I’m a firm believer that customer service and sales are the backbone to any business, not matter how large. My dad managed smaller regional lumber yards for most of his career and always hated these large box stores(still does) and I know why, for the most part they employ people who could care less about what they do, just collecting a pay check and it shows. To be totally fair, I have come to this Lowes and have gotten good customer service, at least what one would expect. My wife and I know nothing about home improvement but wanted to buy some paint, primer, etc. for the task at hand, we wanted someone to say, follow me and I’d be glad to help! The lady at the paint counter made us feel #1 stupid for not knowing what we were talking about and #2 awkward because we felt like we were putting her out by asking questions. Maybe the paint fumes had gotten to her but she was just about downright rude, she could have sold us more«stuff» byt making suggestions, instead we were anxious to get just the bare minimum and head for the door. I’m sure we’ll be back out of sheer neccesity but I now have a better idea as to why my dad hates these places.
