1st timer here. I ordered online. Picked a pizza and baklava. The crust is different than what you’d get in an Italian pizzeria but good. The ingredients were good and the pizza was tasty. The baklava was really good. The staff as was friendly. Overall I liked it and will be back.

I enjoy their pizza. That’s the only I order for myself there. Yummy delicious 10 inch cheese pizza. Occasionally with black olives. I always order on Unilocal and never seem to sure about the pick up process, but the staff is so welcoming there’s never a hitch.

I order off door dash And they got the wrong address. My neighbor got the same thing and it has something going on with the doordash service. So food was cold. The pizza was horrible but the calamari was good. Really wish the pizza would have been good. The ground beef was absolutely dreadful. Didn’t even want to give it to my dog. Pizza went straight in the trash besides the pepperoni.

Organized place! The food is great. Pizza was delicious and definitely will be back for the Gyros again. This pregnant lady will be back again and again. My only complaint is the employees at the checkout didn’t really speak to me just like the other customers just took their money and spoke in a foreign language to each other behind the counter.

Great pizza, friendly staff and the lasagna was probably one of the best I have ever had. The spaghetti meat sauce wasn’t our favorite, but we will definitely be back!

We’re fans of their Greek salad. So much so my kids often ask to go to Athens just for the salad! We also enjoy the gyro platter, Greek potatoes, Mama’s chicken lemon soup & their awesome desserts!

This place is legit. It’s always busy and I now know why. The food quality is solid. I did not understand how Greek food and Italian food went side by side. However, all of the food meshed well. We were greeted at the door and walked to the back to place a to-go order. The restaurant was pretty busy and the phone was ringing a lot. There was a large table being set up in the back and a older woman watching it be setup. It seemed like everyone knew her there and provided her with top notch attention. She was speaking Greek to one of the Managers working.(I later realized that she is one of the owners… I think!) Food: My husband had the lamb shank, Greek potatoes, and salad. It was HUGE! He said that it was very flavorful. I had an Eggplant Parm sub with fries. The sub was HUGE! It has green bell peppers on it, which I was not expecting, but it was a a nice touch. My kids had chicken tenders and a personal pizza. Both looked good and they enjoyed.

In my restaurant reviews I evaluate factors other than food taste as it impacts my visit. Server attention, visits to the table during the meal, and atmosphere. Stuff like that… This was my second visit here. The server took too long to show up at the table, and way too long to even bring water. The couple sitting next to us –who arrived after my party– had ordered and were working on their salads before we had water on the table. The server was distracted while taking our orders and got my order wrong. I was up charged 95 cents without being told. When I mentioned this to the cashier while paying, the cashier actually held up a busy line(dinnertime on a Saturday night), grabbed a menu, and starting debating with me why I was charged 95 cents. Bad customer service in light of a $ 35 food bill. This is a great way to alienate a customer. The 95 cents eventually came off the bill but we left in mild frustration. The food ordered: chicken skewer platter and Greek salad with gyro meat, was better than average compared to similar meals at other Greek-style restaurants. I consider food taste and presentation at least half of a rating. The other factors mentioned impact the remainder. Food was 4 stars but service and other factors were barely 2 stars. Adding a factor of generosity, my rating is 3 stars – but barely.

My favorite pizza in all of Atlanta. Killer crust and not too saucy or cheesy with always fresh toppings. Worth the trip from anywhere for great Greek/Mediterranean food. I have never had a bad experience. Daily specials, my favorite the braised lamb shanks on Thursday, do not disappoint. Large open spaces and outdoor seating. Big room for groups. Beer and wine. Dessert portions can feed a small country. The family has been in this same location for decades. We LOVE it!

This is absolute favorite pizza place. If you like feta you will love it on their pizza. I’m am told by the owner that it is so good cause they make their dough fresh every morning. It’s more than fresh dough, it’s the oils or something but I don’t think it’s as simple as fresh dough. I love that the owner is always there too. If you ever have an issue with anything you don’t go talk to an employee that talks to the manager that then relays your concern on down the line. None of that. I have only has one problem really in all of the yard I have visited Athens Pizza and that is the Greek salad which by the way is awesome. I have on two occasions notice that the oil and vinegar was not shaken before it was put on the salad cause I could slightly tell that there was any vinegar on the salad. Love this place.

Came for a quick lunch. The place is buzzing, quite a few of the 60 plus demo. We ordered two specials. He got a salad and veggie wrap. I ordered a Greek salad and chicken lemon soup. Veggie wrap primarily wrap. Veggies were sparse. Tossed salad looked much like the Greek with the exception of two olives and a dollop of feta cheese on my Greek. Cheese wasn’t fresh and resembled more a creamed mixture. Rice was the primary ingredient in the soup, and the starch the stand out taste. There was a hint of lemon, and I wish it had more. Also hoped for more than the 3 pieces of chicken present in the bowl. Not a place we’d rush back to.

