The service was not good. Our waitress was rude. We ordered steak and it was terrible. It was dry and didn’t taste very good. My family and I would definitely not go here again.

I’ve been to McCormick & Schmick’s several times. I’m a fan of this restaurant, however this was my first time dining at the Beavercreek location. The service here was excellent from the hostess, to our server Brian. He was very knowledgeable about the menu, the area, and everything in general. And when we pointed out stuff that was missing from our meal, he fixed it. This alone would give the restaurant FIVE stars. The food however is where the stars are deducted. First of all, for a seafood restaurant, you would think that their clam chowder would be good. Well, it wasn’t. Not only was the color of the soup off, the consistency was off as well. The soup was gray in color instead of a creamy white color. Also, the consistency reminded me of soup that had been out all day under the heat lamp. And having been watered down. Also the person I was sharing the soup with felt there wasn’t a lot of clam in the clam chowder. It was more of a watered down potato chowder. I ordered the Skillet Bronzed Tilapia, and thankfully this isn’t offered on their regular menu. The dish was sloppily thrown together onto the plate. It was overcooked to the point of it being burnt not bronzed but they added a sauce of sauteed shrimp, roasted tomatoes, and mushroom to disguise it. The menu is misleading because it say sit comes with sauteed shrimp, so you would think you’re also getting a few pieces of shrimp but you’re not. If you’re lucky you’ll get some in your sauce diced up. And there were three cubes of avocado in the dish. Also I did not like the seasoning that was on the tilapia. It was a weird cajun mix that did not mix well with the fish. If it weren’t for the fact that I was hungry, I would have thrown the entire dish away. I also tried the Blackened Chicken Fettuccine. The chicken was chewy and it reminded me of frozen chicken you warm up in the microwave to eat. It was a disappointment. There really wasn’t anything about all three dishes that would make me want to come back to the restaurant if it were my first time here. Excellent service cannot save a restaurant with mediocre food. I am disappointed in this McCormick & Schmick’s and I was really hoping it would have been my go to restaurant for seafood in Dayton. Unfortunately it was not. In addition to the food being mediocre, the music was too loud in the restaurant. Bonus though, there is plenty of parking at The Greene.

Having lunch here today. Very disappointed! The hostess was too busy to greet us when we walked in the door. The server had to be hunted down to take a drink order. The clam chowder was so salty it was not able to be consumed(we sent it back). The manager couldn’t respond quickly due to a printer error(not sure why). Let’s hope the lunch food is better and our special day out quickly forgets the poor service. Update: We left the restaurant before food was served and went across the street for lunch.

Over priced and lackluster food. Would be better off going to red lobster over this pretentious restaurant.

Came here for happy hour on a Sunday which is 4pm-7pm. The drink prices are good but the service and food were terrible. There were people in the whole restaurant and my fiancé and I felt like we were forgotten. We ordered the coconut shrimp and calamari. The shrimp appeared to be overcooked breaded shrimp. The calamari was diluted by having pickled vegetables thrown in batter. After being served 1 drink and the food, the waitress never came to check on us for over 45 min so we got up and went to pay our tab at hostess table.

0 Stars. Would not recommend period! Went last week for a girls night out. 5 ladies attended we waited 10 minutes for a drink order which was taken by a not so friendly server with bad breath. Appetizer crab dip and stuffed mushrooms was good but tiny. No one at the table was satisfied with their entrée which ranged from the chicken pasta to seafood samplers. So bland and expensively not worth it! One guest sent her food back due to chicken being overdone, the apathetic Manager came over and offered a half apology. I called the next morning and requested a Manager return my call… I’m still waiting for that call! Could have put our money together purchased groceries and had a real meal.

Although we are Landry’s Club members, we typically do not go to a M&S since there is not one convenient to our home in Pittsburgh. However, while in Dayton last weekend – on a rainy visit to The Greene, we had to duck into the closest place for lunch when the skies opened up with greater intensity. It was unusually empty for a Friday at noon so we decided to sit at the bar. We enjoy sitting at the bar when we are out of town – there’s more an opportunity to learn about the area and the people. Since it happened to be National Martini Day, we decided that we just had to have martinis before lunch. They did have a National Martini Day Martini menu but we opted for our standard, no-nonsense martinis. The bartender was great – very personable and he made an amazing martini! Truly amazing. I had the lobster bisque and my husband had a seafood cob salad. The bisque was very traditional and quite good. The salad was presented beautifully – very artistic. My husband said it was great. Although I can appreciate some folks’ comments here, I have to say that I would definitely go back when we are in Dayton. The bartender made it a great visit for us. It was an added bonus that we could earn Landry points!

