I wish I took a picture of my food before I ate it. But it was soooo good I forgot about pictures. Lunch special came with fried or white rice, miso soup or soda. I got the steak hibachi and it was done just right. Steak was cut in small pieces which made it easy to eat. And the miso soup came in a decent size cup. So it was all so filling. I would come back if I ever can.

I love it when new places open up. I always get excited that I get to visit some place new. So seeing the signs for Hibachi Express and then the open sign had me thinking of when I would go. I decided to try Hibachi for a late lunch; I expect more out of dinner and figured I could handle a less than stellar lunch experience. Walking in, I could see that emphasis was on the«EXPRESS» in the name. This is fast food Asian. The menu is rather sparse, but I went ahead and ordered for my friend and I since we were already there and both of us were rather famished. On our plate for the day: Gyoza Teriyaki Chicken Yakisoba Beef(no mushrooms; no sesame seeds) I sat down after ordering at the counter and shivered. The interior was ridiculously cold in the seating area; luckily I brought my hoodie and so I put it on. Still a tad frigid, but it was better. I heard a microwave being used several times which just confirmed my thought that I was at a fast food joint more so than a true hibachi. We were the only order in at that time, so I know the microwave was for our food. We were brought our gyoza and chicken teriyaki at the same time. I was so hungry that I ripped the plastic lid off of the gyoza and the ponzu sauce and started eating without waiting for my friend to start. Bad manners on my part, but at least he had his lunch entrée. The gyoza were nothing special and were not very flavorful; the ponzu had the same reaction. After eating my first gyoza, I stole some of the chicken teriyaki from my friend to see how it tasted and figured I would stick with the gyoza until my Yakisoba arrived. The teriyaki tasted like a watered down Yoshida sauce that anyone can get from Sam’s Club and I didn’t feel the need to steal anymore of it. I ate the rest of the gyoza. My Beef Yakisoba finally arrived. It was filled with noodles, beef and green onions with a brown sauce. I mixed it up and took a bite. It suffered from the same weak flavor that the other food, so I went ahead and dumped a bunch of the remaining ponzu sauce and then added a good amount of Sriracha and mixed it all up. I finished my meal and was no longer hungry. Again, it is a fast food joint so I wasn’t expecting much. I was expecting a bit more flavor for the $ 24 I paid for the meal, but it is leagues above typical fast food like McDonald’s and Burger King. I am truly glad I tried this place for lunch and only lunch.
