Food and drink are very overpriced and just mediocre in quality. Food was slow to come out of the kitchen. Hotel and dining room are in need of a makeover. On the plus side the view was great and the staff very attentive. For a good meal walk two blocks east to the Oregon District. Many good choices there. A big disappointment in Dayton. Come on Crowne Plaza, you can do better than this.

Reviewing this place is difficult. If you’re going here to eat, I’d recommend you skip it. For drinks, it’s pretty decent. The service was good, the view excellent, and drinks were standard for the Dayton area. The food deserves a 2-star rating at best. I should have known by the too-safe and uninventive menu. The flatbread was nothing other than glorified frozen school pizza — horrible and watery. Shrimp cocktail had an off smell to it and was also straight from the freezer. 4 shrimp for that price is thievery. This is a restaurant, but is serving cafeteria food at high prices. There are so many great choices in the immediate area so why settle for this?

They start off wrong. 2 servers? And maintenance guy? Wtf? Not even willing to help. Don’t care about the food yet. Haven’t gotten there yet.
They are severely understaffed! Realizing that the 2 waitresses are doing the best they can to keep up. Very nice ladies! Robin was our waitress and she was nice and pleasant even though she was over whelmed.
The food was good. They had a decent spread of meat, eggs, fruit, oatmeal and yogurt. The waffle irons were down while we were eating.
We did the buffet and started eating while waiting in line to get sat. Hungry and on a time budget.
The view: AMAZING! So neat to see the whole city and Miami river from the table. Dayton has charm.
The 3 stars are for Robin and the view.

Stayed at the Crown Plaza. Rooms are clean and well appointed but the hotel is staring to show her age. The staff could not be nicer. Ate breakfastbuffet at View 162. The 12.95 price is about where it should be. There is not an abundance of variety but what the was was decent; with the exception of the eggs. I was one of one two customers. The eggs appear to be the original eggs laid out at 0600 that morning. Pretty old. What bugged me was that coffee was not apart of the buffet and it was 3.00. That placed the total cost of this buffet out of the relm of a decent deal. The view however is worth a couple of bucks. Still only three stars.

Came here at 10 pm one evening. They serve until midnight. It was relatively quiet with a few people at the bar and three tables with people. I ordered a drink, got a menu, and they never came back with my drink, to get my order and see if I needed anything. After half an hour, I left.

Terrible service. The wait staff are friendly enough, but the food takes FOREVER. A whole table next to us cancelled their orders, we asked for ours to go and it still took another 10 minutes. We were the 3^rd table to arrive that morning. Would rather pay for a rental car and go somewhere else than go here again.

I needed a place that was open late and this restaurant served that purpose. The food was overpriced for the quality but it was good enough. The restaurant is at the very top of the Crowne Plaza hotel in downtown Dayton and the 360 views overlook the whole city. Probably a better place to grab a drink instead of dinner.

I came in tonight with my husband and two children (3 and 8 months) after checking into the Crown Plaza. I was worried about feeling out of place in a nice restaurant with my road trip weary t-shirt, track-pant clad spouse, and two young children but instead I was made to feel completely welcomed by the staff. Both Dennis and Sarah were lovely and attentive to us and even seemed to delight in having the kids there. The food was very good — although I took a star away for the mains taking a very long time to arrive. They made every effort to accommodate us and we left very happy with our experience. Absolutely wonderful service from both of them. Thank you Dennis and Sarah from all of us!

A bit pricy yes, but they make the best Irish coffee I have ever had. The service and staff are very nice, they are polite, knowledgeable and seem truly interested in making sure you’re taken care of. The view is great considering it’s Dayton and not Chicago or Vegas and their live music is rather charming. The music is not too loud that you can’t have a conversation and not too soft that you have to sit close to the musicians which is great since it allows you to enjoy a table anywhere.
There were some questionable characters that came in for a drink but they didn’t stay long (probably the prices) however, for the most part I quite enjoyed myself.
The hotel itself is in much need of renovation but the 162 rooftop bar was great.

I was a hotel guest and came upstairs to have dinner at the bar rather then braving the cold. There dinner menu was kind of expensive. But I asked nicely if they have sandwiches and was given the lunch menu with no issue.
Get the cardiac burger, medium rare. Amazing. I was coming from Austin TX and had just been to one of the best burger places in town (hopdaddy’s) this was way better. I paid $ 12 including sweet potato fries which was pretty reasonable for a hotel restaurant. Decent wine list too. They give you one of those little carafe’s and pour generously, so it’s more like 1.5 to 2 glasses for $ 7.
Bartenders were friendly and attentive. friendly bar crowd of business travelers.
