One of my most favorite places!!! The staff is always efficient, even when it’s just one person. Not to mention they are super friendly! It’s a great location with convenient parking. I love it!

We had a 50% off Scoutmob deal up to $ 7. Certain companies’ employees and Emory students get $ 1 off. Parking: Located in the North Dekalb plaza. Sometimes parking can be pretty hard to find depending on the day of the week and time of day since there aren’t a lot of spaces in the lot. Service: The servers were friendly enough, though not too much to rave about. Food: There are different types of schnitzels meals that they prepare based on different origins around the world(i.e. Chinese, Italian, German, French, Mexican, Cajun, etc.). I didn’t think that the only difference between these different dishes would just be the sauces that come with either your sandwich, platter, or salad. –Italian Schnitzel Salad: My salad came with greens and the schnitzel chopped up on top with a balsamic vinaigrette and another sauce meant to illustrate Italian cuisine. I don’t quite understand why the only difference between my Italian Schnitzel salad and another type of salad is just that the sauces are different. It really just felt like I was eating a salad with fried chicken on top. Nothing special, especially for over $ 8. –Mexican Schnitzel Platter: The platter comes with your schnitzel and your choice of two sides(we got a side salad and fries). This is the most expensive out of the sandwich, platter, salad choice(almost $ 9). The schnitzel is thin and you dip it in one of three dipping sauces for the Mexican platter(one is balsamic vinaigrette for the side salad). The fries were hot and not bad at all. Overall, really nothing to rave about. I think there can be more variety in terms of different kinds of cuisines. Maybe the sandwich is the way to go and we completely missed out by getting the platter and salad.

Here for lunch on a Saturday. Walked in at 1:15. They were out of French fries and white bread. THEN after we paid and sat down to wait we were also told they were out of wheat bread too. I understand things happen but don’t let me pay for stuff and THEN tell me you’re out. The staff was friendly though and they offered us a discount and the food good. I was annoyed that I couldn’t get exactly what I wanted tho.

The customer service was exceptional. We enjoyed our dinner last night at Seven Hens. The restaurant was clean and presentation was spot on. We had the Mexican and Indian Schnitzel were great. Quick, great customer service, good food.

Very very good. Quick, cheap and yummy. Lots of food too. It was basically a one man show at the Decatur location, and I was super impressed by the quality of food he delivered in the hectic environment. You had to wait a minute for your food but it was because it was clear it was he and only he that was making it, right there behind the bar. Props to him. I’ll be going back.

My absolute favorite near-campus stop from Emory. Great manager who always is upbeat and friendly, and extremely filling chicken creations that are always tasty and provide for much variety!

I stopped by to grab a quick lunch since I had heard that this place was good — plus, who doesn’t love schnitzel? I was greeted by a boisterous cashier and looked over the relatively simple menu before deciding on the Mexican schnitzel platter with sweet potato fries & a side salad. I really enjoyed the schnitzel on its own but the cilantro mojo just wasn’t doing it for me. Also, I think I would have preferred thicker cut sweet potato fries but that may just be a matter of preference. I’m excited to come back and try the other countries since I didn’t really like the Mexican flavor profile. The prices are also decent for what you get!

Killer schnitzels! I love going with the basic one, no additional favors, but they’re all good. Just, please bring back the red cabbage coleslaw! For the veggie, the tofu schnitzel is also great!

The bf took me here since he had a coupon. The employees were nice and friendly. The sandwiches were good, but it was a bit dry imo. There is nothing really too special about it except the advertised organic chicken used. I suppose you can make your own sandwich too since the ingredients are laid out and everything is made fresh to order. You can also make your sandwich into a salad version too if you want to avoid too much carb. And there is a seasonal menu as well with more choices. The chicken parmesan from this menu was lacking in flavor as the Marianna sauce was slapped on very little. The Mexican on the regular menu was the better of the two choices since the sauce had a little kick to it. This was less dry compared to the chicken parmesan, but still dry nonetheless. Emory students and some others get a discount. See my pic for more info.

