Very friendly and a nice variety of nuts, grains, coffee and snack mixes! I really love the raw pistachios I bought from here, they were colorful and fresh, unlike pistachios that you find elsewhere.

We visited here as part of a culinary tour hosted by the Arab American National Museum, and its a place we plan to go back to soon! The proprietors, grandsons of the original founder, took time to demonstrate the art of making Turkish coffee with all of us(a group of about 8) and gave a generous sample of their freshly spiced nuts mixes. The nut mixes were head-and-shoulders above what you’d find in grocery stores(or even other specialty stores) around town. The guys here seemed genuinely excited about sharing their knowledge about coffee, spices and nuts with us and to really love what they are doing!

I ordered some spices and a maamool mold from Hashems online website, and I got the items only 2 – 3 days later! Lightening fast delivery, great products, and I will buy again!

Made my annual trip back up to Detroit to visit family, no trip to Michigan would be right if I didn’t stop by Hashem’s to pick up fresh nuts and candies for gifts for people back home in DC. The staff here at Hashem’s is phenomenal, not only do they give great recommendations they really understand what the customer is looking for when it comes to fresh nuts, candies, and spices. We loaded up the bags and brought back so many goodies. Keep up the great work guys and we will be back next year!

Ever since one of my coworkers introduced me to turkish pistachios and lebanese almonds, I have been on the hunt for good quality nuts and I found it here. We were back in town visiting and since I knew there is a big community here, thanks to Unilocal I found Hashems. We were going to AA but made a special trip before the airport to Dearborn. Small store but you can tell everything is so fresh and the guy that was there that day was SUPER nice. He let me try some of the almonds and also gave a recommendation for the turkish coffee. I got turkish pistachios, salted pistachios, and all three kinds of the BBQ, smoked, and salted almonds. Also got some turkish coffee as well. I’m elated this place ships because I will be purchasing from there once my stock runs out. Price is super reasonable too.

this may be a great place to visit, buy you don’t want to mail order anything. Nuts are overseasoned to disguise their ancient taste, even greek olives which should last taste rancid from the oil in which they’re packed. In the end I’ve thrown everything out. A really clever way of dealing with complaints: offer free replacement, and then charge enough for shipping and handling to still make a profit.

Hashems were wonderful to send us a free box of pastries to give it another try. We really appreciate them going above and beyond to try to rectify the situation. The box arrived in a much more professional manner. I still feel like Shatila has better quality pastries and will continue to buy from them, We wish you the best with your business!

I was in a week ago to get some spices to bring back to Florida with me, as I grew up in Dearborn… also, some Turkish coffee and a rakweh. Ahmed was SO charming, talkative and genuine with my traveling needs. I can’t imagine ever shopping anywhere else in Dearborn. Best customer service I’ve witnessed in a long time!!!

Nicest guys ever. They were giving me samples left and right, and encouraging me to try whatever I wanted in the store.(not like I was eating the store, but how often does a store owner encourage you to do that, right?) Great selection of spices, coffee, nuts, Lebanese candies(which I had never had, and they’re amazing) and a slew of other Middle Eastern goodies. I was showing my brother around who is a big foodie but isn’t that familiar with that type of cuisine. They gave him the whole tour. If you go there you will not be disappointed. You can tell they really love what they do.

I’ve visited some coffee shops & this has by far has been the best. I visited on a quest for espresso. As a novice espresso brewer(even though I drink ALOT of espresso) I needed help. I walked in and was lost in the wall of coffee beans that hits you at the front door. As I gazed at the massive amount of fresh coffee beans a person who worked there interjected. He explained the difference in grounds, what espresso really was, and how to get a good cup of espresso. I walked out with a big bag of espresso, a new found knowledge of espresso, cool ranch flavored corn nuts(SOGOOD), and tips for my new Mr. Coffee machine. I must say that my espresso brewing anxiety was lowered after my visit to Hashems Nuts & Coffee! I went home & made a bomb double shot of espresso with just the right crema. Take that big chain coffee chains!

90 reviews. I’m starting to channel Janelle W. While on my epic bike ride of more than 6 miles, I spotted a sign that said cheese and spinach pies for sale. Unfortunatly, they were closed. Oh well. Happily, Hashem’s was open. I walked in and declared OHMYGOD, I’ve died and went to Heaven. I was amazed at the aroma of coffee and spices, and other things for sale. Rice and schwarma seasoning, and so many other items, I nearly passed out from the dizzying array of goodies on display. I began to feel bad that I didnt bring much money because I wanted everything… to go. Then I encountered Sam, the owner. He was genuinely glad to see me and even deposited a small assortment of tasty nuts into my hand. We talked about rice and his scales and how long his family has been in the business. This man was so nice it was like Dale Carnegie himself had come back to life and was running this place. He showed me a rare spice called Mastic, which grows only on a Greek Island and costs a whopping 175 dollars a pound. He told me it was used for everything, and during my brief visit, I knew more than I ever did about spices, and coffee. He even told me about schwarma, and the difference between that and gyros. I left with a feeling that this man was not interested in just making money but in making friends. I am fortunate to live a short bike ride away because I will be a regular. His prices for rice and semolina are bargains, and I will be buying many pounds because I do like making my own pastas. I will remember this place always, because of Sam, and because the shop happens to be on Warren and a street with my last name on it. How cool is that?

It’s rare to find a store owner who comes across as genuinely excited about what s/he’s doing. The brilliant thing about Hashems is that the owner, Sam, very obviously is interested in and cares about the product he sells. Hashems has what counts: Good coffee? Check! Good roasted nuts? Check! Proprietary secret Turkish coffee blend that has been passed through the family for generations? Check! As a bit of a coffee snob, I get pretty picky when I’m talking coffee in a place that sells it. Not so in Hashems. This place is great. They know what they’re doing, and they do it very well. They have a good selection of coffee and, as a hobby coffee roaster, I was happy to see they also had raw columbian coffee for somewhere around 5 bucks a pound, which will save me from buying it for 5 bucks a pound plus shipping from some other place. In addition to selling coffee, they sell roasted nuts that are reasonably priced and also very good(I got some almonds). And I didn’t check out the rest of the store, but it looked like they had general grocery items as well. It almost doesn’t matter. I went there for the coffee. The telling part of my visit, though, was when Sam said, «if you like what you got, you HAVE to come back and try our Turkish Coffee. That’s our bread and butter.» I’ve not had Turkish Coffee before, but I’m intrigued, for sure. Since I’m writing this review while drinking my first cup from the beans I bought yesterday, I think I will be going here often. The bottom line is if you like coffee, you need to at the very least try Hashems. My bet is that once you’ll go, you’ll want to go back, and you’ll want to send your friends there.

I love Hashems. Anytime I want to get a Coffee Lover some of the best I go there. The owner is super friendly and is willing to help you find the perfect blend. I was debating whether to get some of the flavored coffees and he gave me some samples to take home! I first came across Hashems during a book event at the Arab American National Museum. They served Turkish Coffee that was so good! I always recommend Hashems for anyone asking me about where to buy Coffee, Nuts or Spices.

Delicious and inexpensive roasted nuts. I stopped in to get a blend of unsalted nuts, and left with a custom blend that is delicious. In addition, I also left with some of the most delicious turkish style pistachios I have ever tasted. I will be back to buy some of their coffee soon. The owner was very helpful and friendly. Give this place a try if you like nuts!
