This place is on the corner of Mason & Lewis. When you enter, you a warmly greeted by a handsome older gentleman who makes humorous, friendly small talk as you place your order at the counter. The kitchen is open and you can see EVERYTHING! There aren’t really any tables to speak off so everyone pretty much gets take out. It’s best to call in your order ahead or you will have to wait. But waiting is not a bad thing. It means your food will be freshly prepared. The customer base is very diverse because I addition to the food, they also sell middle eastern groceries, halal items, and more. I even saw hookah pipes for sale! But the food did not deliver. We had fried shrimp, fried catfish, falafel, fries and salad. The best thing was the salad because the ingredients were fresh. The worst thing was the falafel. It was pretty awful in my opinion. I didn’t enjoy any of the fried foods. I probably wouldn’t return. But hey, that’s just my opinion.

This place is a dive; however, the employees were great and the food rocked. I ordered a fried chicken dinner, and it was huge, served with fries and white bread(a little strange). I’m a sucker for good breading, and it was seasoned perfectly, no need for any sauce. The chicken tenders were extremely juicy inside as well. I also ordered a fried fish filet dinner, and it was decent. It was in a corn-meal batter, which isn’t my favorite, but they also offer fried shrimp and oysters. They also offer Middle Eastern food, with hummus, grape leaves, and tabbouleh packaged to go in addition to kebabs and gyros. There’s a small shop attached, and there’s tons of international goodies: halal meat, rose water, Turkish delights, etc. The seating is bare, and it’s not the best environment, so I recommend to-go, as long as you live close and can speed to your house for tasty fried goodness.