If you know me, you’ll know that donkatsu(Japanese-style pork cutlet) is one of my all-time favorite foods. However, I hadn’t ever tried a schnitzel until just this year. When I heard about Seven Hens and their chicken schnitzel(German-style chicken cutlet) sandwiches, I was intrigued. So when I saw that Groupon was offering a deal for two sandwich combos(with drinks and fries) for $ 15, I quickly purchased it. Fast forward to my first visit… It was a Saturday night, less than a week before the Groupon was going to expire.(Yeah, I know — so last minute!) However, it wasn’t until the hubs and I had ordered and tried to pay with the Groupon — which was refused — that we realized the fine print stated we could only use it from Monday through Friday. I was annoyed at myself for NOT reading the fine print(which I usually do!) and was about to pay full-price. Luckily, our cashier was kind enough to give us a 10% discount. Sweet! The hubs and I ordered one Cajun BBQ(«American») schnitzel sandwich and one Curry Cucumber(«Indian») schnitzel wrap, and we both ate half of each. We were each provided a tiny sample cup of house sauce to dip our fries in. I’m a huge fan of sauces to dip fries in, and the hubs and I both loved the house sauce! | Cajun BBQ«American» | I’m a big fan of BBQ sauce, so it didn’t take me very long to decide on ordering the«American» schnitzel on a baguette. Per their menu description, the sandwich is made of a chicken schnitzel* topped with tomatoes and«Classic sweet and tangy BBQ sauce, southern-style coleslaw with medium heat Cajun seasoning.» The flavors were spot on and the coleslaw was a tasty topping. I don’t even normally like coleslaw! All in all, I loved every bite! | Curry Cucumber«Indian» | The hubs ordered the«Indian» in a wrap which contained a chicken schnitzel* with tomatoes and«Crisp cucumber salad, curried yogurt dressing with a flavorful Garam Masala seasoning.» The Garam Masala spices were flavorful and we could really taste the«Indian» influence, but the chicken was saltier than we would have preferred. We still enjoyed it, though! * Note: You can also have your schnitzel grilled or exchanged for fresh grilled tofu instead for no extra charge. Since we still needed to use the Groupon I had purchased, we returned for our second visit a few days later. This time, we ordered the«American» schnitzel sandwich and the Ginger Teriyaki(«Chinese») schnitzel wrap. When we received our sandwiches and tasted the«Chinese» schnitzel wrap for the first time, I realized that it tasted exactly like the Indian — with the strong flavor of the Garam Masala spices. I was absolutely certain it was not the«Chinese» schnitzel since it did not contain any traces of the«gingery Chinese mayo and sweet teriyaki glaze with Chinese 10 spice.» However, the manager(who made the wrap himself) insisted it was the«Chinese» and definitely not the«Indian.» After a brief exchange with the manager, the hubs decided we should just eat it and not make a big deal about it. Both visits, the chicken schnitzels in our sandwiches and wraps were perfectly cooked — juicy and just the right thickness. We were really impressed by the consistency of the cook both times — even though different employees cooked them. However, the following things irked us: 1) Their sign outside was not lit up both times we visited. The first time we looked for the restaurant, we passed it initially because we couldn’t see the sign at night. I informed the manager during the second visit, and he thanked me, saying he did not know the sign wasn’t lit. Hopefully it is now! 2) Their fountain drink lids did not fit on the cups they had. I guess they had ordered the wrong ones? Not a big deal, but kind of strange. 3) The manager insisted he was right about the schnitzel wrap he made when it clearly wasn’t the one we had ordered. Overall, Seven Hens in Decatur gets 4 stars for their delicious, creative, and fresh chicken schnitzel sandwiches! The employees were friendly during both visits — even the manager who thought he made the wrap that we had ordered was polite as he stood his ground. Price-wise, I would have to agree with other Unilocalers that the regular price — about $ 10 for a sandwich, fries, and drink combo — is a bit steeper than you would expect from a «fast casual» restaurant like Seven Hens. However, I do feel that the quality and taste of the ingredients that go into the sandwich are worth the price. The hubs and I are officially fans of Seven Hens and will definitely be back!(I still want to try the«Chinese» schnitzel wrap!)

