Always great food and good service whenever I go. Service is really fast and they are attentive. I really enjoy the #49 whenever I don’t end up getting phở.

A hole in the wall gem in Davie where Vietnamese people eat. Phở 79 is scantily decorated restaurant with about 3 rows of tables. There’s Ample parking in the front of the strip mall and a bubble tea café one store down that’s usually packed. The service is incredibly fast and the staff are Vietnamese people with a small grasp on English. Came here as a four top and was told to sit anywhere. Water was brought immediately and our order was taken promptly, as we only have an hour between classes. We ordered spring rolls(aka summer rolls without pork) served with peanut sauce and each of us a bowl of beef phở. I got the special phở with tripe and other cuts of beef tenderloin while my colleagues opted for the standard. Order by number lest the staff may not understand you butchering the pronunciation, as in the case of my colleague. You can get the bowls of phở in small, medium, and large. A small is more than enough for 1 person to leave feeling full and satisfied. Within minutes, our rolls came out — each order came with two massive rolls, featuring shrimp, crab imitation(a nice addition not typically seen), cilantro, julienned cucumber, and cellophane noodles. The sauce was the typical brown peanut sauce garnished with crushed peanuts. It was tasty and light. We opted to use hoisin sauce that was available at the table along with a red vinegary, red chili flake sauce. Our phở garnishes came out afterward and featured Thai basil, lime, bean sprouts, and seedless fresh jalapeño. Shortly after, our bowls of phở trickled in. Mine arrived last, presumably because of the additional cuts of meat put in it. I’m a huge hoisin and spice fan so I constantly add the mixture while enjoying my phở. The broth and meat were scrumptious — — –with varying temps on the cook of meat. Only a few bits of tripe could be found. My one complaint would be the cook on the noodles: they probably needed another minute or so to fully dissociate from themselves. As a result, it was difficult to separate a portion while spooning it in my mouth. Also, there were no meatballs in my phở, but no worries — there was no shortage of meat in the phở. Overall, a great lunch place if you’re in the area and need a quick, cheap, and healthy bite. For the special bowl of phở & summer rolls, it was $ 14, and we were in and out of there in about 45min. Can’t wait to return and so happy to find a reprieve from the standard nationwide American food fare near campus.

The Phở here is legit! From the service to the atmosphere to the food is authentic Thai !! The location and the parking lot are kind of sketchy but just look past the cover and get into the book! Enjoy it

Our friends have been begging us to go to Phở 79 for months now & we were not disappointed. We had the springs rolls, egg rolls, and then the grown ups all had the Beef Combo Phở, and our 6 yr old had the chicken and rice dinner. The beef was lean and tender, and the broth was so flavourful and authentic. The chicken and rice was also really tasty. It was certainly worth the drive and we will be back here again.

I hate to give bad reviews but I was really disappointed this time. Didn’t enjoy egg rolls, no basil for Phở. The menu was dirty. The waiter was dirty– his clothes appeared dirty and wrinkled. Food was just barely okay. The Phở broth was fine and the meat was thick but it doesn’t make up for the deficits. The Thai tea never came but yet he still charged me $ 6 for two.

This is just a take out review for the Vietnamese spring rolls and my perception of the restaurant while I was waiting. First of all, despite the great reviews, this place is not for everyone. It is an old school local go-to Asian restaurant. If you are looking for an immaculate modern scene place, trust me this isn’t it. If you don’t mind chips and scratches and a bit of an authentic old city feeling, then this place is for you. The menu is the standard with a few specials. Newbies might feel the need for a little bit of guidance and explanation. There may be a bit of a language barrier, so instead of rolling your eyes in frustration, simply ask another table for some of their suggestions or recommendations. I ordered the Vietnamese spring rolls(the translucent ones, not the fried). They came out in about 7 minutes and they were fresh and filled with all of the usually veggies with a little extra mint. Included is a generous side of plum sauce with the chopped peanuts packed separately. They definitely used quality tofu and it is a nice snack at $ 4.77. I usually eat every 3 hours and it was the perfect size. Enjoy.

Take it from a Viet girl, the Phở here is legit and they have the most variety of Phở options I’ve seen anywhere. The menu is smaller than most Vietnamese restaurant because the focus is on the Phở and they do it so well. While the menu include a few rice, noodles and appetizer dishes, get the Phở. The bun bo hue is spicy and good too. Quick service and great value.

