Nice place for lunch at the Dayton Art Institute. Sunny and airy with a nice menu of salads and sandwiches. I loved the 4-cheese Gourmet Grilled Cheese with tomato bisque… the sandwich was on over-sized crusty Italian bread(so it was more like three half-sandwiches) with a mix of smoked Gouda, American, Provolone and cream chesse – a grilled cheese sandwich for grown-ups!

Horrible service! Ordered and waited 45 minutes for the food to arrive before finally leaving. Totally ignored by the wait staff. Don’t go there!

Nice museum, HORRIBLECAFE!(Side note, the café is NOT owned or operated by the museum. it is independently owned and operated.) Waited for a menu. Waited for a glass of water. Finally got the menu. Server didn’t know anything about the menu. Placed our order. Asked for no onions on the flatbread and no fruit on the salad. Server came back to say they didn’t have what we ordered. Waited a long time for the food. When it finally arrived, the flatbread was covered in onions and the salad had fruit on it. Food tasted okay, but not great. Certainly not worth the price. Waited for the bill. Through all of this, an different table of people had to ask for menus, ask for water, ask to have their order taken, and I never saw them get food. Another table just got up and left because no one helped them. Just after getting the bill, one of the servers closed the doors so no one else could come in the restaurant. Overall, a detriment to the museum, not an enhancement.

We sat next to the window, lots of natural light making for a refreshing ambience. Service was on point. Ordered pork belly tacos with a pineapple salsa, he ordered bahn mi with sriracha mayo and jasmine rice. Both nailed it. Tacos were too juicy for the poor tortilla but I’m not complaining. Get the cannolis.
