Hey! Let’s hang out with the entire Davison high school. Good god, why is there a line out the door on a Monday night? My boyfriend had a gift card, hence the reason for the visit. I am really not a fan of their food so I went for support… and beer. Sam Adams is about as classy as they get so I did partake in that adventure. He chose to spend the whole $ 50 G.C. in one visit so we wouldn’t have to come back. We started off with the Green Bean Crispers, not bad, not bad. The sauces were a little bit unusual. Next, the Spinach Artichoke dip. Well hello stale reheated chips.meh. The chicken wings were next, I did not sample those nor did I the American Standard burger which he ordered Medium but come out Well Done. He is a burger connoisseur and really wasn’t a fan. Um yeah. we probably won’t be back unless he gets another G.C. for Christmas.

I am generally not a fan of chain restaurants. But I got a few gift certificates for Christmas, so I had to go about the business of using them.
Having been to a few Applebee’s, and disliking all of them, I was pretty much prepared to hate this place.
And, shock of shocks, this place was GREAT. Compared to other visits to other Applebee’s, the food was not overcooked and oversalted. The hot food was served hot and the cold food was served cold. The portions weren’t skimpy.
More importantly, the service was prompt, efficient and genuinely friendly. The staff didn’t act they like they were working there by court order.
My only complaint is that the only sweetener is saccharin. I’m not saying that a place is required to have EVERY color packet in the rainbow, but something other than pink would have been delightful.

Weird experience… It took a long time for the waitress to come to the table and she was not good about pouring refills. Artichoke dip and chips were yummy but my main meal, the chicken fingers basket was odd. It consisted of frozen nuggets and honey mustard with the most disgusting after taste and smell that went through your mouth and nose. Not great — but I did like the chips!

Applebee’s is a great place to eat with buddies, casually, for a relaxing time. They have great service and work hard to please you. If you go there at night on a weekday, appetizers are half off. Get two or three appetizers for 10 dollars an it’s more than enough food!
