I highly recommend the lemon basil pop. Very refreshing. Great for hot summer weather,

NOW, this is what I call an ICECREAM shoppe! HEEHEE I was in Georgia for a friend’s wedding. We went here mid-week about 9PM to meet a bunch of college girls to instruct them on how to help out at the wedding, the following Saturday. Anyway, in the end we didn’t even do that much around wedding logistics(for me at least: P) I was so shocked at how yummy the ice cream was! I had in a waffle cone, a one scooper with 2 flavors. The 2 flavors were… *drumroll please* REDVELVET and CARROTCAKE!!! OMG!!! sooooo good, I can still taste it even now!!! :) :) It was chunky, but not hard on the teeth, just heavenly. I heard what they do is bake actual red velvet cakes and mash it up in a sweet cream ice cream, same for carrot cake. There were MANY other deLICious flavors, all very unique and rich in flavor. However, I was so blown away by the 2 I had, I don’t remember much of the other ones. Needless to say, it’s probably a GOOD thing Jake’s is all the way in the South and I am in Cali: D The place itself is very mom and pop, and there are comfy couches and coffee tables, it just looks like someones living room. Anyhow, I was very impressed and just loved this place!

I have never had a flavor here I didn’t like. My favorite is key lime pie, but really, everything is amazing. I had not been to this location before so it was nice to see a comfy seating area with some couches where we could just hang out and enjoy our ice cream. The only negative is that my friend asked if they made their waffle cones and they said no, that they ordered them form somewhere. Opt for a different cone or a cup because the waffle cones were not great(because they weren’t fresh).

I love this place. The manager there is awesome! They greet you when you walk in. They are always trying something new and tasty to give samples too. Last time I went in they were giving out samples of something they created that involved waffles and icecream and other stuff. It was freaking awesome. The inside is comfy. I love slap yo mama and the hazelnut icecream. Their sandwiches are tasty too. I always enjoy stopping here in the evenings. I wish they stayed open later then they do.

I’ve been missing Jake’s since all the ones that I used to frequent have closed up shop. So I was thrilled to walk from lunch at the Grove over to this location for some Chocolate Slap Yo Mama. There was a child’s birthday party inside, which would normally make me turn around and leave immediately, since I just can’t handle the noise. But Jake’s ice cream is so worth it. Consequently, the only employee in the place was a little bit frazzled, but still took care of us promptly, and with a smile. I ended up with a scoop of Keny’AA and a scoop of cinnamon instead of the Chocolate Slap Yo Mama. Should have done the Keny’AA with the CSYM, since the cinnamon was somewhat chunky, as if there’d been some freezing issues. The Keny’AA was the perfect coffee buzz that I needed. The two scoops were gone lickety-split!
