Hester Park is a little tiny neighborhood park that is right outside of DeLeon Springs. It is definitely a good place to go if you’ve found yourself shut out of the springs on a busy day and need to get out of the hot car. The trouble with this place is that it is little more than a glorified playground, and if you are looking for something to actually do while you wait for the park to clear out, you may be a little disappointed. The Good: Stretch your legs out: On hot summer days, the wait to get into DeLeon Springs can be pretty insufferable, and Hester park is just oh-so convenient when you find yourself waiting outside for an hour or more for the springs to open up. The Bad: Not much for adults: While it is great that the kids have a place to run around, adults will find themselves sitting again. The park itself is quite small, and there’s no real area to walk around. There’s picnic tables to sit at, but this sort of defeats the purpose of getting out of the car… Hester Park is more of a convenience for kids that are impatient waiting for DELeon Springs. Adults… you are pretty much out of luck :-( Overall 4.8/10= Moooooom! I hate waiting in the CAAAARR!
