definitely the worst Japanese restaurant I have ever been to(if not, one of the worst). The sashimi are not fresh(though in very big slice) the sushi is really bad. What disappointed me most is the people working there are saying Korean but it’s a Japanese restaurant?! They dont even have Ramen or Udon… The price is far higher than expected. definitely not coming back again.

I got a lot of nigiri pieces, which was pleasing to me since I got more compared to the other places. The service was great. The atmosphere was great. The dessert was heavenly.

We were pleasantly surprised by this restaurant. It doesn’t look like much from outside but inside it is clean and the service is polite and attentive. I saved the best for last, the food. It was fresh and very tasty! We ate sushi and would recommend it to anyone.

Sushi was actually outstanding. Presentation was poor. Ginger wasn’t fresh. They played classic rock louder thanthey should. Décor was pedestrian. But again, sushi was great. Shrimp tempura was warm! Not bad for Daytona beach. I’ll take what I can get out here.

Great sushi and sashimi box for lunch, had a variety of rolls, included 2 eggrolls and some orange slices. Bit pricey, total bill was around $ 18 with a drink. Very friendly, fast service.

This is my first time writing a review, but I am long time Unilocal user and a long time patron of Edamame. Any bad, or even mediocre, reviews on here I just don’t see how. I’ve been here many times over the years and it has always been a great experience. I am a graduate student and every time I come home I always make sure to make my parents take me here. This is my absolute favorite place in the Daytona area for sushi/hibachi/Japanese food. This is my favorite place for a reason. GREAT tasting food, awesome service, super clean and fair prices. There is a reason why I drive 20minutes and pass other places to come here!

I cannot seem to find the option for zero stars but I will proceed anyway. We turned off International Speedway to look for an old Chinese restaurant on the same lot only to notice it was no longer there. After doing the usual«where do you wanna go?, where do YOU wanna go?» with my friend, we looked up and saw Edamame. I am usually the one to turn immediately away from dinner spots that are completely empty(there were 2 other people in the whole place when we walked in!) at dinner time on a Saturday night but, against my better judgement, decided to give Edamame a shot. Probably the worst Teriyaki chicken I have ever had :(. More than half the onions were burnt black! The sauce and the chicken were bland and the rice was soggy! A Japanese place within the«American heartland» that cannot make even average Teriyaki is sort of like a Kenyan who cannot jog, leave alone run :). I kid, I kid :) My fried had the Chicken Tempura which was about 90% breading and 10% chicken. The server was very friendly and attentive but sadly, the food was horrible. We will neither be returning to Edamame nor recommending it to any of our friends :(.

The food was great. We ordered hibachi and sushi and both were great. We will definitely come back.

Still the best sushi in Daytona Beach. I’ve been to all of the sushi restaurants and this is still the only one I return to on a regular basis. If you want quality sushi, great hibachi, you go here. You want a bar scene and waitresses who don’t have a clue about sushi and don’t even know what Ramen is and average sushi… Go to Ronin. Edamane, by far, has the best quality sushi available, and their rolls are delicious.

Sushi was not fresh, and very over-priced for its quality. Only maguro was okayish. Definitely don’t go here for sushi or sashimi.

Great service. The atmosphere is very quiet for a hibachi restaurant. The food is decent but pricey without coupons. The chef at the hibachi table is very pleasant but showmanship is lacking. Go for the food, not the show.

Nothing to write home about, seems like a common theme for the Daytona area. Ok service, sushi is just ok — hit or miss with how fresh it seems.

Food. Check. Service. Check. My boyfriend and I came across this place through word of mouth after relocating to Daytona Beach from California. We became regulars since our first visit. First off, Edamame has lunch specials that are very budget-friendly.(i.e. sushi roll specials and bento boxes) Coming from a sushiholic who has experienced many excellent sushi spots in California, I’ve tried most of Edamame’s rolls and haven’t had any that I disliked. Vicky, the owner, is a very sweet lady who attends to every needs of her customers. Her service has been nothing but superb. This place could have definitely found a better location as it’s somewhat hidden. But for those who find it and try it I believe it’ll be likely to get attached!

Save your money and don’t come here! This place made me so mad that I was inclined to make this my first, official review! How does this place have so many good reviews? 1. Was served a glass of wine with someone else’s lipstick caked on it. Fail. 2. You can find better sushi at Publix. Common! The Atlantic Ocean is like right here! I’ve had better sushi in Middle-America! 3. The décor? Lack there of. The ambiance is horrible. 3 White walls with no art! 4. The server was nice. I guess that merits One star. although, that’s kind of like their job? 5. I should bookmark this place as places to avoid. Shame, I’m here often.

As a sushi connoisseur, Edamame is one of my favorite places in town to visit and here’s why: The sushi is high quality and prepared quickly and accurately by authentic rollers! I like that you can order online for a carry-out. The beto lunch boxes are a great deal, and you can usually find a coupon in those PennySaver Coupon books. The only glitch I ever had was placing an order online, and when I arrived to pick it up, they had forgotten to prepare one of the items. However they were soooooo apologetic and offering a snack of edamame while I waited the extra few minutes for it to be prepared and boxed. Now that’s service! Here’s the run down on the rest — Ronin(good fancy rolls & nice décor, but $$$ and slow service), Sapporo(fun sushi boats, but the place is so outdated!), Tarafuka(cheap, but of course lower quality), Takara at Pavillion(worst service in town, will never go back!!), and 27 Fathoms in Pavillion(surprisingly…great sushi!).

Great service. Very friendly team. But the sushi rolls were more expensive, yet smaller then their competitors. i felt like I was getting less for more money. Also, I used the online ordering system and was very disappointed with the amount of time it took from placing the order to the order actually being ready. It was over an hour.

Sushi Bar, traditional dining and hibachi options, we did the sushi bar and have found relatively few purveyors of the raw-fish variety who can do it as well as Edamame. High quality seafood, excellent chef technique and matching presentation. Good, friendly service rounds it all out!

My husband and I had a great lunch here. We got one of the lunch bento boxes. The boxes had the meat or veggies you ordered(mine was veggie tempura, my husband had the sushi, sashimi combo) plus 2 shumai(egg roll type thing), a California roll, rice and miso soup or salad. The tempura I had was crisp and not greasy. My hubby thought the fish was nice. The staff was super friendly and attentive without being annoying. We will be back!
