Del Taco

No longer 24 hours? Fine…
However, to the head manager, please tell your employees if you close at midnight, 10:45 is not the time for the deep fryer and the quesadilla machine to be cleaned. A coworker complained of this, not being able to get fries. I went tonight, and was told not only I couldn’t get fries, but also no quesadillas, and no desserts. Why even be open???
Also, if I say no lettuce on the crunchy taco, please don’t give me a chicken soft taco with no lettuce (yuck…nothing to absorb the white sauce… blecch), and lettuce on the crunchy taco. Short of dyslexia, considering I was the only car in the drive thru, this is a mistake that was too dumb to be made on purpose.
Train your night crew to not be lazy… either have the whole menu, or just close at 10:00 at night

They have great shakes, but when i stopped by tonight, an hour before closing, i was told that the shake machine was already offline for cleaning. Mind you, this is a college town, and just before finals, when even the library stays open for patrons until 2am…

last review was close to 2 years ago. place was pretty empty 4pm. service was good, meal came out fairly quick. they didn’t have any shrimp that needed to be fried. there was only 1 other patron eating and an employee on break. they did have napkins and the seating area was clean.

The cashier or drive thru operators have always been nice for the past 3 times that I have been here. I always go on their Tuesday Taco deals for 3 regular tacos at 1.29 each and I can eat 6. Their churro is also yummy as well, tried their strawberry lemonade during my recent trip as well. Never packed, just a 1 – 3 customers at most every time I go, but they look really clean in their kitchen though.
A little run down shop, but surprisingly friendly! I’ve heard that if you mention or show your student ID that they give you a discount. I always forgot, but once, the drive thru gave it to me anyways, so nice!
Make sure if you order from the drive thru though, that you check to make sure that they gave you your sauce because I came home to 6 tacos without sauce packets): Luckily, I had a bottle in my fridge, but make sure to check!

Good food. A little over priced. But its good fast food. Compared to taco bell this place is a five star outfit. I will drive past 3 taco bells just to go here.

If they are 24 hours why is nobody there? Spent 5 minutes waiting honked my horn and nothing false advertisement!

It’s a Del Taco. Can’t expect too much.
I think they left out both the chicken and the spice in my two spicy grilled chicken burritos. Seriously, it was neither spicy nor did I taste much chicken. Sorta defeats the purpose of naming it that, guys…
A star for it being conveniently located near where I was going and another for it being cheap. Minus three for it tasting cheap. (see other reviews with «half-​full burritos»…yes…like that…)
They seem to have revamped the menu. I have no idea why. It’s the same stuff in a different font. Never more than a half dozen non-​employees in the place, so it’s nice and quiet.

The place is clean and the young lady at the counter is friendly, and that is all, the food non existent, and or bad, fries are half full and so is the chicken burrito, the oil from the deep fryer tasted like it has been used for a while. They don’t warm up the tortillas here either so you get a cold on the outside burrito that is half full with instant heartburn fries.
I hope someone at del taco reads this because I would like to come back for a much better experience

I came here 6 years ago as a 1^st year undergrad. Had the worst «aftermath» of my life. I could’ve been the star of shart week.
6 years later, still haven’t eaten Del Taco since. Don’t be cheap. There are lots of better, less colon-​abusive options in Davis. Spend the few extra bucks and save yourselves the trouble.

When we lived in the area, we would frequent this spot often. It’s quick and tastier than a big competitor… at least it was. I think our tastes changed in the few years we’ve been away and now the food just seems way saltier than we remember. Maybe we just outgrew some fast food.
However, everything seemed as we remembered. Produce seemed fine, right amounts of meat (that actually looks like meat and isn’t questionable as to where it came from). The employees were working and doing their jobs, friendly enough. Service is quick too which is good.
I used to love the Chicken Soft Tacos and I think a churro too. The menu has changed a bit over the years but they still have their staples. It’s a good alternative to other fast food taco places imo… if you can handle the «fast food» quality of it all!

Tessa really helped me out today. She let me use my coupons and also told me about the student discount. The food is pretty «healthy» for fast food. My cheese and bean burrito was full of yummy fiber. What makes this place the best is the employees who work there. I usually only eat here when I have coupons as the pricing is a little expensive for the size of the food.

