So surprised. May be small but so good. Pierogis reminded us of ones the nuns use to make in Pittsburgh. Scallops was amazing. Atmosphere great and food even better. A must try.

I always jump at the chance to support a local business and I had my first opportunity to visit Jimmy’s when we were Christmas shopping in the area and became famished. Jimmy’s did not disappoint our growling bellies. Portions were more than ample. The meatballs were delicious. Sauces were okay. Service was timely. Servers were friendly. Food was hot. Décor was meh. I’m told it used to be a Taco Bell. I hope they will invest in giving the place some style in the near future. Overall, we enjoyed the visit and the food was decent. I would return, but I don’t find the need to drive out of my way to get back.

We just visited Jimmy’s for the first time this evening and were very pleasantly surprised. The staff was very friendly and prompt. The owner came around and greeted everyone. And the food was delicious! It’s a good portion size for a good price. I had spaghetti with meat sauce while my fiancé had their supreme pizza. The ingredients all tasted so very fresh and not greasy. We saw some menu items that looked amazing(seafood trio and stuffed eggplant), so we’ll definitely be back to try those!

Wow! What a sleeper!!! I had the red sauce clam fettuccini. The sauce was perfect and the clams tasted very fresh and were quite large. The serving size was huge. My girlfriend ordered the cheese calzone, which was huge and delicious!!! Our waitress was very attentive and very friendly!!! Thank you Jimmy’s and staff! Great food! Great service! Great restaurant! Second visit: All I can say is, this place is wonderful! Great, great, food and service!

No, this isn’t fine dining, but for what it is, it’s good food. Italian food in Dayton typically means pasta and marinara sauce; this place is no different. But the entrees are better than average, and I particularly dig the pasta bolognese and the gnocchi, but with Alfredo sauce and garlic added. I’ve found the servers and the owners to be quite pleasant and friendly. This is a restaurant I like to go to on occasion, and also to carry out a pizza, which I think is among the better pizzas in Dayton.

Food was okay. Service was nice but slow. This isn’t a place to go if you need itemized receipts(i.e. business lunch). They cannot accommodate.

Tried for the first time today. Absolutely AWESOME! Pizza was amazing and Fettuccini Alfredo was best I have had in a very long time… maybe best ever! Staff was super friendly too! And did someone say cannoli… WOW…If I can figure out how to post a photo, I will… work of art! Definitely looking forward to our next visit!

Wife and I were in town for a concert. We like to try non chain restaurants when out of town. This place caught our eye. The food was hot and very tasty. I was impressed. Started with the chicken and rice soup which was ok, but could have been better. Fried zucchini. We couldn’t finish. Not because of the taste(which was delicious) but because of the amount. You get your monies worth. Wife ordered lasagna and I had the veal Marsala. Both portions were enough for 2 people. She enjoyed hers and said the flavor was nice and rich. My Marsala was loaded with mushrooms and a delicious sauce. The veal could have been a touch more tender but was still good. We would return again if back in town.

Let me tell you about our experience at this terrible establishment! This place sucks! This is the worst place I have ever had Italian food. Let me tell you, the Campbell soup with barley was nasty no flavor. Ordered drinks that they didn’t even have had to go to UDF for soda wth!!! My one son ordered their pizza it was soaked with grease, this boy loves pizza and couldn’t even eat the soggy shit, literally could wring out the grease. My other son had the calzone greasy but he said it was just OK, the salad with my meal I ordered wasn’t fresh along with their nasty house dressing which tasted like straight vinegar with zero flavor, my spaghetti and meatballs WOWZERS was TERRIBLE, the noodles were not even al dente they were under cooked, nothing like chewy spaghetti noodles, golden corral spaghetti sucks but yours was worse! now onto the sauce, no flavor, I added a ton of garlic powder and a ton of parmesan cheese and still it tasted like ass. The meatballs HORRIFIC! no flavor like they just balled up some meat and baked them! frozen tastes better than that crap you are putting out. So, the waitress finally comes by asks how my food was as seeing I could barely eat anything, I said those are the worst meat balls I have EVER had, get this her response blew me away! Well, I like them she said! Really??? I couldn’t even believe that, she carried on, didn’t bother to ask how she could make it better like maybe offer me some link sausage, LEARNHOWTOBE A WAITRESS, I don’t care if you like them, that’s customer service 101, you make the situation right not just carry on with your job, your opinion doesn’t matter I’m the customer not YOU! and you seriously thought you were getting a tip of $ 5.00 Hell no! I should have left you a penny but I thought you would get the hint with just a $ 2.00 tip. Save your money go down the street to Troni’s I would have been there but they were closed. I get the best service and the food is flavorful, and I have never had an issue with anything, worst $ 35.00 I have ever spent!

Good Food. Good portion size. Very friendly staff. We had Spaghetti with marinara sauce. Their rolls were really soft. We called in a carry out order and it was ready in fifteen minutes. Will try them again

The food was good. The service was great. No wait for a table. We will definitely go back with friends. The place was clean too. Looks like the could easily handle parties up to 10.

So yes, this is an Italian restaurant in an old Taco Bell building, but don’t let that put you off. Once you walk inside, you’d never know it’d been a cheap Taco dispensary. Our waitress was friendly and attentive, keeping our water glasses topped off, and was happy to answer questions. She recommended the house dressing for my salad, and it was a fine choice indeed. I ordered the pasta trio, which came with soup and salad, while my friend ordered the fettuccine alfredo. Both entrees came with a couple of garlic knots. The red sauce was quite nice, and I look forward to trying other dishes that use it. The stuffed shell and manicotti in my trio were well-filled and tasty. My friend felt his fettuccine was acceptable, but overpriced. For 19 dollars, both of us were surprised it wasn’t at the very least served with fresh steamed broccoli or jazzed up with some red pepper flakes or sweet red peppers for color. I do think we’ll be back, but not too often, thanks to the higher prices. Though the décor is quite nice, the dimensions of the restaurant are a little cramped given its origins, so tables and booths are a bit small, at least in the portion of the restaurant we were seated in.

Have been eating here for the past 18 months. Great pizza and everything else. Fantastic spaghetti with meat sauce. Friendly service, clean. Cheese pizza is as good as Philly and New York pizza. I was going to Troni’s, which I think is a relative. Pizza is similar to Troni’s, but I like the cozy atmosphere and friendly service much better than Troni’s. We get takeout about twice a week, and do eat there when we have company. None of our guests have been disappointed.

Great pasta, amazing sauce! This is my go-to place for Italian food. Like other reviewers have said, the decoration is lacking, but that doesn’t matter. What matters is how delicious the food is. I could eat there everyday!

The pasta Alfredo with chicken was underwhelming for the price. The garlic knots/rolls that came with the meal were awesome. And the house soup was yummy. But I have definitely had better Alfredo before, for less. Service was good though. Nice people.

I visited NYC in 1996, and I ate at every mom & pop stop that I could find during my vacation there. Never have I eaten at a place that reminded me of New York until I ate at Jimmy’s last year with my girl. We are both hooked. You get a delicious bowl of soup and a side salad with your meal, for a very good price. The quality of the food seems excellent and the cheese is nice and stringy. My favorite part about this place is the slightly pissed off looking fellow that speaks Italian in the kitchen. I don’t know if he is «Jimmy» or not, but he’s exactly the kind of character I want making my Italian food. It’s almost like something out of a movie! Haha. Go eat at this restaurant. I love the old school vibe. I hope they make enough money to move out of the former Taco Bell and able to move into a nice, well-decorated place.
