Horrible food and horrible service. The sushi didn’t taste fresh at all and the crab salad was beyond disappointing. It consisted of cucumber topped with dry imitation crab no dressing. So when I called the waiter she said I can’t take it back cause you ate half of it!!! I didn’t even touch it. Never coming back again

Over the years I’ve noticed one thing here… lack of consistency, especially with service. This is based on the old location as well. I’ve had some of the worst service I’ve ever had in my life here but I’ve also had pretty good too. It’s always something in the back of my mind when I come here like hmm is it going to be good or bad today. That thought itself has stopped be from coming a handful of times especially when I’m on a time schedule so you may want to think about that before you come here. Now the actual sushi is pretty good here but I’m one of those who sticks to what they like. Normally I get the Vegas roll which is amazing. Sometimes it’s spicier than others depending on if they put seeds from the jalapeños. Double climax roll is another favorite. Never thought I would like a sushi roll with cream cheese. I love avocado but I tell them to do that roll without because the cream cheese already has that creamy texture so no need for the avocado. I love cucumbers but I hate it in any sushi because of the flavor. Idk what it is but the cucumbers have a weird aftertaste once combined with whatever they use but hey that’s just my opinion. Edamame is good so are the shrimp spring rolls. My best friends love the Sunday morning roll and they have pretty good meso soup. They say they have halal meat but I only ever order seafood. The 3 star rating is because of the lack of consistency. Service is just as important as food quality to me. All they need is a few stable workers who actually want to work there and they’ll be good. I’ll still be back just because they do have decent sushi and it’s convenient location for me. I just won’t be coming here when I’m on quick break.

Okay. I ate sushi. Raw fish. There I did it. So all you corporate sales snobs bite me. I’m part of the club now. The club that sighs in delight over the mere mention of sushi. And fine. It was fricking awesome. My date was a former sushi restaurant waitress, knew all the lingo. Knew how things should be prepared, taste, presented, whatever. I’ll yield to her on the particulars on just how good this restaurant is in comparison to others. For me, it was fantastic. Thanks for helping me break the cherry in the culinary delight!

Quality was very poor, when food arrived our son found a hair in his food, the server wanted to argue instead of just taking care of the problem. We believe it was her hair since the cooks were all wearing hats The manager was very inexperienced on how to properly handle the situation. Will never go back

It’s pretty good sushi and not overly expensive. Sometimes they go overboard making your sushi roll taste way too sweet with all the sauces. Just remember if you battery and deep fry aka flash fry anything it’ll be great. Then add sauces and it’d that much better. Doesn’t really reflect on the quality though. It is worth a try though.

I’m confused as to why xushi co has a higher rating. Quality of sushi is phenomenal. You can only find better sushi in Novi or Royal Oak and the prices will definitely increase the more North you travel. For being technically downriver, this is the best sushi. I lived in Hawaii for two decades so trust me when I say Kabuki has fresh fish. I’ve traveled from California to Washington and even Boston. I think I’m a good judge of sushi. Kabuki does a good job. Service can be slow if they’re busy. Service must split tips because you’ll have multiple people attending to you. They might not like pooling tips but as a customer I can say that I enjoy the adamant care. I think they need to hire more people. There are many tables and the service looks stretched thin sometimes but overall I think they pull it off. Cost is very affordable! Keep up the good work!

I don’t eat sushi, so I ordered a steak and chicken entrée. Big mistake. Chicken was undercooked, I tried to find my server, to return my meal and she was no where to be found. Being hungry, I ate whatever was around the chicken. Finally able to flag down a server, who wasn’t our server btw, I told them about the inedible chicken. All they could do was give me free dessert, not even offer to make me some fresh cooked chicken, but instead to take the chicken off my plate and recook it. Those were my options. They’ll recook my cold half bitten into chicken or give me dessert. I’m not kidding. As I’m walking out, the manager stopped me to apologize about the undercooked chicken stating that, «the cook misunderstood the ticket and he thought you wanted all the meat on your plate medium well.» Are you kidding? Does salmonella poisoning mean anything to this place? What a joke. Never again.

We took our daughter here for her 17th bday dinner. The sushi was good and fresh. The presentation was pretty. My favorite was the mushroom sushi, it had great flavor. The service was average. The food came promptly, and the server had a decent attitude. My daughter was brought a complementary dessert, which was nice. Overall, it was a good experience and I would go back again.

I used to frequent this sushi place all the time. It was my go to sushi spot. I visited this establishment one day for a quick sushi snack. I was there before several people. However my order was out last. In fact people next to us(party of 5) came in after us, ordered and ate and then left before we even got our order. I didn’t mind too much just because I enjoy the atmosphere. I didn’t start getting upset until our own waitress began to ignore my table. Even after she saw our water was empty and I was trying to get her attention. BUT all this could have been ignored just because we are all human and we all have bad days. I received my sushi and ate it. My wife notices our cooked sushi smelled a little fishy… We stopped eating, paid then left. 3am that same day/next morning we, let me just say, let the vomit games begin. Yes the dreadful food poisoning. I don’t want to gross you out or prolong this review. Conclusion is that the health department was contacted and advised me that they’ve got many phone calls about this establishment. How is this place still open???

