IMO, Burgers & Brews beats this place, hands down.
My friends and I came here after the Discovery Davis in Central Park. Burgers & Brews was PACKED (1+ hour wait) so we decide on Froggy’s instead.
The place was pretty empty, even though we came at dinner time. We sat down and asked for water. The water they provided for us tasted like tap water. Strike 1.
Additionally, the waiter wasn’t very attentive towards us. There was only one other table occupied, so there shouldn’t be a reason to avoid taking our order. When more people came in, the waiter seated them down first and even took their order first. What?! Strike 2.
Despite our gut feeling to leave, we stuck to the original plan and ordered. I got the Southern Cali-​Burger and my boyfriend got the Cali-​burger. Both burgers were super greasy and oily, blehhhh. As I bit into it, I can see the oil dripping onto my plate. When I got home, I got this horrible stomachache, which, I’m guessing, was from the burger. Strike 3.
Nope. Never coming back for their food. I rather wait in line at B&B.
I would’ve rated them one star, but my friends and I came back here another day for drinks. I really like their dirty girl scout drink. It’s like an nice blended thin mint. Go try it! Just don’t come here for the food.

Came here on a date night and the food was great! The service was excellent!
The server greeted us when we got to the door and seated us right away.
I ordered the Haiwaiian burger and it was delicious! The buns were crispy and the meat was juicy. The portion here was huge! I couldn’t even finish my burger :(. I wish I did, but I didn’t want to stuff myself. Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for a place to hang out with your date and show them some good food ;)

It’s a constant battle between Froggy’s and Burgers and Brew, but for me personally, I prefer B&B.
The food here is decent and the buns are definitely crispier… but I get this aftertaste of oil… that I just cannot take. It tastes like old oil, and it just really kills my appetite.
It’s always a hit or a miss here, so I don’t come often… at least with B&B, I get consistency.

Best burger in Davis! Huge portions and flavorful — it’s that buttered bun! I have ordered the cheeseburger before and the Cali-​burger. Both were good and made me forget about Burgers and Brews. Fries are really crispy! Brought the kids and that was fine. It’s no nonsense inside, TVs on playing sports, good beers on draft. Indoor dining only (at least from what I could see).

People always say Burgers and Brew is the best burger in town, but they’re wrong. Froggy’s has the best burger in Davis without the excessive crowd and the extremely difficult parking. Being a lover of the avocado-​and-​bacon combination, the Cali-​burger is top notch! And the fries here are delicious as well! They’ve got a couple of TVs so you can always watch the game.

The atmosphere here is so dull and lame, pretty small place only let so many people in acting if their a high end night club, they wish. They tried too hard to hype the crowd with the sorriest DJ’s ever, actually swearing he’s the best made me laugh hard haha. Just don’t let him quit his day job. Nothing special about this place, just shut it down.

This review is for Reuben our waiter. He was on it! He got us extra things we needed without even being asked) he figured out that we were going to share and had extra plates. He fixed the wobble in our table and was just fantastic.
Truly Reuben is an amazing waiter. Terrific service. Oh and our burgers were good too! :) Thanks Rueben I said I was going to write you a good review and I did. We hope that they appreciate you here.
We’ve been here a few times and we’ve ordered the buffalo wings, the California Chicken Sandwich, Blue Buffalo snd the Jalapeño Burger and they were all great. The buffalo blue has a special place in my heart :)

When I am craving for chili fries, this is the place I first think about! Chili fries with chicken stripes!!! When I am craving for burgers, this is the place i will go!

Froggy’s is a cool bar in downtown Davis that always has a steady flow of patrons. I am a huge fan of the burgers here. The ingredients are high quality and the burger patty is juicy and tasty. Thank goodness for the spongey bun that soaks up all of the burger juices but doesn’t ever fall apart. How does it do that? I’ve tried a bunch of different ones but my favorite is the Swiss and Shroomer. The service is usually good. Servers are attentive but not really all up in your face. One time though the server completely forgot to put in our order. After about 30 minutes of waiting we bounced because he didn’t apologize and blamed it on the «lunch rush» though there were only 3 other tables that came in after us and all got their food before us. I’ll let that little incident slide because the burger is just so damn good!

came in with my boyfriend because we were SUPER hungry, originally came in for burgers but saw hot dog on the menu and ordered that instead. LET ME TELL YOU, the place was not full and service was slow so tell me why it took FOREVER to get the hot dog & fries?! when asked if they could split the hot dog their reply was they couldn’t. fries tasted frozen. like melt in your mouth with the sodium keeping them alive. hot dog was burnt on one side (juicy but burnt) and the buns were drenched in butter. ew. plus i asked for ranch for the fries and it tasted like salad dressing. our server was so nice its unfortunate he works in a dump, he looked so sad. only thing good about this place was the tap water.

Wanted to get a chair which apparently went against the DJ’s interest, so they asked me to leave. They should be nicer to patrons who are not causing any trouble, I was really nice, but got kicked out. They should be more reasonable.