I have been wanting to try out Athens for years. Finally made it happen when I was meeting a friend for lunch. It was the perfect in-between spot for the two of us. I was welcomed immediately upon my arrival. And they seated me even thought I was still waiting for my friend. Thanks! This place is huge; you could have a big group meeting here. Overall, I found our service to be really great. The food was OK. I had a chicken pita and greek salad. The salad was large and tasted pretty good. The chicken pita was fine, but it just didn’t wow me. I ordered baklava to go. It was of good size, but I wasn’t a big fan. C’est la vie. They have lunch and dinner specials — check them out.

Read some good reviews here, been craving a gyro, so it made sense to check out. In short, Athens is great. Friendly staff, reasonable prices, pretty roomy dining area(at least I think so), and the best part –the food! Comes out fast, and man is it good. I tried the gyro wrap with potatoes, simply a great lunch. Will be back.

Yall know I’m a pizza fanatic! I’ve passed this place countless times to meet clients & I finally decided to stop in. Very mom & pop like restaurant. Very chill & relaxed. Staff was warm & welcoming. They had a case of nothing but sweets! But I resisted temptation(I may not next time). I ordered a small spinach pizza. It was delightful! Very light crust. Mozzarella was fresh & it blended perfectly with the spinach! This is a must stop when in Decatur!

After reading the reviews decided to give it a try. It’s a large restaurant with Greek décor, the décor was over the top. Waited a few minutes to seated and had a booth. The waitress took about ten minutes before our order was taken. We got a small pizza, souvlaki and spanakopita. The souvlaki came with lettuce which is not the Greek way of serving it. It was ok ok and tasty. Pizza was average, but spanakopita was good. The best part was the cold beer. Service was to slow for lunch time, the décor needs to be toned down and clean the place our booth was torn and dirty. Will not go back.

My friends made me try this place and I’m so glad. Really authentic Greek food! And they have a coupon online. Make sure you print it first though. Very homey and quaint. I’m not the biggest fan of Greek food, but I’d come again.

Solid greek food. Came in hungover and miserable and left full and happy. The highlight of my brunch were the stuffed grape leaves.

Athens Pizza House is located on the Northern side of Decatur near Emory but before you get to North Druid Hills heading north. It’s in a shopping center across from Publix — there are other good restaurants in the area like Community BBQ and Bojanic. I’ve mentioned this previously, but we’ve been going to Athen’s Pizza off and on for 20 years or so — we love the consistency of the pizza and have a special fondness for both the Vegetarian and Santorini pies. Most recently we split a small Greek salad and went for ½ Athens Special and ½ Santorini. The Santorini has very strong flavors(a bit salty so keep that in mind) so mixing in the veggie moderates the overall experience. We also like to do half-Veggie special and half-Santorini. If you’re in a group it’s actually a bit cheaper to get separate pies rather than splits as recently they’ve changed their pricing(splits start with a cheese the up charge for the two halves. They used to just charge for the more expensive pie — the change in pricing adds a couple of bucks). Over the years their salads have improved over the prior iceberg lettuce offering — they now mix in some Romain. The salad flavors are typical of Greek pizza joints — very classic oil and vinegar with feta, red onion, ripe tomatoes and Greek olives. This is one of those foods if done right bring back the serendipity of first having such as a kid. Athens certainly brings back the nostalgia. Athens has also replied to changes in what people like in beer, offering Sweetwater 420 on draft which I don’t mind at all. If you have room, Athens also offers slices of those gigantic cakes you see in Greek diners — there are also occasionally specialty desserts like chocolate rats(you have to see these to understand) and their baklava is well made, with real honey instead of that sickly sweet corn-syrup stuff you find elsewhere. The last time I reviewed, I would have given them 4 stars — call this a 3.5. I’m happy to say that the last two times we went to Athens, the experience was much better, as they seem to have their act more together. The new pricing for the half-half pies is a bit disturbing but I can live with the extra bucks. (longer review on my food blog)

So it seems that here in ATL, everyone is all about the napoletana-style pizza. Sure, Antico and the others are good. In my world of pizza dreams, I want Greek Pizza… I want pastrami pizza! I made it my mission when I moved here to find amazing Greek Pizza – MISSIONACCOMPLISHED! I can’t stop thinking about this pizza! I am so ready to go again. I definitely love to start out with a Greek Salad… the medium Greek salad is a great split for 2 pre-pizza. It is a simple salad wrought with pleasure. The only way it could have given me more pleasure is if it came with more than just 3 calamata olives – the best part and there were only 3! Once that piping hot pie of sexiness hit the table, I was in love. The way I do my pizza… pastrami, tomato & extra sauce. For those of you that are skeptical, pastrami is the perfect topping! Just try it! They are probably the only pizza joint around here that offer it as a topping but not unusual in the Greek Pizza world. My server tried to steer me away from ordering extra sauce because they like to warn folks that it might make the crust soggy – useless warning – the extra sauce had my toes curling in saucy joy! Athens Pizza opened in Decatur back in 1977 by the Papadopoulos family. Don’t you just love family run restaurants that have been around forever? It’s like they grow up with you! Just FYI, they offer a coupon on the website for 10% off that you can print.