The only thing that would have made this place greater was if they used fresh fruit in their smoothies. The only smoothie that is made fresh is the avocado. All others are made from the powdered stuff, yuck. The Vietnamese coffee was also not as strong as I would have preferred. It was just a tad bit watered down so I didn’t get that«woooooo…that is strong» feeling from a great viet coffee. The food however is on point!!! I got Bun Bo Hue and it was just on point. Had all of the traditional meats, including the congealed pigs blood and pig’s knuckles, which is left out a lot of times at other restaurants. I typically have to add more chili because it is never spice enough but it was just perfect and did not need one extra thing. Husband ordered the large Phở w/beef and meatballs as he typically does and they really give you a lot. He typically eats his entire bowl and moves over to mine and finishes off with whatever our daughter didn’t finish. He barely was able to finish his own bowl. And of course, Phở is all about the broth and it was perfect. Would not change one thing about it. The star of the table was the Bun Tom Thit Nuong(Rice Vermicelli with BBQ pork and grilled shrimp) that our friend ordered. The proteins were so welled seasoned and balanced in flavors that you really didn’t need to add in the vinaigrette(well just a splash is needed). Phở 79 is definitely the best Vietnamese cuisine we have experienced down here so far and definitely rivals the restaurants in Philly.

My family went on a cruise leaving out of Ft. Lauderdale and we had to find a Vietnamese restaurant. 36 people fit in this restaurant and there was room to spare! This place was one of the best Vietnamese places I’ve tried. Everything is so authentic, and on top of that, they bring your meal out very quickly. Both before our cruise and after, we made sure to stop in. On the first visit, I got noodles with grilled pork and egg rolls. AMAZING. This filled every Vietnamese craving I had for the weeks leading up to our vacation and was so satisfied with every piece that went into this dish. The noodles were cooked perfectly, the veggies were fresh, and the meat/egg rolls were cooked with the perfect amount of char and fried to a beautiful golden brown. My second visit, I got the Phở Dac Biet. I got it in small as I wasn’t very hungry, and it was the perfect size for me. They fill the bowl with all of the right meats and cartilage, and the beast bean sprouts and Thai basil on the side were fresh. Overall, I wish I was back there eating some soup… To anyone who lives in the area, consider yourself lucky.

Delicious and legit Vietnamese. The place is not so elegant, but it’s clean and they serve you super fast here! I had the phở #30 with three types of beef and it was good. I love that it comes served with a giant heap of bean sprouts and fresh spices for you to add to taste. I also like that you can pick if you want a small, medium or large portion. They have bottles of sriracha, plum sauce, chili sauce and fish sauce on the table, for you to help yourself. I also ordered the fresh(shrimp) spring rolls. They were served with a yummy peanut sauce. My meal was delicious, inexpensive and served right away. I’m sorry I didn’t know about this place sooner! Don’t bring your AMEX, they don’t take it.

My husband brought home take out today and usually we go to the Phở 78 on pines and university, but I really enjoyed the phở he brought home today! The noodles are thinner at this location and the broth has a little bit of a different taste but still delicious. I like my Phở spicy and they gave a great amount of chilies in our take out boxes and this sweet spicy chili sauce that resembled a spicy BBQ sauce, it definitely elevated the soup when I added the spice. The meat was a little chewy and cut thicker than I’m used to, so that would be the only downfall of the soup for me. Overall great first time trying and will be back to dine-in soon.

A co worker gave me the heads up on this little gem. It is a simple basic no frills restaurant that serves AMAZINGPHO! The staff is very friendly and attentive. I had a medium bowl of chicken PHO and for $ 1 extra they make it spicy. It comes with side plate of fresh basil, limes, bean sprouts and jalepenos that you add to the PHO. I literally was smiling with joy as I ate the PHO and was already thinking of my next return trip. It comes out in like 5 minutes and is very hot, free facial with the steam coming off the bowl! Phở is a Vietnamese broth soup with fresh ingredients, noodles, scallions & onions with your choice of meat. If you have a cold and need some soothing soul soup this is the place. This is the type of place that you see other Vietnamese eating at so you know it’s the real deal. Give it a try it is amazingly good.

Everything on the menu is pure authentic Vietnamese! I love this place. Closest feeling to eating at home I can get! The phở ga my husband loves and I always get the phở tai. The bobba drinks and coffee are amazing!!! I drive 45 minutes away just to eat here. You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu

Great Vietnamese food on Broward county. I arrived during a weekday for lunch and had to wait to be seated as the place was full and there wasn’t one single available seat, which I always see as a good sign. As soon as I was seated the menu and water arrived, the restaurant offers several dishes that include rice noodle bowls with different types of meats, soups, and platters with rice, pork, egg, salad and other. Overall, the menu was varied and appetizing. The food was good and came fast, the service was good as well and I recommend it

