They have a really great bar area and a nice section of crafts. I would definitely come back, just dont know when!

We live nearby and saw that there was a Groupon and decided to try it. The first time we tried to use it, I called first. It was a rainy day and we just wanted to get out of the house. The man that answered the phone told me we could come down, but they were short staffed and we would be waiting a while. I appreciate the heads up. We decided to wait and go another day. When we did go, we were treated at the door by the owner. He was very nice and later came by our table to check on us. We love living in Davenport because we feel like the local restaurants are so much more personable. We started off by ordering drinks. We had the Tropical Storm Carrie. It was $ 5 with top shelf. Can’t beat that! We’re tequila drinkers and enjoyed it. For dinner, we shared the fried green beans and the brisket sandwich. As some have stated, the portions do look small when they come out. But guess what. We were both full when we left. It’s quality over quantity here. No leftovers to take home, but we enjoyed every bite. Our waitress was very helpful and made sure to explain everything to us. Even made a suggestion to mix two particular BBQ sauces together. And she was right! They were good together. I like to see local places make it. So if you’re in the area and enjoy good service and BBQ, stop in!
