I wasn’t a huge fan of banana chips until I found them here. Giant bags, cheap, organic, and delicious. I drive an hour to get these gems!

Pros: Cheap prices, friendly people Cons: Fast food spoilage. So…my first experience here was great. And the customer service is still excellent. But this time I had food spoil in 2 days. Onions are supposed to last like a week at least, not 1 – 2 days. Broccoli had mold on it 24 hours later. Had some green potatoes, some moldy potatoes. Now I’m wondering if I just got lucky on my first trip and this is the norm here.

Love this place. Their prices are under most other fruits stands I’ve patroned. You can easily slip off and on the highway. We cut our grocery bill in half my getting our produce and eggs here. I will say their nuts and packaged goods of that sort are a little more expensive though…

If I’m heading towards the Bay area, I stop at Pedrick’s. If I’m returning to Tahoe, I stop at the YOLO. Coz, you know, YOLO. Here’s where I go bonkers: Nuts — mostly pistachios but it is impossible to just get«a few» — nope, physically impossible. Fruit — OMG, if cherries are in season, buy buy buy buy. Veggies — Less likely to buy these in bulk since it’s hard for me to use them all up before they go bad, but they always seem quite fresh. The«kids» who work here are really nice and helpful.

This has been my go to stop when going home to Reno for years. All of their produce is picked ripe(not weeks before it is ready), the prices are extremely fair, and it is right off of the freeway for easy access. They have other interesting foods(jams, honey, dried fruit, chocolate covered goods, etc.) Just an example of some of their prices: Yellow Onions — $ 0.59/lb. Green Bell Peppers — $ 1.99/lb(Not like everywhere else where they are $ 1.99 or more per pepper) A flat of amazing looking & tasting strawberries for $ 9.99 Avocados — 5 ripe ones for 5 bucks Make it a point to drop by, stretch your legs, and find some of the best produce. They are open seven days a week.

I try to buy my produce and misc items from the produce market at least twice a month. I love the produce markets because you get fresh, local produce, that is organic AND is so reasonably priced sometimes I think i’m stealing… LOL… HOWEVER, this produce market is not the best or close to it. There is not that big of selection of fruits and veggies and what they do have is not fresh. I relunctantly stopped here because my normal produce market(Pedrick Produce-which is just a few miles up the road) was closed for Easter. I bought just a few items to get me through the week, the cuties were almost all rotten sitting on the shelf and the strawberries I bought were full of mold 1 day after I bought them. I will NOT be going back. I would rather shop at Safeway, pay more but know that my fruit and veggies are fresh! I should have just waited until Monday when Pedrick produce was open.

Nice Highway stop on your way to Reno or Lake Tahoe. We bought some fruits. They weren’t expensive. Place was clean and well maintained.

Good place to stop between Sacramento and Davis, or after a bit of birdwatching at Yolo Bypass Wildlife Area. The produce is generally good quality at reasonable prices, and they have plenty of other interesting stuff like saffron ice cream sandwiches and imported canned food. It’s not the cleanest place in the world, but you wash your fruit before eating it anyway, right?

Omg I love this fruit stand because it’s so much more than a fruit stand. Spent $ 40 and we picked up produce and food stuffs from at least 10 counties from around the world. Nice selection of produce too. Great pit stop en route to Bay Area.

This one of a number of fruit/market stands on the stretch of freeway between Fairfield and Sacramento. They’re all pretty good, but this is probably the best. You do have to take a very roundabout clover leaf exit if you’re coming from the East(first exit off the causeway), but that’s OK. They have a great selection of regular produce, as well as sligthly bizarre selection of Middle-Eastern and Eastern European produce(Polish cookies, anyone?). Anyway, this is a far better place to stop for snacks than the craptastic stuff you normally see at gas stations.

This place is a must-drop-by. You can get a full spectrum of produce at an affordable price and it is located to freeway I-80 eastbound.

First time that I have gone here since living in davis! The produce is fresh and cheap compared to other markets! The avocados were 5 for $ 5! That’s a super good deal for avocados! They give you plastic bags for your groceries too! It’s a small market located next to I-80. They also sell nuts, jams, oils, and other things too! They also have containers of Gunthers ice cream! And there were a good variety of flavors! I am definitely coming back here to buy my groceries!

Always organic, always fresh, worth the trip versus a grocery store chain, if you have a choice, take the 11 mile drive from downtown Sac to Yolo and get it fresh, cook it fresh, tasty, and crispy. Prices are competitive, considering there is no middle man, you get what you pay for. 5 cucumbers, head of lettuce, 3 Stalks of Romain Hearts, a bag of lemons, limes, oranges I walked away under $ 10.00. Thus a perfect spot to load up.

Love this place. Used to stop by weekly driving home from UC Davis. Produce is very fresh, HUGE huge selection and will definitely have everything you need. They have some fun local items like nuts, olive oil, sweets and chips and salsa too. Oh and I forgot to mention how cheap produce here is!

Despite their perfect location, I’ve seen this place go downhill over the years. One can now find more healthful goods(organic, more fresh, etc.) at Safeway. The final straw came yesterday when I bought something to drink, and a minute later asked an employee where I could put the bottle for recycling. She proudly stated that they recycle *absolutely nothing,* and then told me that such concerns are not part of her job description. When I asked her if she has talked to the boss about keeping so many things out of the waste stream, she became quite hostile. She clearly did not want my business, so I won’t be going back.

I DIDNOTBUYANYFRUIT. Ok now that that’s out of the way. So I came here because it’s been my college goal to go to every market/food place in Davis so this was no exception. I took a quick look around and they do offer quite a few products that you wouldn’t find in most other stores around Davis along with things like dried fruits, candied nuts, etc. I had to try at least one item from the coffee counter and one from the store itself so I went with the Baklava and a saffron ice cream sandwich. The Baklava was really good. It was only a dollar and it was nice and flaky though a bit too sweet for me. The saffron ice cream sandwich was also delicious and refreshing. It was my first time trying it and it was a great treat to have on a hot summer day. The employees were also all very nice. It’s a bit of a drive to come here for some fruit but this is definitely a cool place to stop by if you have the chance.

I stopped by there on May 25th. I was looking for cherries and strawberries. All they had were around 10 baskets of each and they looked old and bruised. I looked around and there was lettuce that was brown on the ends and wilted into the front side of the refrigerator case. Just general poor quality all over the place. Tomatoes looked good but I put them back when I found wine bottles on the shelf with mildew-stained labels. Why am I to assume about their quality or safety control when I see something like that?

I only stop here when I am on my way back into Sacramento, because getting there from the 80 West is a total pain in the ass. I remember when this was actually more of a fruit stand, but now it is more small grocery store with a focus on local produce, cheese, nuts, etc. Hands down my favorite thing to get here are these little corn and flour tortillas with green peppers baked into them. They are amazing and, though I’m sure they are sold somewhere else around Sacramento, this is the only place I’ve seen them so far. After I grab the tortillas, I check through the produce and always find something that looks good. Occasionally I’ll get some cheese, milk, or nuts with wasabi or something. They take cards and the parking lot always has room. The service is friendly. I’ll be back next time I’m headed into town!
