Food is excellent! Wide variety of options, everything is fresh and tasty. The chips are made on site and amazing all the salsas are delicious. Staff is friendly and helpful, only complaint would be the service can be a little slow.

My wife and I have been looking for a REALAUTHENTIC Mexican restaurant since she’s mexican she wanted something that reminded her of home and this is it! Everything is super fresh including the seafood that is made to order. The salsas that claim to be spicy are actually spicy for her which is rare. I had a pork belly taco and a trompo taco and they were both amazing. Pork belly squeaking by as the winner by a millimeter. I also had an agave salad with shrimp and tilapia. The Chipotle ranch is a must try. Oh and the authentic Aguas are just as delicious as everything else. We will be back! We have finally found our taco place in South Florida!!! *jumps for joy*

Tacos De Trompo Fridays is a MUSTHAVE Pros: Horchata & Taco Crema Cons: I wish the corn taco and the meat itself were served warmer

The absolute best food I’ve had in a very long time! I came from north Florida, so we ordered a little bit of everything(shredded beef taco, chicken taco, pork taco and steak taco as well as nachos with chicken and beef). Everything was amazing and we will absolutely come back when we are in town. We wish there was a location in Gainesville!

It was hot. It was gross out. It was a typical Florida day. Few people and I went to sling lead at a nearby range so we reeked of gun powder and testosterone. Well this isn’t our normal stomping grounds so we turned to Unilocal.Bingo. TACOS!!! Rolled up in there and it’s a chill place. Everyday happy hour $ 4 craft beer? Yes please! Couple folks got burritos that make Chipotle look like they’re breeding E-coli…wait…they are! But the burritos are bangin. I got tacos. They were tiny street tacos and the only thing bad I could find to say was I wish I had more! They’re small and I’m not. But they were delicious! The beer!!! Baba black lager. Delicious! I could drink those for days! All in all, delicious food and better price than most places. Little street tacos made me feel like I’m in Tijuana… without the donkeys!

I’ve been to the agave in Fort Lauderdale and loved it. I live in plantation so wanted to check out the one in Davie. I really like the friendly service and the food was on point. The barbacoa is my favorite. I love it with just the corn tortilla, onions and cilantro. I also tried the chocolate flan, yummy! The menudo soup is so good! Just add lots of limes! Differently come back to try out the happy hour with the bf!

Ducked in without enough time to give the joint an accurate read. I liked what I ordered, and it was fairly priced, but I arrived at an in between time and the joint didn’t have the opportunity to put their best foot forward. I very much enjoyed what I ate, but I can’t wait to return and enjoy the best the place has to offer. ‘Til then, Cabeza OUT!

The food is amazingly fresh and the menu is a lot of fun. You can’t go wrong with this place. A great local alternative to Chipotle… in fact it beats Chipotle by far.

I have been here several times and I have always liked the available choices. I usually get the agave bowl and I have never been able to finish the entire thing in one meal. I usually end up eating the leftover for dinner. The bowl usually comes with 3 corn tortillas or 3 flour tortillas which you get to choose. I usually get the ground beef meat on the whole bowl which has never disappointed. You also have the choice of being able to mix 2 different kinds meats in one bowl. They also have a student discount for Nova students which is great. There are seafood options but they only make it if it is ordered so you have to wait around 5 minutes for them too cook the fish and/or shrimp. The place is never too busy and there is never really a long line which makes this place even better.

First timer today and BethAnne made my decision process the best. I asked her 101 questions about everything and she was patient and very very nice. I went with the Agave Bowl with Carne Asada, Rice, Lettuce, with Queso Fresco(dried Mexican cheese) I also got all the sauces on the side, the spicy ones are VERY spicy but nonetheless AMAZING. To drink I had a cup of Horchata(Cinnamon Rice Milk) fantastic and super authentic. Dad ordered 3 tacos w/Carne Asada also with the sauces on the side. He really enjoyed them, I know for a fact this won’t be my last time going. For both of us it was around $ 20 which was also super great.

Being vegetarian I usually have a hard time finding good quality food while eating out and this was not a problem while dinning here. I had 3 vegetarian options which were tasty. I tried Mexican beer for the first which was a treat. I got the all you can eat Tuesday special and was fun after round 1. The manager or owner was nice enough to offer me an extra drink which was perfect. I will be back.

11⁄8 — So happy I finally made it to Agave Azul. I’ve been meaning to come by for probably a year now. I came in for lunch and ordered two of their signature tacos($ 3.49 each) Campechana, taco de trompo, carne asada, melted cheeses and avocado. Pirata, taco de carne asada, melted cheese and avocado. You can add salsa, cheese, pico de gallo, onions and cilantro… etc. I noticed that they have craft beer as well. I asked Nick, who was taking care of me, to recommend a beer with what I had ordered. He recommended the Monk in the Trunk, Amber Ale. I’ve had this beer before but pair it with these tacos and it is a great combination. I will definitely go back! They have plenty of menu items that I want to try. On the list, Guac and chips, Choco Flan, and Sopes de Chicharron. Great customer service! Over heard while there, a lady who asked for a to go box because«it’s a lot of food, I couldn’t finish it» and a lady who brought friends who were looking for authentic Mexican. There’s a writing on their wall that says; «Friends Don’t let Friends order Tex-Mex» I can’t wait to bring my sister here since she has been looking for«real» Mexican food.

