For an Oktoberfest. its pretty nice. Shuttles, lots of artisans, plenty of food and beer, and a separate wine garden! Too bad its not very German-centric. Like I said this place is huge. Yes you have to pay to get in, but then you can also go through the museum if you’d like«free of charge». There are normally 3, long tents with artists and vendors selling their wares. On the far end of the parking lot there are tons and tons of food vendors… but if you’re wanting more German Oktoberfest fare, stick to the small tent with a grill by the beer tent in the middle. Only place you’ll find bratwurst. If you don’t like that, then you have plenty to choose from: gyros, thai, hamburgers, smoothies, BBQ, chinese, ice cream, etc. Pretty much your normal, run-of-the-mill festival food. at Oktoberfest… Thats seriously my only drag down of the rating. And the beers are kind of expensive, and again not so much German-centric. There’s the big Miller trucks on each end of the food area, but the main one is in the literal middle of everything. Off to one side there is always a tent with some big screens set up to watch the games(not kidding, like 5 TVs) and just random tables and no clear walkways. But there are all sorts of weird beers… The wine area is beside the museum and is a little less crowded if you want to just sit and enjoy yourself. There’s also a kids are where the little ones can do crafts and keep themselves busy to the right o the museum. Is it really worth the $ 10 to get in? not in my opinion, but its something to do in Dayton, and its not as crowded as Cincinnati. Just don’t expect to really walk around in your leiderhosen here…

Évaluation du lieu : 4 Dayton, OH
This is an annual festival in Dayton and by far one of the best. It is held at the Dayton Art Institute. They have tons of food vendors, live music, and last year they even had some cars from a dealership there. They offered both domestic and international beers. They also have some artisans as well. If you go you should try and get an annual Beer Stein. Last year you bought the first beer and cup for a higher price and then there was a different price for refills for the Beer Stein. Parking was the biggest problem last year as we parked on the south side of town and took the bus there. That would be no problem but everyone seem to park in the same area and they only had two buses running so you waited a bit to get to Octoberfest. Friends of ours parked in the Oregon District and took the trolley which they found quicker. We actually ended up going back to the Oregon District then having one of them take us to get our car so we did not have to wait in the crazy line. My only other complaint is that they should really find somewhere bigger to hold this event as the it gets uncomfortably crowded by the evening hours.