Unimpressive for the price. Service was good, seated immediately(we had reservations on a Wed night). Ordered a Cosmo. Tasty but small for $ 11. I ordered the Beef Medallions with Shrimp Scampi. Beef came out very rare(ordered it medium). There were 5 small, thin slices, about 2 – 3 oz at most. Three medium shrimps. Both were good but the portion was puny. Mashed potatoes and green beans were adequate but nothing impressive. Hubby had the Cashew Crusted Talapia w/sweet potato orzo. The fish seemed undercooked — mushy in texture. He couldn’t finish it. The orzo was good. We finished with crème brûlée & molten chocolate cake. Both were ok. So, for $ 65 we left still a bit hungry and underwhelmed. I would have had a second drink if the first one were worth the $ 11. I don’t think we’ll return. I’d like to give them the benefit of the doubt thinking maybe it was an «off» night, but we were one table of about 6 total tables on a Wednesday night.

It’s so disappointing that this specific restaurant in the chain is so mediocre. I visited many of their across the country and this unfortunately is the worst one. It’s the perfect storm of mediocre food, indifferent service and high prices. I’m thinking that this place needs a management change.

Valentine’s dinner was a mixed bag. Pros: friendly, attentive waitress; delicious ribeye steak and chocolate cake, along with the bacon-wrapped shrimp appetizer. Cons: tables by window next to a vent that gushes cold air during winter(they moved us when asked, so not a staff fault, just a physical one). Also, lobster tail was a meager, bland portion for $ 20. Calamari appetizer was bland and completely uninspiring.

So sad had to leave the restaurant could not get waited on. It’s a shame when your presence is noticed but not acknowledged. Will never return again.

Went there for dinner alone. I will be taking someone out for a special dinner so I wanted to scout out some different locations. Glad I did. I asked for a table but the hostess was very insistent I eat at the bar. She told me it would be a long wait. While I was waiting others came up and were seated. I finally surrendered and was disappointed. The music was so loud I had to repeat it several times so I wasn’t surprised the order was wrong. One other small thing bread was not served with dinner. The consistency of the fish was not good. Guessing it had been frozen for a while. Red Lobster would have been better food, better atmosphere, and a better price.

Had my first disappointment at McC&S today. My date ordered Amberjack. After a bit, the waiter returned and informed it was not available(even though it was prominently featured on the menu). We were early for dinner so it was highly unlikely they had already served the entire stock before her order. The next problem was my drink order for Dry Sack sherry off the desert menu. Again I was subsequently informed they were out of it. A first class restaurant doesn’t list out of stock items or at least informs the wait staff of the problem. What we did have for dinner was very good as usual but two shortages without anyone other than the kitchen and bar staff aware of it is poor form.

Just dined here yesterday. It was my boyfriend’s birthday a few days ago, and his family treated him here. Perhaps comparing this place to Fleming’s is unfair, but that’s the grounds for my review. My first impression of the atmosphere was that of a Olive Garden crossed with the Pub. Well, maybe not quite the Pub… but it felt a bit too casual. My boyfriend’s family ordered an excellent wine to compliment our dinner. Bottinni Pinot Grigio, I believe? The server didn’t seem to have a base knowledge of wine. He didn’t offer any specific suggestions when we inquired. Our appetizer was FANTASTIC… the crab dip served with crispy pita bread. I loved it. There was so much crab meat in the heavy mixture! I ordered the Jake’s Famous Bouillabaisse on the seasonal menu. I’ve got to say, the portion size of this was quite disappointing. It’s described as «King Crab, Shrimp, Clams, Mussels, Calamari, and Fresh Fish Simmered in a Savory Broth. I RECEIVED one crab leg cut in half, 3 shrimp, 3 clams, 2 mussels, 6 – 7 pieces of calamari, and I’m not sure if there was any fish in the broth… I was very disappointed. And that’s a huge understatement. Had I not been dining with my boyfriend’s family, I probably would have said something. I’m not one to usually say something, but I did not find the price to match the quality of the food. Everyone else seemed content with their dishes. Perhaps I ordered something that was a temporary fluke on the menu.(Perhaps seasonal dishes aren’t as refined as some of the regular menu choices.) I ordered the crème brûlée for dessert, and it was decent. But it was served too cold. Fleming’s serves theirs at room temperature, and I asked around first to make sure that was proper(and not just my own preference.) Overall, I’d come back for that amazing crab dip… a few of my friends have told me their happy hour is great. I’ll come back to try that. I actually looked at it online, and it looks pretty tasty. I probably won’t dine in the main dining area again.

