First time at Brio. Server was friendly, knowledgeable and didn’t rush us as we were deciding what we wanted. The chef and floor manager stopped by our table to make sure we were having a great experience. Food was terrific!!!

I would say this place is fairly good for the area when it comes to Italian. A great place for a big group of work friends or birthday.

This was my first time dining here. We were a group of 4 and my friends frequently dine here because one has food allergies and they are great about providing items she can eat. We arrived on time for our reservations at 05:30 and were promptly seated even though the other couple hadn’t arrived yet which I thought was nice. Our waitress Chelsea was personable and bubbly, I really enjoyed having her. We went ahead and ordered drinks and started on the bread. Friends arrived and got a special menu for the allergies. We were given plenty of time to look, we were given suggestions and never felt rushed by the waitress. I tried the lobster bisque on recommendation and it was really good. Would have liked to have more bits of meat in it but I’ve never had it anywhere else so I don’t have anything to compare it to. I would order it again. I ordered crab cakes with veggies and they were wonderful. I would definitely get them again. They have bits of shrimp in them too. The sauce is very good. Hubby and friends ordered steaks. This is where the meal lacked. One was supposed to be medium rare, the other two medium. They were all cooked well with the tiniest bit of pink in the very center. They were still edible and we were on a timeline at this point so they ate them. Also my friends ordered a bottle of True Grit Red wine to enjoy with their steaks. By the time the bottle was brought, they were already finished with their meals AND the bottle was not what they ordered. They did not accept it since it was not correct and didn’t end up getting any wine since they were finished with their meal already. The manager did come over and apologize and it really wasn’t a huge deal. But then he asked about meals and the 3 told him the steaks were overcooked and he just said ok and left. We got a chuckle out of that, if you don’t care to know, don’t ask. I would eat here again but for the money you pay would expect steaks to be cooked correctly. I would stick with my meal since it was wonderful!

This is an update to my review from about 10 months ago. This place never fails to impress me. We always come on a Saturday for lunch and instead of getting the brunch like I usually do, I got the chicken siracha and bacon panini. It was huge and delicious. I could only eat half. My husband got a tomato pasta dish with a side salad. He enjoyed his meal as well. Our server was Rebecca. I thought she was very good and personable. Service(getting food) seemed a little slower than usual but that was NOT due to our server. The restaurant was busy. I just ordered a second drink(cosmo) which was quite potent and delicious as well. And by the time I finished it I really didn’t care. Brio remains our go-to restaurant for good food, great atmosphere and service.

Thanks to Brio for saving the day. After an unpleasant experience at another restaurant, we ended up at Brio. They are fantastic. Erin the hostess listened to our situation and was able to find us a table and pre-warn the server of our schedule. Josh(the server) was engaging and supportive. After ordering, Eric the manager stopped by to make sure that all was well. Looking forward to lunch. PS: the bread is warm and fresh. Which is more than we can say for the other place(across the street). Oh — it’s a girl!!!

Let me start by saying I eat here frequently because I live very close and I work at the Greene. This place is always«hit and miss» with food quality and service but mostly«miss!» The other evening my husband and I had plans to see a movie at the Greene and we decided to eat here prior to the movie. MISTAKE!!! I had made reservations because I know this place gets busy on a Saturday night in spite of their mediocrity. I walked in while my hubby was parking the car and the hostess cheerfully showed me to our table. I saw that there were many booths open and my husband and I prefer a booth so I asked if I could be seated at a booth. She advised that she would need to check to see if there was a server available for the booth I requested. There were customers seated at the booths in front of the one I requested and behind so I really seemed sure that our request would be met. She came back and announced«follow me» and proceeded to walk me to the back of the restaurant to a booth right next to the kitchen. If you are unfamiliar with Brio’s set-up, the kitchen is open and not enclosed and this booth was right next to the line. I told her I would prefer the original table she tried to seat us at as opposed to this booth. She said she understood. My husband came in and we ordered drinks. Usually, the cocktails are the stand-out here but not tonight. My mojito was mostly club soda, very little mint, very little rum and very little simple syrup. I was thirsty and irritated so I drank it anyway. Hubby got wine and he was fine with it. About 5 minutes had passed and I see the hostess seating two women at the booth I requested!!! WHAT??? My husband did not really want me to raise an issue about the situation but I spend a lot of money here and felt I needed an explanation. I walked up to the hostess stand and asked why I was told there was no server for that booth and was refused seating there. The hostess at the stand advised that the booth had not been cleaned when I requested it. That was simply not true. I told her so. The booth was set up with clean linens and silverware at the time I requested it. At this point, the hostess that actually seated me came up and admitted that it was a «miscommunication on her part and that she was sorry.» Uh… ok…but not really. This hostess had«zero» personality! To make matters worse, we were already seated at a cramped little table in the middle of the restaurant and this same hostess proceeded to sit a family with a small toddler and an infant in a baby seat beside us with four adults. Our space became even more cramped. This was enough to convince me that I don’t need to come back. Then to add insult to injury, the service was awful and the food was barely edible. Nope… won’t be coming back here. Brio could offer me free food all year and I would take a pass.

