Yummy food and a very nice staff and a clean bathroom for when your finished there are not any outlets to use your electronics while here that is the only downside expect to spend between 10.00 and 15.00 per person on your meal

Great burgers. I stopped ordering the Smash Fries a couple years ago when they changed up the format. Tried the fries again a month ago. Now they are like shoe strings. I’ve enjoyed a 10% military discount for months until the new manager’s new 50 cent in uniform discount. Still great burgers though.

Not as good as I thought it would be. Overall I’d give it a C –Fast service for your food. –Quieter then I thought it would be. –The quantity of food was not as much as I wanted.

Food is good… Real good. Service is very friendly. Milk shakes are tasty. Smash fries=olive oil and a few other things, I highly recommend them. Smashed burgers are fun

The food is awesome, especially compared to Five Guys. Not greasy, but the burgers were moist. Loved the haystack onions and the fries, even if the onions were slightly burnt! I had a family of 4, and every time I placed an order she would read my total without asking if I was finished ordering, very annoying… I mean I am here with 4 people, why would I only wanted one burger? But after we sat down and started eating they were very attentive when coming around to the tables to make sure everything was ok.

For the life of me, I can’t figure out the reason for all of the excitement about this place unless it is because it is a fast food joint that serves beer. Haven’t found anything there that you couldn’t find at a Wendy’s except it’s about twice the price.(In fact, Wendy’s actually has more to offer, and Wendy’s fries are better, too.) Go if you are curious about it, but I wouldn’t for any other reason.

Had the mex burger for lunch. Very good. I like that the burgers are fresh and made to order, plus they can be topped with anything you desire. Had a beer with it and I was all set! The only criticism I have is that the burger is too small/skinny for the bun. almost like having some burger with the bun instead of the other way around. I think they should work on the proportion. THe smashburger fries were good. not greasy and topped with their special blend of seasonings… did I detect a bit of celery salt? The cashier was very cheerful and upbeat, which made the experience all the better. This particular location is across from the University of Dayton so there is plenty of business. They also offer a small selection of beers and shakes, if you so desire. And to add to the total deal, I had a buy one get one free entrée… which can be had at Smashburger’s facebook page. I LOVE a good deal! Caio Chow

On a trip to Dayton I was trying chains they dont have in Columbus so I ended at Smashburger and am I glad I did! My favorite fast food Veggie Burger in COlumbus is Northstar or Graffiti Burger but Smashburger topped it! You can pick any bun or topppings for free and I got the whole wheat with all the fixings, it was the best ever! My husband got the Buckeye with an egg bun also very good and another Burger with the chipotle bun which was also excellent! I also had the Cobb which was the best salad ever with fried Egg, Bacon, aruglua and very good dressing! the Rosemary olive oil fries and onion straws are also good, I wish they had Smashburger in Columbus, Id be here all the time, feel good fast food!

Great classic burger taste with a twist on the traditional sides. It doesn’t hurt that they serve ice cold beer. Which five guys does not have across the street. Can’t say the burger is better than five guys though. They are pure burger love but this has a bit more variety.

The perfect place to grab lunch near campus. Plentiful outdoor seating, and a surprisingly delicious burger. I don’t really know what I was expecting(something along the lines of Steak n Shake?), but I took one bite of my burger, said wow, and then gulped the rest down. Cheap beers($ 3 Sam Adams, $ 0.75 PBRs), and a special price for anyone with a UD id($ 7 for burger, fries, and soda). I have a feeling I will be coming here for lunch many, many more times. And did I mention milk shakes and root beer floats?

I went here having high expections because of the parking lot always being full of cars, I wasn’t disappointed, but I wasn’t impressed that much. The food was good, but seemed to have a little too much taste in the chicken sandwich that I had. A huge issue I had with this place was the high prices for the food, even with the prices this still is one of the best burger joints in the area, but I’m sure it wouldn’t be that difficult to find a better one. This is more like a 3.5 than a 3.

Order: Avocado Club Smashchicken Sweet Potato Fries My husband and I went, and ordered what we thought was a «Large» fry, judging from the price differences($ 1.99& $ 2.99). When they came out, it was one small basket. I told the waitress we had ordered a large and she then informed me they don’t have sizes on fries, that the price is different depending on if you order a burger or not. The cashier however, did not tell me this when I ordered the«large». My sandwich was just all around bland. The chicken was boring, the lettuce was wilted, and worst of all the avocado was not ripe at all and VERY hard. It wasn’t even sliced avocado, just a big lump of it. I did remove the mayo and ranch that came on the sandwich(trying to be a bit healthier). I’m sure that would have improved the taste. Overall, just very underwhelming. I would definitely pick Five Guys over Smashburger for a burger, and Wendy’s or Chick Fil A has a MUCH better grilled chicken sandwich.

