As an avowed Unilocalster I am always looking for something unique and interesting so on my way back from Lapeer to home in Flushing I Unilocaled for sandwiches and Bear Soup Deli came up with a great rating and excellent reviews. My wife and I have been here twice in the past week and I am sold. The soups are homemade, flavorful, and a great blend of spices to make you want to try them all. On our first visit the owner presented us with a sampler flight of the soups for the day. Everyone was very good. The sandwiches are really fresh and have such an unusual but fantastic flavor combination. My wife had the turkey Reuben and was so impressed she asked me why I hadn’t brought her here before. My Beef and Cheddar was tasty and the horseradish mayo really set it off well. The Tequila Black Bean soup was also tasty and served hot. Second time there I had the Blue Bear Club with turkey, pastrami, and bacon, with a blue cheese spread, served as a panini. Really enjoyed this sandwich and as I get through more of them I will probably settle on a few favorites. You have to come here and try the sandwiches and soups. BTW they are in the process of renovating a new building further south on Main Street and hope to open in the spring, with a new kitchen. Gonna keep the same bear theme. Best deli in Genesee County IMO. Not the same tired food as the«P» place, and twice as good.

This place is absolutely amazing! I recommend it to everyone. Only down side is the hours of operation. Other than that it’s 5 stars all day!!!

Fantastic food! Great selection to choose from and everything is homemade from scratch, salad r\dressings and all. Friendly atmosphere whether dining in or take-out. Reasonable prices and they even have a deli so you can order additional items to take home with you. I will definitely be going back again and again!

This place is amazing! I found it on Unilocal when searching in the Davison, MI area. It’s a hole in the wall with only about 10 small tables but has many awards on the walls showing how loved they are in their community. I decided to try ½ the French Dip after seeing a fellow diner blissfully munching away, ½ club(who doesn’t love bacon!), and a cup of the stuffed pepper soup. The soup taste just like a stuffed pepper. Just enough heat to give it spice w/o being overwhelming. The club was typical of anywhere else; as to say nothing real special but good quality ingredients. The real winner for me was the French Dip. The beef was thin and flavorful and the grilled pannini was packed with it! The Au Jus was beefy tasting and had chunks of beef in it. The environment was okay. A bit«up north» feel with pictures and statues of bears etc and the smoke from the grill filled the air a bit making your clothing smell once you left. However, the food is enough to bring me back smoke, bears, and all! My companion has the same plus 2 sides of cole slaw(sweet & crunchy); our total bill was $ 20. So ½ sandwich, cup of soup, and side of coleslaw plus 20 oz pop for about $ 10PP. Not a bad deal IMO

We were in the area driving thru and had lunch with the family here after seeing the Unilocal reviews. It was awesome. The owners are super friendly and welcoming. Towards the end of our meal Karen came over and gave us some of her delicious no bake cookies. My kids loved them! If only we didn’t live in CA we’d be in here all the time! Thanks for the top notch food and warm welcome!

Was visiting Outdoor Adventures Campsite and was looking for a place to eat in Davison and was instantly drawn to this place after seeing the Unilocal reviews… Needless to say, the Bear Soup Deli did not disappoint!!! We loved the small town feel of Davison, and the BSD is tucked in the main street district right on the strip… Feeling like family from the minute we walked in the door, we placed an order, trying the homemade soup, sides and sandwiches. Karen, one of the owners, was nice, friendly and outgoing and takes a lot of pride in her business… We ordered the Tequila Black Bean soup which was hot, fresh and delicious. So good in fact, we ordered a quart of it to go!!! :) We tried to get the recipe, but was nicely rejected. Lol We had the coleslaw and Broccoli salad for sides and they were also just as good. Fresh, and tasty… The corned Beef and french dip sandwiches were also hot, fresh and delicious. Needless to say, we will be back sometime in the future. I just wish we didn’t live an hour and a half away… I’m craving some Tequila Black Bean soup now… Mmmmmmmmm mmmmmm good!!!

This place is fantastic. The beef and cheddar was really good, and the homemade cole slaw will have me coming back for more. Not to mention it has that small business feel, where you sense they put a lot of effort into the little things that most places overlook or neglect. The prices were pretty fair as well. It’s my new favorite place in Davison.

Everything is made fresh from scratch. Very tasty soup and sandwiches. Sandwich size is large — order the half sandwich and soup combo unless you are extremely hungry.

If you live in Davison or just happen to be in the area during lunchtime hours, this is a great local spot. All the soup is made in house(as the name suggests), and a cup of hearty beef barley definitely warmed me up from the crazy negative temps outside. You can order separately or combo the soup and sammie for the best of both worlds. Along with my beef barley I had a half of a Momma Bear sandwich, which is your basic turkey + a few fixings and then panini pressed. All the sandwiches were served with a side dill pickle, which I think is common practice in most delis but one that I appreciate nonetheless. A decent number of tables populate the rustic, Up North cabin feel of the interior, and there’s a lot of interesting local knickknacks for sale(most notably: all the decorative wooden signs with phrases burned/carved? in them). Also, if you«Like» them on facebook, you can check their daily soup, sandwich and side specials as they are posted every morning.
