Steak ‘n Shake

Every time I go here everything is perfect! Definitely the best fast-​food burgers out of everywhere. The customer service is always great & I’m always greeted with a smile & politeness. My order is always correct. Sometimes there will be a short wait in the drive-​thru but it’s definitely worth it. Burger, fries & a drink for 5.35, you can’t beat it!

Food was hot and delicious! And for once the food looked just as good as it did on the menu!

My friend had never heard of Steak and Shake, so I took her there for lunch and what a lunch it was; fantastic tasty steak burgers juicy, not greasy, hot from the grill /​seasoned salt and vinegar fries for me cajiun fries for her/​humongous milkshakes dipped by hand in a side by side chocolate and caramel for me and chocolate Oreo for her. Nor if we could only get up out of our seats
Waitstaff was exceptional in knowledge, service, and friendliness!

Ordered a bacon cheeseburger meal and small coke. Burger was cold and drink was in a tiny cup. Employees were not very friendly and food was not good so I won’t be going back!

Thursday night. Service was slow. I took my kids here, although I never come here anymore because of the service. Food is decent, but it doesn’t overcome the service.

Jalapeño crunch burger is awesome. French fries are golden & great! Breakfast sausage egg & cheese biscuit is delicious and hands down best breakfast sandwich around! Hash browns, although I only got 5 with my breakfast sandwich, they were absolutely magnificent! Oh yeah and yeah they have Dr. Pepper, but not only that… Red Bull! Ha what more could you ask? How about open 24/​7, yes they do that also! This place kicks butt!

Never again. I have been wanting to try Steak ‘n Shake for quite some time. I am utterly disappointed indeed. My mom ordered the hamburger special with Guacamole on it. Oh wow, the guac was dry and the burger should of never made it to the plate! The child had a jalapeño burger that she said was just okay. I on the other hand, since I have been watching what I eat, just ordered a slider and fries. What was brought to me was about a thumb size processed mess called beef on a bun (slider size) and let me just say, it was paper thin and you could LITERALLY see through it in some spots. I was beside myself as I tried to endure laughing! I did take off the bun since it was calories not needed, but the beef patty (can I call it that) was beyond funny. I told the waiter, is this for real? He said, yes sir it is. Of course we all looked at one another and realized that wow, they are serious. So since I ordered it I decided to woof it down. But it was in one gulp! Come on Steak ‘n Shakers don’t toy with my emotions! This is too funny even for me. So regardless, I also ordered a diet coke (don’t judge me) and when I took my first sip I realized that this was not diet coke, (You see for medical reasons I cannot tolerate regular coke at all) and my head ache right away proved what I knew, it was a coke. So I told the waiter and he brought me out a diet coke and the taste was very different. I don’t know, I thought I was going to have a great experience since in Chicago we don’t have these fast food spots. I was highly disappointed and had hoped the Manager didn’t ask me how the food was. But wait, SHE DID! And my honesty with Unilocal reviews shows on my honesty in being asked a question. She was like, well next time order the burger and ask for it to be made rare so it can be juicy. Ummmm no you did ’ ennnnntttt! I was needless to say appalled and decided let me pay for the meal, give the waiter a tip and leave before I had a conniption. Im outta here!

I’ve always liked Steak ‘n Shake but tonight ended that I ordered a burger once I received the burger it was dripping with oil even the bun was oily I just got off from working 8hrs so I didn’t bother with going back to complain I just threw it out

We go every so often and I am always amazed by how good the fries are. The burgers are also amazing and I would recommend the Western BBQ or the Royal. For shakes I would recommend any of them. They are all amazing.
