Where do I begin? Way back in 2010/​2011, my wife and I were planning our wedding. We decided on a non-​traditional location (Miami Beach Botanical Garden) which required a caterer outside of the venue. The first person that came to mind was Mike Mack, as we had gone to school together. I contacted him to find out what type of package he could put together, and without hesitation he emailed me a bunch of options and told me that he could customize cocktail hour and the dinner to our personal taste. We made an appointment to go in and plan out the menu for the wedding.
When we showed up for the consultation, Mike surprised us with some of the hand passed appetizers that we eventually chose for the wedding, such as: Beef Wellington, Baked Brie, Spanakopita, and coconut shrimp! It was awesome because we did not expect going in that day that we would get to try some of the appetizers, which really exceeded our expectations. We decided on a menu for the wedding (or so we thought), and submitted our deposit to guarantee Tastebuds would be catering out wedding.
About 1 month before the wedding, we realized that our budget was being squeezed from some other necessities for the wedding, and realized that we might need to potentially lower the costs of the catering, as at the time was our highest expense (which other than the actual wedding itself, is probably the most important).
I reached out to Mike and let him know what we were thinking (and that we were freaking out) and were considering changing the menu to something completely different. Without hesitation, Mike and his family devised a menu that worked better for us, and when it came time for the wedding, did not disappoint.
Fast forward to the wedding day itself. Tastebuds really showed why they are the go-​to caterer for so many organizations and other big events! When I arrived at the venue, It was awesome to see that Mike and his team had already had everything set up and were ready to go! As soon as the wedding ended, Mike and his team were immediately passing appetizers and getting guests drinks. Not only were the guests personally catered to, but wife and I really appreciated that Mike personally made sure that we were taken care of from the moment we got to the venue, to the minute we were exiting! I can’t stress enough how excellent the service was!
Tastebuds took the guesswork out of making sure we had enough tables, and glassware, as they handled the Cocktail hour and Dinner service, provided place settings, dinner tables and table cloths, cocktail tables, all glassware, bar service, servers, setup and breakdown of all of the above to perfection.
My wife and I are grateful to Mike, Rachel and all of their team for really going above and beyond for our wedding!