The food was good but the wait was crazy long due to understaff to the point we were going to ask for our money back to go elsewhere. The people working were good but when the place is packed and only 3 employees there is a owner issue

Came here around midnight and happily surprised the drive thru line was short. I ordered the steak and potato epic burrito and it was actually really delicious, which really caught me off guard.
However, the sign on the window said they were open on thanksgiving, and I cannot support a fast food franchise who has an owner that decides to do that to their employees. Minus 1 star for that very reason and I’m not even sorry.

I am definitely biased when it comes to Del Taco… I just love the place! My friends know me as the Del Taco apologist, and I can’t say that they’re wrong. I’ve been coming to this Del Taco since it opened during my college days, and I continue to love coming here whenever I can. They have recently remodeled the restaurant, and now it’s even nicer than before — very clean, definitely nicer than other similar fast food restaurants.
Del Taco has a very nice variety of fast food to choose from that is cheap. For the price, it’s very hard to beat Del Taco. Here are my recommendations:
Classic taco: A great taco modeled after Barstow Ca’s, original Del Taco taco. It has a nice amount of meat and cheese. Only .99 cents!
Deluxe Chili Cheddar Fries: This is a must have! Crinkly fries with sour cream, chili, cheese, and diced tomatoes.
Veggie Works Burrito: No meat in this thing, but it has avocado and beans and rice with sour cream and lettuce. A great non-​meat option that will fill you up.
I’d also recommend the chicken soft tacos, ½ lb bean and cheese burritos, deluxe taco (not only menu, but available), and their surprisingly good fish tacos.
Don’t get me wrong and think you’re going to some amazing authentic Mexican restaurant. This is FAST FOOD… so expect what that entails. But it’s great for what it is.

This morning I woke up after dreaming about jack in the box tacos and boba so of course all i wanted to eat for lunch was some fast food tacos. I passed on the jack in the box tacos, because yeah, the mystery meat idea wasn’t that appealing. Decided to check out Del Taco cause I’ve never had any Del Taco anything.
I read some reviews that said the chicken soft tacos were pretty good. And they were only a dollar each! And they actually tasted like grilled chicken. Definitely beats Taco Bell chicken soft tacos lol I’m officially a fan.

I guess in many ways, Del Taco is better a lot better than your typical Taco Bell. I had the Macho Taco, and that was pretty tasty. The fish taco was even better though. I was just a little disappointed that the tacos were… really small!!! Ugh!

Seems strange to get fries with an order of tacos and burritos, but they were good anyway. Del Taco reminds me of the better quality Mexican fast food from that other chain, back when I was a kid. The «run for the border» place has gone downhill for 25 years, but Del Taco is pretty good. I will go again.

It’s 3am and you just came from partying or bar hopping. Ate an early dinner? Yeah, now is the time where your body is going to remind you. Want healthy food? Not gonna happen, bro.
Del Taco is your answer to all your late night food cravings as it has a ²⁴⁄₇ drive-​thru. Their chicken soft tacos are actually pretty good and so is their crispy shrimp taco (think it may have been discontinued). Their prices are seriously as cheap as it gets.
Does that mean you should order it? Probably not. Your healthcare bills in the long term will probably void all your savings here. You’ll probably end up eating here anyways because you’re in college and it’s really late. Some people embrace Taco Nights (tues and thurs) as a gift from a divine entity. Order here sparingly and not frequently.

Normally I don’t consume fast food and hate it with passion, unless it’s In-​N-​Out of course, but the one day I was extremely tired from non-​stop studying, homework, running errands, and working out, I was in no steady condition to cook. After a long day of what seemed like endless duties, I made a quick stop to Del Taco and ordered their mini taco salad. We all know that a salad can’t be gourmet at a fast food place and I honestly didn’t expect much.
It was your small average side salad with shredded lettuce, little bits of cheese, and a small portion of meat with small chips. It was the perfect size to tame my appetite and I didn’t feel too guilty eating it as well. The food was just mediocre, but the reason for my 4 star review? The service here was stellar for a fast food joint! I don’t remember the gal’s name here, but she was just so sweet. Also, there’s another guy that runs the drive through that got me hot sauce and he’s extremely nice as well! I probably won’t eat at Del Taco again, but for those of you that are craving cheap fast food and open until wee hours, I recommend you coming here because the service is great!
