I was visiting iowa for my cousins wedding this past weekend. We stopped in at Tommy’s to get breakfast before the ceremony. This place was hands down one of the best breakfasts I’ve ever had! I had the eggs benedict. It was so good! My mom got an apple fritter and I’ve never tasted anything that good before! I will definitely be going back next time I’m in iowa!

What a great find! It’s a small family run café with a friendly diner atmosphere. We happened across this place for breakfast on a Sunday morning. They make their own donut and breads from scratch, and everything was delicious.

Nice folks, cheap prices, but the food is simply bad. My omelet looked like a fluorescent orange burrito, thanks to the slice American cheese food melted across its top.

This place is great. It has the feel of a small dive breakfast place but the food and service make up for it in every way. I personally recommend the eggs Benedict or the biscuits and gravy both so good. Like many restaurants consistency is a major important factor and Tommy’s does a great job. To top it all off their homemade doughnuts are crazy good.

Great cheap place to get breakfast but bring cash there’s no debit or credit card machine. Really good corned beef hash and the eggs Benedict are great as well.

The CORNBEEFHASH… the best I have ever had, bar none! Found Tommy’s while waiting for my RAGBRAI2015 group to finish. It’s in a lower economically developed part of Davenport, just outside of the central business district, on 3rd street, but PLEASE don’t let that be a hindrance to your stopping in for breakfast. I had the pleasure of meeting with the owner. He’s been in business for 28 years, having started the business with a loan from his dad. Tommy said the corn beef hash is made fresh from corn beef that is also made on site. He said they go through three briskets a week. He also said the breads are also made fresh daily. I had the CB hash with two eggs over easy and biscuits and gravy, and it was the Best corn beef hash I have ever had! And the COST! Just $ 5.95 + tax for this breakfast. Man what a deal! They only serve breakfast(all day until close) and lunch. They close at 2 pm. The only downside is they do not accept credit or debit cards — Cash is King at Tommy’s Café. It is such a shame I live way out of state. If I lived in the Davenport area, Tommy’s Café would definitely be in the rotation for places to have breakfast!

Best homemade corned beef hash anywhere! Best place for fresh made doughnuts anywhere. Be early, the apple fritters sell out fast!

The eggs benedict is really good but I typically get one of the reasonably priced«combinations» with biscuits and gravy, eggs, and corned beef hash and toast. Don’t forget about the homemade donuts because they are awesome. I would recommend parking in the back, especially during winter. I removed one star because the location isn’t all that great and they don’t accept cards or have an ATM. Other than that, one of my favorite breakfast spots in the QC.

great find! don’t let the neighborhood alarm you. had corned beef and cheese omelet and the wreck with eggs on top and 2 coffees. it was worth the extra money for the eggs. the best part of the breakfast was the warmed, homemade sweet roll with butter on top. huge roll, more than enough to share! bill was less than $ 20. excellent service :-)

We’ve driven past this place numerous times and after reading Unilocal reviews, we decided to give it a shot. I wasn’t expecting anything spectacular, given the location and the exterior of the building. The service was great. Our server was busy but she made time to do it all– talk to guests, buss tables, take orders, etc. After all this she still made sure our order was correct and that everything was great. I had the biscuits and gravy and my boyfriend had the steak skillet. At first bite, everything was good. Biscuits and gravy were a little plain, nothing great about them. Nothing horrible either. The boyfriend said he liked his food. The prices were incredibly low! Can’t beat that. All I can say is… thank god we were less than a minute away from home. It was a mad dash to the bathroom and the boyfriend and I had to fight for who got to go first. Like I said, at first bite, the food was decent. However, it was a different story when we left. We will definitely not be going back.

AMAZING. English muffins, bread, and donuts made fresh daily. Oh and when you order an apple fritter they ask you if you want it warmed with butter. Uhm YES please!(See image) Get cash before you go because they don’t take cards! You won’t regret the trip to the ATM!

Used to love this place but their lack of attention to detail has caused me to decided to never come to Tommy’s again. Asked for butter and powdered sugar for my pancakes on two different occasions and both times did not get what I asked for. After the first time I decided to double check with the man at the cashier that the powdered sugar was included in my to go order and he confirmed it was. Only to get home and not have powdered sugar. When I called the complain all I got was excuses. Fool me once shame on you, fools me twice shame on me.

This place serves one of the the best breakfasts for the money in the Quad Cities. Their eggs benedict on their homemade English muffins is great. It is one of those types of places that draws a diverse crowd and is usually pretty packed. I really enjoy it.

I had reasonable expectations, coming to this place knowing the ambiance is lacking and location in the west side of Davenport. The prices were amazingly low and the service was great though two things bothered me. The biscuits and gravy were barely palatable and the advertized baked goods were non-existent while making up a significant part of the menu. The pancakes were good and the eggs looked great so I figure I ordered the wrong thing.

This is the best breakfast spot in Davenport. They make their own breads and their own doughnuts… oh their doughnuts. It looks like nothing from the outside – a lunch counter, a greasy spoon. And there are no frills on the inside. And don’t expect anything fancy. You don’t get to pick your cheese on your omelette – it’s American only. But this is one of those spots that’s makes you wish IHOP and the Village Inn never were created. Everyone is local. The waitstaff knows what each person will order as they walk in the door.(And all the staff is left-handed, by the way). And all the food is good. Try the blueberry pancakes. We bought an extra stack and mailed it to our next gig.