It’s a bit out of my way, but I was in town and wanted to try this place. I wasn’t disappointed. As burger chains go, it’s better than 5 Guys. It’s a really good burger, and the sides are good too. I got a Buckeye burger(fried onions, fried peppers, a few other things I’m forgetting) with plain fries and fried veggies. I had meant to try the rosemary fries but forgot; the plain ones were very thin, very good and gone very soon. The«veggie frites» were asparagus, carrots, and green beans dusted with salt and had a creamy dipping sauce. I figured with all the fried stuff, a few veggie, even if fried, were a good idea. Service was friendly and fast, considering that they were kinda busy. Prices are a bit high, but worth it for a big, tasty burger and good sides. It’s in a stretch near campus and clearly caters to students. There are plenty of other chains nearby for them and their parents, but if I’m back in town I’ll definitely go here.

Greasy, half pound greatness, cooked to order, the Smash Burger was a Smash Hit. Frequently acclaimed by Unilocalers, their Signature Buckeye burger with its haystack onions and peppers, is the best choice. They also offer salad entrees and big«chicago style» dogs, which I did not partake in. The burger was a meal in and of itself, and it was very satisfying. Customer service was also speedy(prepped and bussed in about 7 miunutes) and friendly, as everyone at the door is greeted with a smile and a welcome. Every trip to UDayton campus must include a stop at the brand new(2010) Smash.

Order the Buckeye burger. It is by far the one of best burgers I’ve had, definitely the best in Dayton. No need to add any salt or grease because there is plenty. If you didn’t want that then why did you walk into a place called Smashburger. I feel sick inside and my blood has the same consistency as mayo right now. Whose up for some coldstone?

Excellent excellent excellent hamburgers! These guys blow Five Guys out of the water. Five Guys is just a rebranded McDonalds, greasy low grade meat and over priced. Although Smashburger is slightly more expensive it is well worth it if youre looking for a better burger. Fresh, unique toppings, angus beef, soft bun, its just all good.

Order: 1⁄3 Buckeye Smashburger Smash Fries Drink I was put off by the price of my order, $ 10.xx for a burger and fries. My first thought was to cancel the order and go to Ruby Tuesday and get an awesome burger with a salad bar for $ 9.xx. However, I went ahead and paid the price and sat down and got ready to slam the overpriced lunch. I was really surprised at the burger. The Buckeye burger is topped with fried bannana peppers and onion straws. I added some Cholula hot sauce which is readily available in the restaurant. I would have to put the burger close to the top of the list of best burgers I have had in a long time. I don’t know if it was just the fried bannana peppers, but the burger had an awesome taste to it. The Smash Fries on the other hand were not for me. The smash fries are shoe string fries that are tossed in olive oil and rosemary and other seasonings. It was just weird eating fries that were taken out of fryer and tossed in another oil. I would reccommend the burger but pass on the fries and get a side salad. If rating just the burger I would give 4 ½ stars but after calculating in fries and price, final rating comes out to a 3.

Great food, but the service was so slow when I went there. If you have the time to sit and wait for 20 minutes to get your food then Smashburger is fine. If you’re looking for quick service I would recommend Five Guys Burgers and Fries, which is only a block away.

Smash Burger has opened its newest store right in the heart, or as close as you can come to the heart of the University of Dayton’s Campus. smashburger is fast becoming every city’s favorite burger place. It is perfect for eating in or having a better burger to go, a quick workday lunch, the weekend burger and beer, date night, a family dinner, or with the team after the game. smashburger has something great for everyone. Along with our great-tasting burgers and smashfries — smashchicken sandwiches and signature salads, veggie frites and haystack onions, Häagen-Dazs shakes and bottled beer and wine — help make smashburger every city’s favorite burger place. Thats what they bill themselves as, and i was a little bit unhappy, but I’ll give them another go before I give them up all together. The place itself is nice, a good size, and you don’t see any of the kitchen. A wide range of menu options are available, and I opted for the BBQ Bacon and Cheese 1/3lb burger, add a fried egg, and a side of smash fries. You could tell that the burger meat was good quality, it was full of flavor, the burger itself though was pretty greasy, and caused the egg bun to fall apart in my hands, it was topped with delicious onion staws, and a good sauce, but I think I was trying to work too many flavors at once. The Smash fries stole the show though, with a sprinkle of rosemary and olive oil, they were amazing, and full of flavor and pipping hot, I’d go back just for the fries alone. If this place wants to be successful near UD they are going to have offer Flyer Express as a means of payment, which I don’t see them willing to do, as well as find a way to compete with lower prices when Five guys opens up. The fries at Smash Burger are amazing, but I’m a Virginia Native, so I can’t wait to see how Five Guys holds up here in Ohio. Still the store was very busy when I was there, and so I look forward to seeing how it progresses, I’ll give it a week or so before I head back, let them get something sorted out. Still a 3 our of 5 stars