I should have read the other reviews first. The service was average at best. The oysters were bad… very bad in fact we couldn’t eat them as they were spoiled. Then my swordfish didn’t look or taste like any swordfish I ever had. If I had to guess why that was the case… it was frozen. The texture was way off. Last but not least the sides that came were incredibly bland. No seasoning. We also ordered additional sides to share, but we never received those. There are so many other better places in the Dayton area. In fact, if you’re fine paying these prices for a chain… then go to Flemings. They are remarkably better.

I have mixed feelings about my experience here. To start, I HAVE to give a huge shout-out to Austin who worked with me to get my family a table despite having cancelled our reservation a half hour earlier. I called back expecting to beg to get out table back, but he was more than happy to work with us to get us a table. Thanks Austin! On the down side, our service was a bit slow. How waiter was very friendly and apologetic when my dad’s food was wrong, but overall it just took a while to get things, even a bread basket. The food was AMAZING though. I got the Parmesan Crusted Chicken and I highly recommend it. My mom’s stuffed shrimp were amazing as well. So overall, a good experience, but the service could have been quicker.

My boyfriend and I went for lunch on a Saturday. Neither of us were all that impressed with the food or the prices. We ordered shrimp kisses as an app and I’m not so sure what the raving is all about. They tasted like bacon wrapped ship to me. The filling didn’t add much to it in my opinion. I had fried shrimp and though the shrimp were a decent size there wasn’t anything special about them. No kick to the cocktail sauce or breaking. Honestly I felt like I could of ordered them at Red lobster for half the price. My boyfriend had the salmon, which came out as a stir fry unexpectantly, with a huge pile of rice. The lobster mashed potatoes were really good though! Our waitress was very nice as well. It’s definitely not someplace I’ll be asking to go to again though.

Typical corporate fare. Two of us went for happy hour on a Friday. We sat in the bar area with no wait. Service was professional and quick. We had several drinks and several apps. Drinks were great! Each drink was made fresh as we waited with fresh squeezed fruits, and premium pours. Bartender prepared and served drinks flawlessly. Food was nothing special. Location is prime, as we were footsteps from the live concert at the square in the Greene. Overall, better than average. I would recomend for a business group.

OK, this is a comment for the famous and well-deserved McCormick’s Happy Hour only, although during my first visit, my colleagues did indeed order off the menu and enjoyed both the happy hour items and the regular menu items. They wolfed down everything in sight and I have to say both their fish dishes were beautifully prepared. I have to give McC’s props for the tremendous value this standout chain offers during its Mon-Fri. happy hours. The food is very tasty and prices are dirt-cheap, and on Tuesdays they offer oysters and extra large cocktail shrimp for a buck; an amazing value, IMO. If we lived at or very near The Green my wife and I would have a standing date on Tuesdays at McC’s & Schmicks! Please— stay away so that we can sit where we want. Decent glass wine and draft beer selection(wife’s Appletini was tart and strong, a bit much so), classy main dining room(white tablecloth) and bar area both. Servers were professional both times and not cloying in any way(bar area only is my experience to date). Not only would I go back, but we’re intent on getting to know The Green much better this spring and summer, and intent on making this a must-visit restaurant during our trips. We have to drive 40 miles one way to discover The Green but it’s going to be worth the effort when we drop down onto McCormick’s. No issues whatsoever, highly recommend.

Yes, another chain, but definitely a high-quality one worthy of praise. My date ordered seared ahi tuna and I ordered shrimp stuffed with crab meat. We shared our meals with one another and all said menu items were delightful to our palletes. In addition, I ordered a bloody mary which was very satisfying. My only wish was that it came with celery. It comes with several edible«things»; celery is not one of them. We had a very attentive server, as well.
