I ate here one day for lunch while in town for work. My coworkers and I, sadly, weren’t impressed. We love local places and had high hopes for this spot. I liked the concept of the menu and ordered the plate with 2 sides. I picked the chicken shwarma with a Greek salad and tzatziki sauce as my sides. It also came with hummus. First complaint: they don’t accept AMEX, which doesn’t influence my rating, but is annoying. When the food arrived, I was given a plates with a pile of dried up meat… that had the texture of beef jerky. The flavor wasn’t awful, but the texture just ruined it. I’ve never actually chewed on a rubber band, but I’m guessing it’s comparable to eating the pita bread I had… so I couldn’t even try to minimize the«chicken» jerky texture with wrapping it in pita. The Greek salad was also far below my expectations of a Greek salad from a Mediterranean themed place. I love homemade dressings, and thought for sure this one would be good… if I had to guess, I’d say it came from an industrial sized Kraft bucket(read: horrible). The tzatziki wasn’t bad… probably because it was being used to try to make my dried up chicken a little more moist. My coworkers also weren’t impressed with their meals. As much as I really, really wanted to like this place, it failed to impress. The 2 stars are only because it’s a local business, which I’m a huge fan of, and also because the interior was nicely designed.

We had a gyro wrap and their rice and falafel, gyro was good but barely warm, falafel was excellent!!! I would come back for the falafel in a heart beat

Pita bread was like rubber… Food is cold and ingredients were not fresh. Not recommended. Cleanliness is good though…

Jules and I have visited Shish Wraps a few times since their opening, as we’ve really come to appreciate great Greek/Mediterranean cuisine. Obviously, a little spot in a strip mall won’t really hold a candle to somewhere as awesome as The Happy Greek, but how does it compare? Sadly, not as well as I remember. Shish Wraps has a fairly small menu, focusing on a few staples of Greek food: gyro, chicken shawarma, koftes, and a few other protein staples. These are served either as a wrap or as an entrée, with 2 or 3 sides, as you choose. The sides range from fries and rice to dips like hummus and baba-ganoush. This time out, though? Not so great. Both Jules’ gyro meat and my own koftes seemed significantly overdone – my koftes literally broke my fork, when I attempted to cut off a piece to share with Jules! My rice was fine, but both Jules and I complained about the hummus having little flavor, outside of a massive dusting of paprika over the top of our servings. Maybe this time out was an aberration. Maybe not. Certainly, our earlier visits to Shish Wraps have been better than this, but on a weeknight in dinner hour? I kind of expect better quality at this point. If you’re in the mood for Greek, check out Tickets in Fairborn or Yaffa Grill(for takeout!) in Beavercreek. Until some consistency occurs at Shish Wraps, give them a pass.

Shish Wraps seems to have a lot of mixed reviews but my falafel wrap was great. I had no pickles. It was big enough that I shared. I also shared an order of pita and hummus with my boyfriend. The hummus was good but super cold. That’s my only gripe. Maybe I could ask it robe warmed a little next time. My boyfriend had a lamb plate and liked it. The restaurant is super clean and airy. Nicely decorated. Nicely priced. We had no soda and ate under twenty. We are for sure going back.

I literally just left the store less than ten minutes ago, went to Fusian, bought a substitute dinner, and created a Unilocal account just to leave this review. My fiancé and I came here to use a Groupon. We ordered the chicken shawarma and split it. We got the grape leaves and hummus as a side. The grape leaves were good and the hummus was decent. The shawarma was inedible. It came with no veggies. It was unlike any shawarma we had gotten anywhere else. The chicken was so dry it was painful to swallow it. I am not at all a finicky eater, but we threw 2⁄3 of this meal away. That is unheard of for me! So disappointed! I have never been so disappointed in food when eating out as I was here. Embarrassing! As an update: Simon, I don’t know who you remember, but it wasn’t us. There were no repeated reminders. Additionally, my fiancé threw out our mostly full plate himself on our way out the door. It is interesting that you say things are usually fresh because 6 of your 29 reviews complain about dry meat. That is 21%, or over 1 in 5 people, that have a similar complaint! While I appreciate your attempt to «save face,» perhaps a little bit of honesty and sincerity would be beneficial in encounters with future customers. Unfortunately, we will not be two of them.

