They have delicious samosas. They’re definitely spicy, but when they come out fresh… OMGeezers! I don’t have much of a sweet tooth, so I actually haven’t tried their sweets yet. The woman at the front is also very nice in answering questions.

Royally bad a**. I wandered into Royal Sweets after dining next door at Tava, and I couldn’t believe what I saw: a stacked Indian bakery with a visually mesmerizing interior. Here’s my take: ***** I. FOOD&DRINK They have several different kinds of entrees and drinks, but I just feasted on a couple plastic containers-worth of sweets. One container had various types of barfis(sugar, milk, flour, coconut, fruit, nuts) and the other consisted of various iterations of small syrup-soaked bread bites. All were very tasty. All gave me plenty of carbs. All made my belly larger. II. SERVICE I asked a lot of questions, and they were super nice. III. ATMOSPHERE&DÉCOR There’s a small, colorful food truck inside the store, and a large, beautiful painted mural resides on the right wall. Pretty awesome. There are plenty of tables, for small groups. IV. PRICES I can’t really recall how much the noms set me back, but I don’t think it was much. I don’t think the desserts had clearly labeled prices. V. OVERALL Pretty amazing Indian dessert shop that anyone should drop by while in Decatur!

I went there after reading a Unilocal review about how good the ice cream is. My opinion, it was the worst ice cream I ever had. No texture or creaminess even taste was nothing but way too sweet. Frankly they don’t know how to make ice cream. The kulfis were no better with too much sugary flavor. For great ice cream I will go back to Butter & Cream or Jeni’s ice cream in downtown Decatur. Ice cream making is an art that consist of getting the base to the right texture but this place has no clue on this. Finally I bought one of the packaged nasta which was also stale in taste. The only saving grace is the service. The young girls working there wished & thanked you. This kind of service is not even part of the equation at the other 3 similar stores in Patel Plaza(Chatpatti & Chowpaati or Gokul).

Customer service here is exceptionally good. They greet once you stroll through the door and immediately want to take care of all your needs. The selection of goodies are always amazing and one thing that they carry which most of the other Indian restaurants don’t carry is DABELI. I can definitely say that have one of the best if not the best dabeli’s in town. I also think of the the best things about Royal sweets is how clean they keep it unlike some other local shops(which I won’t throw shade on), but they really take pride in maintaining a polished restaurant. They also pay attention to detail so once you walk in you will realize its not like any other shop around I don’t want to spoil it but you will see once you get there. Finally my favorite thing they carry is the ice which is made in house. The Flavors are exactly what they are striving for Flaooda, Paan, Chai, and Kulfi. All of them are amazing; however, some might require you have an acquired taste to them so you’ve been warned. I’ve been going here for about a year now and can’t seem to get enough. Keep it up guys.

So my wife and I always stop by for the assorted mix of chaats — so I will only speak to those items. They are awesome — every single one. The customer service is wonderful!

We are regulars at royal sweets. They serve traditional Indian chaat(street food). I like their consistency of taste and quality. The staff are quite friendly and service is quite good. Do check this place out for an authentic taste of Indian chaat and sweets.

My wife and i frequent to this place quite often, they have wonderful samosas and jalebi. In this crowded market of indian food places in patel plaza, Royal sweets stands tall. Usually there is wait, but it is worth the wait for food.

The ice cream here is so delicious that it blast Busters Ice cream and all other ice cream parlor out of the water. I had chikoo ice cream and saffron ice cream. It was perfectly balance between sweet and cream. Come try it. I highly recommend it.

Randomly came across this place and so glad I did! They make homemade ice cream! They have cool unique flavors like gulab jaman flavored ice cream. I had the falooda ice cream and it was seriously delish, way better than kulfi which I don’t really like. This was really creamy and tasted fresh. They had just made it when we walked in. The people who work here are really nice and it’s a clean place with some nice décor.