People really need to chill out and enjoy the food. After my first visit I am more than please. Very good food and friendly service. Even accommodated a request not on the menu with a smile. I have never been to a sushi restaurant with hopping service. But if you come for good food and time with friends you will leave happy.

Terrible service. I won’t ever come here again. The restaurant had plenty of seating, and I was asked to move closer to the TV(there was a game I wanted to watch), and the employee told me «I recommend you don’t.» Not wanting to cause trouble, I didn’t move. But service was very slow(keep in mind it was a slow night), and the sushi was terrible! Kroger’s sushi was better than this. Look for sushi elsewhere.

The food is good but that’s about it. The service is a drive-by and no smile. I don’t know if I’ve ever been asked if I wanted anything other than the water. Because the service is so lazy I always feel like I’m waiting when I should just be content. I know there were a lot of complaints about the old building, but honestly… I missed it and the servers that didn’t make the move.

This is one of the worst sushi restaurants I’ve ever been to. For starters, the seats were very uncomfortable(the arm rests dig into the sides of your hips and buttocks), and the dim lighting made it difficult for the older family member that was with me to see the menu(it was roughly 2PM when we dined in, which seems to be a very odd time for dimmed lighting in the first place). Most of the items on the menu were a tad pricey, especially the appetizers. The waiter was courteous, but forgot to bring us the hot green tea we ordered. Although we were disappointed that we didn’t get to try it, we weren’t charged for it. I ordered the shrimp tempura lunch boat, and it was awful. The tempura batter was very soggy and greasy and the shrimp was extremely pungent(sickeningly so; I dare say if it wasn’t already past the expiration date, it was going bad). The dressing on the small salad that came with each lunch boat tasted like an orange scented cleaning product, and that really disappointed my family member, who was excited about the description of it. Furthermore, the sushi rolls and appetizers that came with it were almost flavorless, and the wasabi sauce was so mild that the pickled ginger was spicier. The waiter was upset that I had barely touched my food, and that my family member had a lackluster opinion about her dish(although she found hers far more palatable than I found mine, and did eat about half of it; she ordered the beef bulgogi lunch boat), but didn’t offer to remove the charge [for mine]. I’ve had better sushi from grocery stores to be honest.

Great place for sushi whether it’s your first time or want diff options for sushi than where you may usually go. I have been going here since they open down the street originally and now that they moved across from Crave($$$$) it’s even BETTER in price, seating options, now they have a bar and habatchi and parking is WAY more convenient plus FINALLY Dearborn has free parking now. Benihana has nothing on this place, except more expensive and less amount of habatchi food. Give them a try!

I’ve never been to a restaurant with worse service. Blond female was supposed to be our waitress but ofcourse, we had another guy waiting on us. He actually knew what he was doing since the woman only brought our food and walked by 5 times without asking if we need anything. The food was great as always but honestly, how could you be a waitress with no interest in the customers?

Visited this place today for lunch. The sushi was really good. They have this special roll with spicy scallop on top that was out of this world. And the staff was amazing, very nice environment and family oriented.

I absolutely adored kabuki before it transferred to the new location, which is only a block difference. The food is really good, however the wait staff aren’t. I understand that it can become hectic when the place is jam packed or when there are many new waiters and waitresses. But when there are staff members who are just standing around, getting a glass of water and menus should not take 15 minutes. Unfortunately, the wait staff makes quite a few mistakes. The only reason I’ve put up with it is because the food has been good and prices always reasonable. Unfortunately I will never return to Kabuki because of a recent experience that was pretty much the last straw for me. We requested a specific table and were told that it would be open and given to us once to wiped down, which we happily waited for because it’s further away from the crowd. After 25 minutes of waiting, a gentleman(a young man I haven’t seen before until recently) took names down because a line had formed after myself and a friend. We were put down first, however even after explaining why we waited quite a while, he gave the table to a person that was at the end of the line. And when I pointed it out to him, his response was«oh». That’s not an «oh». That was pure ignorance. We walked right out. I don’t ever plan to come back, and this used to be my go to place every Saturday. Ross has always been a wonderful waiter, you should start looking for people like him.

While I do like the new location, I was disappointed that some things I enjoy have been removed from the menu. It was good. I enjoyed the seaweed salad, black mushroom roll and tempura shrimp roll. Nothing over the top great, nothing bad. It’s close to home so I am certain we will return

This review is in regards to the new location in Dearborn. The sushi was delicious, very fresh, and reasonably priced. The service was down right terrible. My party of 6 had a reservation, which was made online. When the party arrived the hostess stated«they don’t take reservations.» Luckily there was an open table. We sat there for about 30 minutes before someone even brought water, and the place was pretty empty. We had to flag someone down and ask if they could be our waiter for the evening. I probably won’t return.

So it was my turn to be bossed around, and my friends ordered for me. I didn’t even know what I was getting. I like to know my ingredients and what it is I’m ingesting. I wasn’t disappointed, I just didn’t know what they were to explain them to you. Just pictures lol. They were tasty, some a little spicy but was so smooth. The new kabuki is huge! Kinda to big. Felt bad because it was so slow. Servers were very pleasant.
