Bahama Breeze

A giftcard in hand and chalking up our previous experience here to a fluke, we came in for lunch.
Have you ever said to yourself, «I could really go for some Applebee’s, but I want to pay much more?»
The food was average at best, but overpriced at $ 12 for a sandwich and $ 11 for a burger. Conch fritters were a decided let-​down. I think a more appropriate name for them would be conch-​flavored hush puppies. Everything took way too long to come out for the level of business this place was doing, including drinks.
Normally that would net a 2-​star review and an assurance that I’m never coming back, but our very special server really made the experience a weird one. After we sat, she came to our table and stood silently. No greeting, introduction, nothing. I figured the lady was (somehow inexplicably) busy, so I just started our order — hey, some people are straight-​to-​business, and I can appreciate that. She replied with «oh, I didn’t know you were ready!,» then took the drink menu, said — verbatim — «I’m required by law to show you this» — flipped through the pages silently, and then left with our drink order.
She came back a few minutes later with drinks (mispronouncing the second word in the beer — Stella AR-​twaa, not Stella Ar-​Tee-​ous) and the assurance that the kid’s menu item ordered for my fat son would come out quickly, because they have runners. She reiterated that again, «we have runners.» Plus, some odd requests from her while food was being delivered («please move everything away, this plate needs to go here») and when the table was being cleared («can you put all the silverware on this plate? Now hand it to me carefully») just made it a strange experience.
Also seated at the next booth was a woman wearing only pants, pulled up to her armpits.

Popped in during speedweeks for lunch. Service was great — fast, attentive, and cheerful. The food was good — I had the Chipotle beef bowl, my companion the wood grilled chicken sandwich.
Special requests were handled without any issues, and the food was hot, flavorful, and filling. Definitely worth a return trip. Really want to explore the menu some more.
Big props to Bahama Breeze for offering smaller (not half-​size) portions … food waste (huge portons that don’t get completely eaten) is an awful problem, and being able to order a slightly smaller portion was great. I cleaned the plate with out stuffing myself.

Great place for lunch or dinner. Located right on the strip. Weekends are usually the busiest and of course holidays because it is near the mall.
They have a great appetizer and drink selection. My favorite is their shrimp and lobster quesadilla.

Service is good. I asked the waitress about three dishes and she said the Jerk chicken was the most popular, so I tried it. I like the jerk chicken in Jamaica, going back a number of times to the beach bar. This chicken was too «crusty» although the meat was moist instead of being covered in jerk sauce.

Great atmosphere! Coconut Shrimp, tostones with chicken and cheese breeze bites were amazing!

I had a carnitas rice bowl and I liked it. The wait staff was friendly but seemed a bit robotic. Our waitress neglected to remind me it was still happy hour but when I caught that from the menu the bill grew by 33%. I appreciated the Unilocal check-​in offer of a free small plate.

Got seated right away. Must have been short staffed, because we were limited to sitting outside or in the bar area. Waited 10 minutes before anyone came to speak to us.
We were happy to take advantage of the late night happy hour prices and ordered firecracker shrimp, half order of wings and lobster and shrimp quesadilla. It took forever for us to get our food, can’t say it was worth the wait.

Bathrooms smell like piss and drink have been empty for over 10 min. Spoke to manager and drinks are still empty! WTF. GET IT TOGETHER

Our waitress Juranga gave us exceptional service. We told her we were in a rush, and she was able to make recommendations, serve us, and bring us our tab all under 20 mins!