So this place moved and I finally got to check them out. I wrote a review for the original location almost two years ago( ) and I feel that the business has kept up the quality while giving patrons a comfy spot to enjoy whatever treats they get. Seriously, what a difference from the other location, which was more of a pick-up kinda joint. This place has tables and benches and interesting wall art for you to eat your savory pastries and delicious sweets. Having been craving deliciousness from Royal Sweets for a while, I dragged AT with me and after I ordered a bunch of burfi and some rasmalai to chomp on in-house before leaving. Well, he had a trick up his sleeve and right as I was about to pay, he cleared his throat and started pointing at a bunch of savory pastries in the warm case. The girl who was helping me ran down to grab what he asked for and she packed them to-go. As we got rang up, I couldn’t help but wander over to the ice cream case. Holy crap. I had never tried the kulfi at the other place but as I looked over the available flavors, I promised myself(and AT) that I would surely come back to try some out, especially the saffron pistachio kind. There was also a plain pistachio one, as well as a rose-flavored ice cream(which I bet AT would love and was secretly thinking about trying himself, which is why he didn’t protest when I said I wanted to come back). We ate the rasmalai before leaving and I was immensely pleased and surprised to see saffron threads floating about. I’m not sure if I have never had this milky goodness with saffron but it was amazing. Maybe the best one I have ever had. The chicken and potato pastries weren’t consumed a day or two later, but even after being refrigerated and reheated(in the oven though, rather than the microwave), they were very tasty. Great to grab on the go to get in some food in your belly, if you’re in the area. They are very flaky, so don’t blame me if your car seat is full of the pastry after you have finished eating it. Come here and experience the awesomeness. That’s all.

The best chaat place in Patel Plaza. Hands down. There are quite a few in this plaza, but none is as clean, with friendlier of service, and fairer price points. I’m a chaat connoisseur, and these folks know how to do it right. The samosas are large and cost $ 2.49 for 2! You can get a fulfilling meal for under $ 15 with an awesome lassi. For once, non desi folks can come in and count on staff who are happy to explain the different types of sweets and chaats, how they are made, what they are, etc. Unlike the other ones here, you don’t feel conscious about asking questions. Overall, from a service, price, cleanliness, and quality perspective this places gets 5 stars. I usually never give out 5s, but thus place deserves it.

I used to go to this indian sweets store at its former location. I just visited the store today for the first time and I was impressed. Clean and more spacious the the original. The selection of sweets were all fresh. Orange julabi takes me back to my childhood and I was instantly teleported to this moment of my life and I couldn’t help but smile. I tried the yellow ludoos and barfi– all very fresh and delicious. The cashew based sweets were also very good and I found myself savoring each and every bite. Interestingly, they also had a selection of snack foods known as «chat» at a reasonable price. Some tried and true favorites but I went for the pani puri. These puffed rice balls with spiced water inside exploded with flavor on my mouth and was delicious! I would highly recommend this place and I will be back often.

Stopped in for tea while I was waiting for my take out order at Zyka to be ready. I was pleasantly surprised by the new little spot. They have awesome décor(a large Indian truck is literally parked INSIDE). The service is friendly and not rude like some Indian fast food spots can be. I bought some banana chips to try and let’s just say finished the entire bag in a week. I can’t wait to return and try the snacks!

Avoid this place if possible. I’m from Dallas, where our Royal Sweets is much bigger and has a huge variety of sweets, savories, and snacks, as well as at least 4 staff at the counter. This location only has pre-packaged sweets and savories, which are pretty expensive considering you don’t get to customize your box of sweets. There is also only one person at the counter and one cook. I ordered the chole bhature to eat on site, which was the worst mistake ever. I will compliment the restaurant for bringing both items out hot. That’s the only upside about the dish. The bhature was actually a couple of very greasy puris… not at all what bhature should be. The chole were barely seasoned, canned chickpeas. I was sick for two days after eating the chole… not the best experience when you’re on a business trip. If you ask for a glass of water, you will be handed a small styrofoam cup and directed to the water fountain on the wall. The service was also terrible. First of all, they don’t take American Express and neither does any other Indian shop in the entire shopping strip. I did not see the cashier again once she rang up my order. Other customers came in and she was still laughing with the cook in the kitchen, oblivious that someone else was waiting to be served. There are a lot of other great Indian places in Atlanta to catch a quick bite… go there instead.

Adorable atmosphere with a wall mural of an Indian street scene. Their savory puffs were very good, but the Rasmalai was simply bad. They have good sweets, but I prefer Gokul overall for snacks and sweets.