There has always been a debate whether Froggies or Burgers & Brew had the better burgers. For me, I’m Froggies all the way! I’ve been coming here for burgers all through undergrad.
I’ve tried many burgers and loved all of them. Today I got the BLUE BUFFALO. The bun is toasty: Slightly crispy and buttery. Best buns I’ve ever had! Haha! The burger itself is soooooo juicy and tender. But the best thing about this burger is the blue cheese. Blue cheese is a hit or miss for me because I like the taste but it cannot be too strong. Here, it’s the best consistency, thick and creamy, and the flavor is right in the middle between light and heavy. I also like dipping my fries in the left over blue cheese. LOVE IT!
The burgers comes with either fries, salad or coleslaw. I always stick with the fries since they give you a good amount and it’s crispy but with the nice potato fill.
The one thing about the burgers I don’t like is that it drips grease/​oil when you eat it. I just hold my burger the entire time so the buns don’t get soggy. Other than that, the flavors in these burgers are amazing! I definitely would give them a try.
Customer service: they all are super nice. Some are more attentive than others.
To sum this place up, BEST BURGER IN DAVIS. Come by, give it a try and watch a game or two. =]

Went Wednesday, split a hamburger with my sister.
Perfectly cooked, juicy, little bit of guacamole and French fries.
I can’t tell you why this burger is so good but it really is.
This is a simple casual restaurant that really excels at what it does.
I look forward to coming back to Davis and eating here again.

Last night during their karaōke night, we waited about two hours to even get to sing one of our two songs we requested EARLY and it definitely seemed like the DJ or whoever was setting up the songs for karaōke was not going in order in terms of who turned in their song requests. It seemed like he would always choose the same people to sing.
He even had the audacity to come over to us And ask us our names, commenting that he’s noticed «we’ve been here a while and next time it’ll help if we tipped» that was definitely an uncalled for action and request! How do you expect any tip when it’s been the second night in a row that you haven’t called our names for a karaōke song… I doubt I’ll be coming back anytime soon.

A decent burger place for a college town. Froggy’s is not a traditional restaurant as you can seat yourself in any empty table. Upon seating, the server comes over and hands out the menu. This review is based on the burgers but more so on the bartending and the drinks they made
FOOD: I believe I had the Cajun Burger which was extremely salty in flavor. The fries were also overflowing in salt. Anyways, if there ain’t any crunch to your bacon, you know it’s fakin. Definitely had that crunch to the bacon so +1 stars to that. The next set of stars is awarded to the medium rare patty! So juicy, so flavorful, so melt in your mouth.
This is where it gets good. If you can’t make a good long island iced tea, you definitely don’t deserve to bartend. My Long Island was disgusting as it had no trace of sweet and sour mix to it at all. Also, when I went to Froggy’s after its closing hour the next day (They turn into a bar after closing hours), the bartender found a way to mess up another simple drink.
Ladies and Gentlemen, this is how they made a Black Superman
VODKA, GIN, TEQUILA, RUM… JAGER. WTF JAGER!!! WHO POURS JAGER INTO A CLEAR MIX??? They topped it off with coke. Guess how it tasted? DISGUSTING.
If you simply don’t have blue curacao and raspberry liqueur, then what kind of bar are you???

Just a nod and a picture of an incredible Roast Beef sandwich. Heaven! Everything I’ve had been nothing, but quality comfort food and Davis down hometown service. My absolute favorite store in town.

Froggys is my absolutely my favorite burger place in Davis! The burgers here are very moist and flavorful. You have an option to specify the cook on your burger; I usually get mine medium rare. The buns are very well toasted and have a nice buttery flavor that just melts in your mouth. My favorite burger is the Caliburger!
DO NOT order a salad with your burger. The «salad» is just more of the veggie ingredients from your burger… lettuce, tomato, red onions. Order fries instead. They give you a good amount and are done well and not too salty.
Service is exceptional here. Waiters/​waitresses are always attentive to your table and make sure you have everything you need. There are only high chair seating here as this is a bar/​pub so don’t come here if you absolutely need to learn your back on something. This is definitely a place you gotta try out if you pass by Davis on your way to Tahoe.

This is still one of the best places, underrated at that, to satisfy my burger cravings. I just wish I lived closer to downtown Davis.
Small restaurant, unassuming, but so much to offer under its sleeve. The service is always on point, personable and eager to please. The ambiance is laid-​back and very welcoming.
The food is almost indescribable, but I shall try my best. I may be overhyping it, just as a fair warning, although I kid you not — personally, one of my top 3 best burgers EVER, dwells here. I’ve had my share of gourmet, homemade, and hole-​in-​the-​wall burgers, but this one simply hits on all cylinders.
Introducing, one of the most flavorful and mouth-​watering creations — The Swiss ‘N’ Shroomer (½ lb. of 100% certified Angus Chuck beef, perfectly grilled mushrooms and onions, topped with melted swiss cheese…) I know what you’re thinking — «Wait, so that’s it? That’s all the ingredients to it??» Yes, people, simple and to the point, but done right and made with quality and TLC ~ meat nicely seasoned and cooked to my medium-​rare liking, and the buns toasted crunch on the side yet still a soft bite throughout… why Froggy’s? Why do you have to be so far from me? I also appreciate the fact that they set aside the garden (tomato, pickles, and onions) on your plate, available for your convenience depending on your preference. Did I mention this whole plate, which includes a generous pile of fries, is under $ 10? My wallet is smiling and my mouth is salivating as we speak.
So, if you’re feeling froggy, I highly suggest you hop on to this humble burger joint and give them a shot. You won’t be disappointed.

I’ve been here multiple times but after going on many food excursions in various cities since my last visit to Froggy’s, I’ve realized that they really have amazing burgers here! Today I ordered the Southern Cali burger, medium well. It was juicy, crunchy, melt-​in-​my-​mouth delicious. The bun has always been my favorite part of their burgers here.
The service was also great. Normally I come when it’s packed inside but today there were only a few other tables at lunch time. I also noticed they changed out all of their bar height tables and added plenty of regular sit-​down tables. It looks like there are a lot more seating options now, and it seems easier to move tables together for bigger parties.
They have healthier options, like chicken sandwiches or salads. Froggys is definitely underrated, you should all check it out for yourselves!
