Pioneer Park

What’s not to like? There is something for everyone: big playground for the kids, off-​leash area for dogs, two tennis courts, a basketball hoop, picnic tables, plenty of trees to read or picnic under, and a large grass area for sports, at least when the elementary school kids are gone for the day or on the weekends. It even has a dedicated parking lot.

This park is part of the elementary school field so it is fairly decent in size. The playground is nice however the bathrooms could be better. There is a separate men and women’s restroom but they are not entirely private… It’s basically a cement structure with no door so anyone can walk in on you. Either do the buddy system and have someone at the entrance or if you hear someone coming then call out that you’re in the restroom. We particularly like going to this park for our dogs. The field is an off leash dog park but your dog should be under voice control since it’s not fenced in. Most people bring their dogs in the evening, however if you go during school hours and the students are playing on the field then the teachers may ask you to keep your distance.