I’d love to love it but man it isn’t very good. Small plate portions so stay away from those. Get a wrap or go to Cedarland on Woodman for a better experience.

Shish has become our«go-to» place for Lebanese food in the Dayton area. Everything tastes great and fresh. Service is friendly and fairly quick. Prices are fair for the quality of food that you receive. Be sure you get an order of Balklava to go!

Not bad but not great. Falafel was very dry, hummus could use some seasoning, chicken schwarma was pretty good. Service ok, had no unsweetened tea and didn’t offer to either get or make some.

Went today after purchasing a $ 20 for $ 10 voucher online several weeks ago. That has been a fun way for my girlfriend and I to try places we’ve never been. Went at lunch time. Place was nearly empty, saw 8 customers in 25 minutes… I was happy not to wait long. We got 2 gyros, rice, and a 6 peice falafel, a soda, and a water. Total bill was just over $ 19. Both gyros were just warm. They were not cut from the rotating meat while we waited, or at least we did not hear the sound of the meat shaving device activate anytime during while we ate in their dining room. We were told the tzatziki sauce was their own recipe — I received a generous portion to say the least(too much) and that was the highlight of the meal for me. The sauce was better than the competitor I will mention at the end of this review. I don’t eat falafel regularly, I enjoyed it but can’t comment on how it compares to other offerings(is it made right, etc.) An employee asked how our meal was and I explained everything stated above. He seemed interested. Both staff members we talked with were friendly, this is sometimes hard to find in a fast food restaurant near campus, but we’d also like the food to be hot! Overall I’d say I would not return. In my opinon Gyro Palace has the best gyro in Dayton.

This place is incredible, their Baba Ganoush wrap is on a level of it’s own, words cannot do it justice, try it! Service was fast & friendly, no complaints. Would do business again, A+++.

Got the chicken shawarma, it was dry. Was ok, maybe average. I know this is going to sound bad, but it hit by chicken shawarma spot. The garlic sauce gave the chicken a kick. Not the best food but good enough if your in the area and craving shawarma. Dayton doesnt have many options you got to take what you can get.

Love the opportunity to customize meal. Can eat healthy, or enjoy the awesome shish fries. They are perfectly crispy on outside, fluffy on the inside. Good vegetarian choices, easy to eat low carb. chicken shwarma wrap was very good. Hummus is fairly tasteless, so pick a different side. Friendly staff, don’t expect fine dining, this is essentially a meditterran chipotle, reasonably priced.

I have found my new favorite spot for lunch. I had the chicken shawarma wrap and it was delightful. Service was a little slow but it’s about the same as every other place on brown at at lunch. The staff was very nice and I will be back for sure.

Staff was very pleasant, but chicken Shawarma was dry and tasteless. Not at all what I expected. Maybe it was just an off night, so I’ll try again. Really hope it’s better next time, it’s really close to my house and I love shawarmas

I stopped in here with a couple of friends tonight. The employee staffing the register was very friendly and willing to answer questions. I ordered a chicken shawarma wrap and their shish fries. I’ve had a good number of chicken shawarma sandwiches over the years from a number of restaurants, and this one was quite good. The pickles are authentic, the sauce is nice, and the serving of chicken is generous. I was quite happy with the size of the sandwich for the price(5.99) and if you’re used to packing away a Chipotle burrito, you’re going to be satisfied with one of these. If I had any complaints I would say the chicken was a little dry and it could have used some more sauce, but it was delicious nonetheless. Next time I’ll see about ordering one with extra pickles. Take some gum or mints with you unless you want garlic haunting the rest of your evening! The shish fries were wonderfully crisp without being crunchy or burnt in the slightest. I loved them, and will definitely make a point of ordering them every time I return. The restaurant was largely empty when we visited, which is a shame. I encourage you to give them a shot!

I really hate this restaurant cuz one of the staff lied to me claiming it is halal while it not. Tried their falafel and it was tasteless and chrunchy and doesn’t taste like the one back home.

Upon entering the restaurant, it was well lit, clean && the music was not super(which was a plus) I ordered a falafel wrap && shish fries; my mom ordered the beef shawarma && stuffed grape leaves. The fries were pretty good along with the wrap. I would probably come back here again for lunch.
