I was pleasantly surprised by this hidden bistro. The food was delicious. My son had two plates of the chicken dumplings. My husband who really isn’t a fan of Asian cuisine loved his red curry. I had the roasted chili fried rice with tofu. I must say it was delish! Overall this place is A-OK in my book.

I get an MSG headache every time I eat here. I ha e tried many different items thinking maybe it was just the specific dish I got. I feel for the price that the other Thai restaurants are better and you also get more band for your buck. I also do not get an MSG headache from the other places, so that is priceless.

They’ve fallen off *badly* in the past few years. They’ve reduced the portions, kept the same price, their stuff couldn’t ably handle a take-out order, had zero communications skills, and their thai tea tasted pretty severely of stale syrup. My curry was fine, but my wife’s pad thai was bland and everything was sticking together. I’m giving them one star to call them out. Lemongrass Café is a bit of a drive if you’re on the Iowa Side, but they’re killing it right now. Go there until Tantra gets it back together.

Wide menu and nice ambiance. We were there right at opening on a Thursday night so I can’t speak to the need for reservation or noise on a busy night. The chicken satay was pretty in presentation and well seasoned. We both had entrees off the specials, salmon pad Thai and lamb lollipops. The salmon was cooked perfectly and it was a large portion. The lamb was the star though, again cooked perfectly and with wonderful flavor. The bed of corn it was on along with the fried rice were nice as well. Will definitely return if we are in the area again.

The décor was lovely and our waitress was helpful and attentive. Generally the food was pretty tasty, well-prepared, and the price was fair. I would return. The following comments on the food might be considered picky, but I offer them only as an aid to future diners and perhaps the chef. I started with a Mai Tai(my first) and it looked delicious I found it a little sweet for my taste but maybe that is how they are? We opened with the traditional coconut milk and lemon soup and were given a choice of protein to add. The soup broth seemed a little thin. I was surprised to see pieces of tomatoes in it(probably added for color?) along with the expected 3 nice sized shrimp. The flavor was good. My fried rice with mango with pork added was really tasty and I enjoyed it to the end.

In town to visit a friend and a group of us went to Tantra Asian Bistro. YUM! Appetizers were fried green beans and pork dumplings. Both exceptional. My entrée was pineapple fried rice and pad Thai with chicken. So good I could not stop eating. Seriously! There were 8 of us at our table and we had excellent service. If I am ever in Davenport again, I will go here.

The service and food were great and the ambiance was very nice. I followed the recommendation from my server and went with the pumpkin curry and it was wonderful! I didn’t think it was too dark inside despite what others have said, but I came for lunch so the windows let in natural light. The only negative thing I could say about my experience is that they charge $ 2.89 for a cup of tea. Seems a little steep for a cup of jasmine tea, but if that’s the worst thing I can come up with, then I guess that’s not too bad. I will definitely be back!

I am in love with this place. Fantastic atmosphere. It’s dark and beautiful. Everything is presented beautifully. Some restaurants have focused on making wait times short that they forgot the art of cuisine. Everything is bound to be plated uniquely in a way to appease the eye as well as your appetite. By not choosing Tantra as your place for fine Asian cuisine, you are denying yourself a chance to experience a great meal.

Love the food here but can’t give them anymore than one star for their rediculous outside seating dog policies. No dogs are allowed cause someone might have an allergy. Management needs to get their head out of the sand, travel the U.S. and see how almost all restaurants with outdoor seating operates. Absolutely crazy. Shame on you.

Love this place! Fun atmosphere, delicious food, great wine/drink menu! They have a great little patio. Everything I’ve tried fro food to wine has been wonderful! Their lettuce wraps are the best in all of the quad cities! Fun date night spot and a great lunch bistro!

The décor was pretty cool. Dug it. The service was average. Wasn’t bad, wasn’t great. The food was pretty good, but wasn’t amazing. The portion sizes were very small and the prices high, in comparison to other thai spots in the QC. Exotic Thai isn’t far from this place: go there and save some money and get more food.

Fast service, fresh ingredients deliciously prepared. Plenty of daylight, and tasteful décor, friendly and helpful staff… what more could one ask for? I visit the Quad Cities often and this is one of my absolute favorite places! I also love that it is clean and serves with decent quality cutlery and cloth napkins. I love spicy food, which they provide well. I wanted my beef salad extra hot, so I requested more at the table. My server brought me two types of pepper jars. The green one with lime wedge did the trick. If you’re passing through, don’t miss this place!

Good dinner. We had 2 of the curry dishes and Teriyaki salmon. All agreed dinner was good. The curry dishes were not spicy which was ok by us.

This strip mall restaurant offers a wide array of dishes ranging from Thai curry to udon to Asian fajitas(not sure what that is but. …). It was hard to decide what to order with so many appealing options. We loved the green bean tempura appetizer, the green curry, and the chicken lettuce wraps. My green curry had just the right balance of creamy coconut and spice. Looking forward to leftovers for dinner tonight. Service was fine, even for our table of 10. BUT, as has been stated in many other reviews: ITISWAYTOODARK in the dining room. Seriously. Food tastes better when you can see it. Also, I like to be able to see the people with whom I am talking. Owners of Tantra… listen to your customers and turn the lights up!!! When I return I will sit outside where I can see.

I’ve come here a few times and it’s been a mixture of emotions each time. Some dishes we like, some we don’t. This last time we went was pretty decent. The prices are a bit high here though, so we don’t come too often. This time we got a Roti Canai for an appetizer, Drunken Noodles, and Korean Short Ribs. Roti Canai: This was unlike the traditional Roti Canai that I’ve had at a restaurant chain, Penang. I was a bit surprised how different it looked, but it tasted pretty good. They basically give you a pancake type of oily bread that you rip and dip into curry. They gave a good amount of curry, so we had some leftover after we finished our bread. So when our other two dishes and rice came, we basically ended up with a 3rd dish of some curry! Score! Drunk Noodles: This dish surprised me a bit too. I’m used to eating this at Thai restaurants with flat noodles, but it comes with small glass noodles. The taste was decent, but I kind of miss the larger flat noodles for this dish. Korean Short Ribs: This wasn’t the best korean short ribs dish that we’ve had. The meat wasn’t too sweet, so it didn’t taste like Korean Short Ribs to me. On the plus side, they give a LOT of short ribs, so if you’re here for quantity, this would be good. Atmosphere: They dim the lights really low here. I guess it’s supposed to be romantic, but I usually like to see what I’m eating, so for me, it ruins the atmosphere a bit.