Food 7.49 $ Chicken Parmesan. They really skimped out on the cheese and Marianna sauce for me. It was the special. My friend that works in the food industry tell me to never order the special. That’s how they get rid of soon to expire food and sell to suckers… My lady ordered the Mexican and it had a spicy chipotle sauce which was delicious. They also seemed to skimp out on the lettuce. The chicken itself was fried golden brown and delicious. The portion size is comparable to Subway. I refuse to eat at Subway because of PTSD. I think it’s a better deal to order your custom schnitzel for $ 5.99 and go from there. Be cheap and order all the free toppings. Décor Looks like a Subway. Service The cashier was confused of my Amazon Local coupon. Yes I know Amazon is shutting down Amazon Local. Do not question the coupon! Otherwise decent service. Would I come here again? Probably. My go to quick bite is still Mediterranean Grill a few doors down. It’s cheaper and slightly more healthy.

Delicious schnitzel po’boys — it’s not how they’re described on the menu, but that’s pretty much what you’re getting at Seven Hens. I also label them as such to distinguish them from fried chicken subs you might order at your local supermarket or sandwich fast food chain. Chicken schnitzel, which is the staple item of Seven Hens, is served in either baguettes or wraps. The standard«build your own» schnitzel is $ 5.99(+ tax) and includes an assortment of free toppings(lettuce, tomatoes, onions, green peppers, mushrooms, mayo, BBQ sauce, or the«SH» spicy sauce). Premium sauces and toppings(chipotle aioli, fried egg, dill-caper sauce) are available for $ 0.50 to $ 1.00 per sauce or topping. There are also signature schnitzels, which are custom combinations that can be purchased as sandwiches, platters, or salads. The vegetables are very fresh. The chicken schnitzel is definitely way better than the standard chicken tender usually served on a fried chicken sandwich. The breading is thin but crunchy. Also, the meat is juicy. Whole pieces of chicken are cut into pieces immediately before addition to your sandwich. The SH sauce is only slightly spicy, but there is a little, pleasant kick to the sauce. My baguette was good, but if Seven Hens tweaked the bread to make it a little better, I’d be inclined to add an extra star. Parking at this Seven Hens location requires patience. To maximize space, there isn’t any room to navigate between the aisles of the parking lot — so you’ll be turning in and out of Clairmont Road/North Decatur Road. Best bet– start searching for spaces in the aisle further away from the storefront.

After posting about an experience where my food had been less then fully satisfying the owner reached out to me. I came back, since I wasn’t against eating there at all, and tried again at his recommendation. I do have to say that the flavor was very different and tasty. It lead me to update the review since then. I had gone through a long list of reviews that day and was happy to see his care as a practice owner and willingness to make sure his customers were happy. So after all the places I mentally revisited I made a stop here again to try and was pleased. It really is a place to find some good flavor. Just not sure what happened at the other trip. Thanks for the return invite. :)

Seven Hens serves up various forms of schnitzel. What is a schnitzel, you ask?(From their website)…“A schnitzel is the method of tenderizing meat by pounding it thin, breading it, then frying it until it’s crunchy on the outside and super juicy on the inside.” The restaurant use all-natural chicken raised in GA for their schnitzels. The chicken contains NOHORMONES and NOSTEROIDS and is CAGE-FREE. They have crafter several styles of schnitzel based on global cuisines… American, Mexican, Italian, French, Chinese, German, Indian, or a seasonal variety. You can order a sandwich on a baguette or wrap. You can also get a platter or salad. I had a $ 12 voucher and opted for the Chinese on baguette. I wanted wheat, but they were out so I had white bread. The Chinese inspired schnitzel comes with gingery Chinese mayo and sweet teriyaki glaze with Chinese 10 spice. I also ordered a side salad and fries. My schnitzel was so very good. The baguette was definitely thick. Perhaps I would choose a wrap next time. It was a lot of bread. With the sides, I could only eat half the sandwich. The fries were seasoned nicely and were cooked fresh and hot. The salad was small it was only $ 2.50. The cashier was really nice. We discussed the different flavors and he even let me try a couple things to see if some of the other flavors would suit my taste. Cool.

Great place for sandwiches. They have schnitzel(fried chicken) sandwiches that you can dress with your«country.» You can also ask for grilled chicken instead. We’ve tried the American, Chinese, German, and Italian sandwiches and they are all pretty good. The sweet potato fries are also pretty good but they are really salty so I recommend getting it without the salt sprinkled on top. Located in a small strip mall with plenty of free parking. $ 1 off combos for Emory students and employees.