This Brio’s can be a hit and a miss. Lately meaning the past 4 months, it been a miss. I feel like I order the most simplest meal you can ever order, chicken and shrimp Alfredo with fettuccine noddles. It’s the most basic pasta coming from Brio’s. I always ask for my chicken well done since it process chicken pieces and it’s never well done. I always ask for my shrimp grilled or seared extra because, I personally always have bad experience with seafood in Ohio being undercook and it’s never done. The Brio’s located in McClean Virgina is the best Brio’s and maybe thats why my expectation are so high. Will I visit here again? Maybe but only with coupons. Oh and I forgot the drinks suck.

One of the worst restaurant experiences ever. Service was a zero, about as good as the food.

All the food here was good… half roasted chicken, salmon, lobster pasta dish… but the lobster did come out cold and I question their service timing for that. We didn’t sent it back, but they did bring out a cup of new heated sauce to even it out. They have a variety of bruschetta and all are good. Wine list is good too. Happy hour is only at the bar area.

The food is great. Everything I’ve tried had been good. Their bartenders know what they are doing and the happy hour drinks are awesome, too. The problem is that they are clueless about how to move people. If they tell you any amount of wait, double it and add 15 minutes. Tonight we called at 4 and made reservations. Arrived right on time and we’re given a pager because«our» table isn’t ready yet. But the twosome ahead of us was given a both large enough for our party. Why in the world would you offer reservations if you don’t actually honor them?

The food is here is good. I went here for dinner during my senior prom 3 years ago. We ordered the dinner special that comes with soda. They had this crisp thin bread that you dipped in oil with herbs.

I’m diggin’ the lobster bisque. It has shrimp in it just to make it better. The spinach artichoke dip is great. When you sit down you get a ballin’ bread basket. Good normal bread, good flat bread that tastes like Goldfish crackers on crack.

I enjoyed the Insalata Mista salad, Romaine, radicchio and Kale, pancetta, grape tomatoes, chopped egg, croutons, Caesar dressing, Pecorino Romano cheese. Then it came to the entrees, they have an extensive menu. I went with the Gorgonzola Crusted Beef Medallions, which was three tournedos with gorgonzola crust and mushroom Marsala sauce. Served with mashed potatoes and roasted vegetables, it was nothing special. My Mom had the lasagna, I took a bite of it & it was terrible, I’ve had better at Troni’s and Mama DiSalvo’s. My Dad had the Pork Porterhouse Bone-in and marinated, seasonal vegetables, arugula, mashed potatoes and said it was the worst pork chop he’s had in his life, but was too proud to tell the server it wasn’t good and ask for something else. Brio is okay. I really had high hopes for Brio on a recent family dinner visit. The restaurant was packed and part of the Bravo Brio regional restaurant group. I’m a fan of Bravo, so this was my first visit to a Brio, but due to the crowd our server was rushed, only came back to check on us when she could.

This Brio is in my hometown, so it’s not my first visit and not my last! This particular visit was great because we were celebrating my husband’s birthday. 3 out of the 4 of us had the Mahi special, which was excellent! Meals are always complimented with bread and homemade crackers — yummy! You have to order a salad or soup separately — we ordered the chop salad. It was good, but a little too heavy on the dressing for me and too many black olives. Free dessert for birthdays! Woo hoo! You have your selection of the truffle glass desserts — the tiramisu was wonderful. It is a pricier restaurant, but the price matches the quality of the food.

I am kind of on the fence about this place. I have had some pretty good experiences here and some very mediocre ones. The food is pretty consistent and I do like that they have some lighter choices. Their quinoa salad is amazing. This is the first Italian restaurant that I have ever had put cilantro in a dish. Weird. If you are a cilantro hater like I am make sure you ask the waiter about this. The wait staff seem to be simply ok. Service can take forever when they are busy and no one there is particularly over-the-top friendly. Overall, if you are at the Green and looking for a casual happy hour place… give it a try. Looking for an out of this world culinary experience? Skip it!

The general manager(I can’t recall his name) called me the following day and apologized, and said he was sending me something so I could come back as his guest. That was two and a half weeks ago and I haven’t gotten anything. I think that only makes the experience worse. (Later in the day…) I thought about this and decided to call the restaurant to ask the name of the general manager so I could ask for him if I decided to visit again(I had a free birthday reward) and the response was, «Why? Who are you?» I told the person that I was Nicola. She gave me the name, Doug Thrush… she then told me that he never comes in until 5pm(my call was placed at noon). Then she said, well, let me check, he might come in earlier. Then she said, «I see him.» She placed me on hold and then put Doug on the phone who insisted that he had send my «something» and also told me that he never comes in as late as 5pm. He offered to bring gift cards to my home. I told him that was not acceptable and was invasive. This place is a complete joke. There is clearly no leadership, no training, no common courtesy. Ridiculous.
