Marketplace Shopping Center

I come here every few weeks to get cat litter at PetCo. Along with PetCo, the strip mall has a Safeway, Panda Express, Jamba Juice, Coldstone Creamery, and some local things such as Dos Coyotes and a cat clinic. Its location is convenient to highway 113, and it provides some good basic amenities for Davis residents. The strip mall has a bit more character than most, in that the unified old-​fashioned siding all the stores have make it feel more cohesive (I loathe most traditional strip malls and don’t mind this one). The stores look like maybe they could use a new paint job, but I give ‘em credit for trying.
The ceramic pigs by one of the entrances are cute and always make me giggle!
The parking lot is kind of a pain, with poor flow of traffic and teeny little parking spaces. It only has two entrances, and if you come out one of them and want to turn left you have to go two blocks or so by the highway to do a u-​turn. Or you have to o out the other entrance and wait a loooong time for the left-​turn arrow. It’s not the end of the world, but it’s a little annoying every time I shop here.