I originally found this restaurant on Scoutmob(50% off your meal up to $ 7.00). It also had great reviews on Unilocal so I had to try it! When we walked in, we were quickly greeted by employees working there. None of us had ever been there before so it took us a while to order. It exceeded all my expectations! There’s so many different combinations to choose from! Everything is made with their famous Schnitzel chicken which is breaded/fried chicken breast. You can have it anyway you’d like in a wrap, hoagie, salad or you can build your own. They also have many types of flavors as you can see below: American Indian Italian French Mexican(Spicy) Chinese German Etc. I ordered the Italian as a wrap and it was perfect! The gentleman taking my order explained how the menu worked and which additional toppings I could add on at no additional charge. I added green peppers and mushrooms. The pesto sauce and roasted tomato aioli sauce were incredibly tasty. If you don’t want all the bread and carbs, I’d go with the wrap. Prices are a bit high at about $ 8 per sandwich but you definitely get your money’s worth. I would definitely come back here again soon and highly recommend it.

It’s an original concept. I like that. I want to encourage that. Here’s how it works. You get a chicken sandwich(thin-pounded, breaded, and fried) on either a wrap or bread. You pick a nationality to spice things up, or you can do an alacarte free for all with their toppings. I did the Indian one. It was quite yummy, and the fries on the side were good. Make sure you get that sriracha mayo for the fries, that was a highlight. I think they could have been more daring with the spices… not a lot of that Indian flavor came through, but the chicken itself was crispy and satisfying. I only ate half the sandwich, took the rest home and the Hubs devoured it cold. I thought the atmosphere was fine, unlike some other reviews. The signs are cute and appealing. It’s not a place you’d want to hang out and linger, but it’s a lunch place… get your food, talk to your office buddies, and haul your butt back to your desk. My only complaint is that I think they need to rethink the price point. I’m not a cheapskate, but I don’t expect to spend $ 11 for a sandwich and fries unless it’s at a full-service place.

Hubby and I were looking for something different to eat on a budget and I pulled out my Scoutmob app and we arrived at Seven Hens. Tucked in a small shopping center off N Decatur Rd, we venture in after doing some serious maneuvers to park. Seven Hens is not huge in size but it has character. We were pleasantly greeted and proceeded to order the Indian and Mexican schnitzel on a baguette. Once the ordered was ready, it was visually appealing, but unfortunately, looks can be deceiving. When you have a sandwich with sauce, you need a certain kind of bread to soak up the flavors without getting soggy. I think if the chicken was seasoned and marinated to distinguish the different flavors before frying; the taste would be better than throwing a flavored seasoning on it after it is cooked. I did not care for the Indian schnitzel, but the Mexican schnitzel was decent. The fries were good. I don’t care to eat at an establishment when I think I could have made this so much better at home and this was the case with Seven Hens. Our dinner was not worth the drive or the time, but they seem to have a steady stream of customers. Most of the reviews I saw were favorable. Seven Hens did not please my taste buds, but that does not make them a bad restaurant. I gave 3 stars because the customer service made up for the distasteful schnitzels.

I didn’t even realize this place existed but I always search for places that can deliver to my bum tendencies. I’ve tried the American Schnitzel sandwich and the regular German Schnitzel platter here. Pretty darn good, yes, it is a breaded fried chicken cutlet, not some magical take-me-away-to-chicken-land fantasy meal. not sure what people are expecting, lol. The American sandwich has BBQ sauce(even though it was delivery, I was so happy the lettuce and sliced tomatoes were fresh, I hate getting wilted lettuce or mealy mush tomatoes) and the German has sauerkraut with tangy sauce on the side. The sweet potato fries, omg, yum. like a giant crinkle cut humongous portion of fries. Perfectly cooked and just enough chicken, and fresh ingredients, I was told by the delivery guy that the Mexican and the Italian Schnitzel are better, so if I someday get the urge for fried food, I might just try those next.

Absolutely nothing to complain about here — wonderfully tasty sandwich with nice breading on the chicken, McDonaldsesque fries(that’s a good thing), friendly service, nice space if a bit stark and not too expensive. As good as it gets for a sandwich shop.