Lack of service or concern made for a ‘meh’ experience for our party of 16 that gathered in town to celebrate my daughter’s 19^th birthday.
Neither the la-​tee-​da manager nor hostess staff seemed to care at all that after taking reservations for our party of 16, our party was broken up into two tables. This created a real awkward situation for the four that hadn’t met the rest of the party, and also for the birthday girl. When we tried to get a bigger table we were then told they couldn’t accommodate 16. This would have been ideal if they mentioned this over the phone during the reservation process. We would have dined elsewhere. I digress…
Then comes the ordering. I ordered the Conch Fritters and was told they didn’t know if they had them or not. What?
Then comes the burger I ordered medium rare. It was medium well at best. The apps were decent but came out cold. The pasta entrée that a few of us ordered came out cold.
One of us didn’t get her meal until almost ten minutes after everyone else. She was the one most ‘traumatized’ about the seating and switching tables, and was also fresh off a plane… I digress…
Then for ages, no servers, and a party up at the hostes stand (laughing and goofing off). The manager was missing in action the about the entie time.
So, we just decided to sing ‘happy birthday’ without a cake or candle to blow out because we knew it be another 20 minutes before that came out.
Horrible, awkward, sad experience on a night that was planned and supposed to be special. The entire first 15 minutes after being seated was everyone talking about the situation. And after a terrible experience at a Jacksonville Olive Garden restaurant on Tuesday, all I could do was just sigh.
Never. Going. Back. Thanks, Bahama Breeze!

My rating is not based on the food. It’s based on the service and the drinks. If the food had been good this easily would have been 5 stars. If I had based my review solely on the food it would be 3 stars as the food was just ok. However, the drinks were great. But even better than the drinks was the super friendly service we received. The atmosphere/​look of the place was really nice too, and clean. I had taken a pic of my drink but now I can’t find it anywhere. C’est la vie.

Tasty food! I visited Daytona Beach for business and wanted to find some place nearby to have lunch. We stumbled upon this restaurant because we all wanted to try something different. I’m glad we did because the server, Lindsay, was very nice and cordial to our table. The food was great and the service was even better.
Would definitely recommend! Just be warned, the menu is just a little overwhelming — and that’s a good thing :)

Menu is seriously so large that it’s overwhelming. I really like the interior of the place and service is pretty great.
Bloody marys were not very good. I ordered the grilled chicken cilantro crema and it was AHMAZING! It was light and full of great flavors-​seriously delicious.
We finished off with rum cake and coffee. Also very good!

Enjoyed the whole dining experience. Our waiter was wonderful and attentive. Nice outdoor seating. Great appetizers and live DJ. Was not too loud. Just the right amount of fun. Would highly recommend this for just before race time.

It was nice outside and they had live music, which was a plus! We had the shrimp and lobster quesadilla, seafood paella, and the Hawaii drink. All were really good. I would come back, maybe for a date night, birthday, or a holiday.

Clean. nice staff but slow… drinks are either being watered down. or there’s way to much ice… I don’t pay for ice. I pay for a drink. I don’t care that your a franchise.2 Oz per a tall glass with a ton of ice. beer or shots your best bet. Food was okay. Nothing to write home about.

The food and the service was exceptional here. I love that they added «small bites» to the menu. The only reason why I didn’t give it 5 stars is because I ordered a goat cheese and guacamole burger, and it came with no guacamole. It was still very good though. The drinks are great and consistent.

After a day at the race track the family needed some grubb, so our local tour guide took us here with the kids… We ate like winners of the Daytona 500 with a belly full of local seafood.

Meh. Food is unimpressive, and drinks are weak. Service is good, and they have a good happy hour, but I still don’t feel like going back.

Fell way below our expectations and didn’t match up to other locations I have been to around the country. Jeremy was our server he did a great job delivering below par food not his fault he was great. We were very disappointed the with the food quality and the value is not at the level of the prices.
App– Chips with spinach and artichoke dip not warm and had a weird bitter bite the chips were stale and the cold plantain chips isn’t a nice touch.
Entrees — I had the Applewood Bacon Cheddar Cheese Burger it was just okay it won’t be anything I will be craving anytime soon. My GF ordered the Shrimp and Sausage Creole basically some rice, tomato sauce with some bland veggies and green olives (very odd not a good mix and we love olives) absolutely not spicy the server brought over some hot sauce that didn’t really help it. I don’t see myself going back maybe to meet friends for drinks before leaving and going to dinner somewhere else.