11⁄11 — I do read Reviews, especially the Review of the Day. The one that lead me to this place was from Unilocal Elite(GOLD) Paul M. As soon as I read his review, I bookmarked this place. It is only about 15 – 20 minutes away from me… how did I not know about this place? That’s the best thing about Unilocal… The more that you read, the more things you will know, the more you learn, the more places you’ll go — Dr. Seuss. Phở 79 is located in a strip Mall which made parking very convenient. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted right away and led to our booth. This place is not fancy and I couldn’t have cared less after the meal, service and prices! Our waitress thought we might of been there before or knew about Vietnamese cuisine because as soon as she came to the table she said; «Are you ready?»…unfortunately, this was not only our first time here but our first time eating Phở. We ordered two appetizers to start, and to give us a few minutes to look at the menu. We ordered the Spring Roll(2 pieces, $ 4.50) and the Egg Roll(4 pieces, $ 5). The Spring Rolls were fresh and pretty big. They had 3 big shrimp each, and flank steak. The peanut sauce was delicious. The Egg rolls were small but filled and they were hot! They came with the sweet and sour sauce but we used the peanut sauce to dip them as well. I also ordered the Passion Fruit Lollicup, it’s a smoothie with Boba balls and whip cream. SOGOOD!!! We ordered the Small($ 7.95) and Large($ 10.50) Phở Soup, eye round rare steak and beef brisket, vermicelli noodles. The waitress brought a plate of cilantro, lemon, green peppers and crunchy noddles. I added some to mine. My friend put hot sauce in it. The small bowl was plenty for me, the big bowl was just too much but my friend was so hungry… it was gone! The broth is to die for. I could eat this everyday! I can’t wait to come here again, I need to try the other Lollicup flavors like Soursop, Lychee, Taro, Jack Fruit and Durian.

I had phở here with my husband and we both loved it. Dining in is great because the soup bowls are big and portions are huge. The waiters are quick and efficient, there’s a fast turnover in tables. This time we got a to-go order Phở #31, #32, took 10 minutes. Styrofoam container filled with rice noodles, bean sprouts, basil, thin sliced onions, green onions, limes, peppers(not spicy), chili sauce, and of course the selection of thin slices of meat to add in the phở, and a container of the delicious Phở broth. I asked the waiter which number he thought was the best — he replied #34 I add all the ingredients in my soup, no waste, yum. I ordered a Taro boba drink. It was made with crushed ice, so more a smoothie, and topped with whipped cream. Not much jelly balls. Last time I tried the fresh spring rolls, very healthy, and a good peanut sauce. We tried the egg rolls this time they are small but tasty, just that there are two egg rolls cut in half, not 4 rolls. The waiter helped me being the food pick-up to my car because I was carrying my baby seat, friendly and nice gesture. I’ll be back, great phở!

Mmm… Let’s just say I’ve had better in the Bay Area Ordered: — Bun Bo Hue $ 9.95 — Phở $ 7.95(x3) Tina’s Treasures and Tribulations — Total was $ 37.42 — As I said, the phở is way better in California. We are known for our Vietnamese food there — The food was alright, it’s such a small place though so there was probably a 10 – 15 minute wait — We went here for convenience on the way to Gator Park — Not much to say about this place except they treated us well since we were Vietnamese — Wouldn’t come back unless it’s like the only place in the area — It’s not bad, it’s just not great

You know the old adage that you can tell how good an Asian restaurant is by the amount of actual Asians eating there? Well this place looked more like a restaurant in Vietnam rather than in the middle of Davie. I had my HR manager take me here because I was dying to check it out based on Unilocal and I can honestly say that Unilocal strikes gold again! The food here is absolutely amazing. Of course I had to go with the Phở since that is what the restaurant is named for. I’m not going to even try to write the name of my dish, but it’s #34 the«House Special». This amazing bowl has Round, Brisket, Flank, Fat Flank, Soft Tendon, Tripe, Belly Flank, and Meatballs in it! I was scared about the tendon and tripe part but I’ll try anything once. I went with a medium and it was HUGE. I would say that a large is definitely big enough for two. They present you with a plate of fresh herbs to put into your phở which is a great touch. I can honestly say that my bowl was DELICIOUS. I really wasn’t able to identify each ingredient separately but it all melded together for a succulent, meaty meal. Of course I added enough hot sauce to make me sweat but ooooh it hurts sooooo good! I can’t wait to come back and make another trip to Vietnam in Davie and try some of the other dishes.

I’m from Orange County, CA where phở restaurants are abundant and competitive. After our cruise vacation we decided to pop in here for lunch to try their Vietnamese food in South Florida. We came in on a Saturday for lunch. The waiter instantly knew we were not locals because he said locals come here frequently for lunch and he knew all their faces. This gave us a good impression. They had phở in three sizes: small($ 8), medium($ 9), and a large($ 10). I went with a small phở bo vien. I thought the broth was good but nothing special. The noodles were a little undercooked. I enjoyed it though. My dad got the large size and it was ginormous. Probably the biggest phở bowl I had ever seen in my life. Other people in my family heard the bun bo hue was good here and one of them ended up ordering that. She said it wasn’t good because it lacked flavor. One of my other family members went with a rice dish that included one fried egg, pork, egg rolls, tomato and cucumbers. The rice dish looked good but tasted nothing special. The prices were a little high compared to the prices we charge where we are from but that was fine. The service was very good. The guy serving us was very nice and friendly. He took his time to chat with us for awhile and made us feel welcomed. One of our family members had a wheelchair and they were very accommodating. Our food came out very fast. During our lunch, lots of people came in and the restaurant got pretty pack. Overall we had a good experience and would come back.