Stopped for a late night bite with friends and figured we would hit up Agave! It was the perfect opportunity to finally get it off my bookmarked list(an ongoing goal of mine… you know what I’m talking about). I’m near by Agave… I work up the street on Pine Island, but with a 30 min lunch break, there’s no way I can swing it. I built my own burrito with shredded chicken. I sampled the mildly spicy selection and it was quite tasty. I was feeling reluctant about having juicy shredded chicken in a burrito, but I’m always willing to try something new. As I moved down the assembly line, I selected all the fixtures; re-fried beans, lettuce, onions, cilantro, pico de gallo, cheese, and of course a side of guac. And then, as I suspected, this beautiful burrito feel apart. Of course juicy chicken will soggy up a flour tortilla?! Whatever… the flavor was good, but this sort of dampened my experience… haha did you catch that? Everything totaled $ 12. Would I return? Yes, because I’m kind and believe in second chances.

You order your food at the counter and go through the line picking what you want on your item. I decided on the nachos. The chips are corn tortillas freshly fried. The chips are thicker than other restaurants. You get a choice of filling/topping: chicken, steak, shredded beef, ground beef, pork, pork/beef, refried beans, black beans, lettuce, pico de gallo, white queso cheese sauce. The nachos are $ 9…great deal for the amount of food you get. My friend had a burrito that was HUGE. She would have like less rice filling though. There are three salsas to choose from verde, spicy verde, and red sauce. You can refill your drink at the soda machine. They also have horchata and tamarind drinks with unlimited refills. You can try a sample of each with the little plastic cups by the drink machine. There is a lot of indoor seating with high top and regular tables. There is also outdoor seating. There is parking in the attached parking lot. Staff was friendly and answered all our questions. Service is quick. Check in on Unilocal and you get to choose any daily special… doesn’t matter what day it is… they will honor it.

I had heard so much about El Agave Azulejo that I had very high expectations when I came here. I have been to this location a couple of times and for me it is a solid 3 ½ stars. I am rounding up because the staff is always so friendly and helpful. I usually do need help here be she’s i do find the menu somewhat confusing. There are just so many options. Plus, there are daily special signs placed all over the restaurant. When I checked in to Unilocal,it says you get a free offer. The offer is that you can pick any special from any day of the week on the day you are there. That was not such a special offer for me. On both of my visits I went for tacos. I have tried several fillings including the Trompo(beef/pork combo), Picadillo(ground beef) Barbacoa(shredded beef), Salsa Verde(shredded chicken), shrimp, and Carne Asada. I think my favorite was the Trompo. When you go down the line and choose your meat, it is really hard to distinguish one meat from the other. Each one is bathed in sauce and most, except the chicken are brownish in color. The staff never offered a taste to me, but I just read Tamela’s review where she said she was offered tastes of the fillings, as well as other items. I will definitely ask for tastes of items I am not sure if next time. Thanks Tamela! Also, every time I have eaten at El Agave Azul, it has been pretty late, at about 9pm, so I can’t help thinking that these meats have probably been sitting there for quite a A filling I did not try but one my sone enjoyed was the tilapia. Before we left, even though we were quite full, we had to try the highly recommended Chicharron en Salsa Verde Taco Boy, talk about different strokes for different folks. That taco was just not for me… way too chewy. We could not even finish it. I was not thrilled with the guacamole there and I am still undecided about the Queso. On one hand the Queso tasted very fresh. It did not taste processed and gooey like some quesos I have tried. On the other hand, the queso at El Agave Azul tasted like melted cheese… period. There was not much more to to it. I was not thrilled with the chips that came with the guacamole and the queso either. The chips are way too dense and heavy. When I go to El Agave Azul, I do treat myself to the Horacha, which tastes kind of like a cinnamon vanilla drink. My son enjoyed the Tamarindo drink which is way too sweet for my taste. Although I know it is not as «authentic», I still like Salsa Fiesta better, but there is not one close to us. Overall El Agave Azul is fast, friendly, tasty, convenient. We will be back.

This place is pretty awesome. It’s a nice alternative if you’re tired of going to the same Moe’s or Chipotle. They also have daily specials and give students a discount with your school ID. The first time I came here I got the tacos– one with chicharron and one with steak. I was super hungry and devoured them both. It’s simplistic, cheap($ 2 something per taco), and was dee-lish. I tried their cinnamon drink that’s popular among the regulars, but it was a little too sweet for my liking. The second time I got a bowl(about $ 8) and was pretty content because I got to get 2 types of meat & they had the choice of regular or refried beans, which was a no brainer– Refried all the way. The only thing was the pork was a little too salty– but maybe that was just that batch.

I’ve been to both locations the one on 84 and the one on nova drive. I believe they are owned by the same person. The original agave azul is an older building with boring décor. This location on Nova drive is newer with stainless steel and wood décor. It is very modern looking and reminds me of Chipotle décor. The staff is really friendly and proud of their menu and ingredients. They try to serve authentic Mexican style burritos, tacos, quesadillas and sope without that american twist. I have tried almost all their varieties of meats and their trompo wins every time!
