Giving 4-stars because the wine concept is truly unique! However, there were a few things that need improvement. Staff was polite, there were two ladies working that evening. The wines featured were old-world from France, Italy and Spain. Good variety and interesting. We were the only ones in the place at the time, so we were able to spend a lot of time at the wine dispensers. We had to call over to hostess to place our food order. Then, we noticed at the bottom of the menu that you have to go up to the stand to order food.(hmm???) We wondered why she didn’t just come by our table if we were the only ones there and there was nothing else for her to do? The chips with Gorgonzola and bacon on the menu were really kettle cooked chips emptied out of a bag, topped with cheese and bacon, and probably heated up to get melty. We weren’t really expecting kettle cooked chips out of a bag, but something more like house-made thick cut potato chips. The dish was very salty. My friend ordered the chicken pesto panini and it was very good. For dessert we walked up to the stand to place the order. The dessert crêpe we tried was delicious! You can’t go wrong with banana and nutella. Overall the concept is great, and the space is very nicely decorated. We enjoyed the wine, and the ability to try so many different kinds without breaking the bank.

Adorable! Really a charming spot. The owners(more like hosts) are very friendly and make you feel right at home. We had a group of 4 and shared all our plates. Everything was yummy but the crepes really stood out — especially the ham/Brie/mushroom one. A small selection of well-Chosen wines in the dispensers. About 16 I think. Mostly reds, I assume because of the season, and most if not all from outside US. Would be a terrific spot for a book club, or a date night. I’ll be back! Note to owners: Only two missteps — 1. Lose the potato chips that come with the sandwiches. Serve a side salad instead — maybe a tabbouleh or something else interesting. Your spot is too cool and special for a pile of chips, plus the chips are wrong for your price point. 2. Serve the toasts for the cheese in a non-plastic bowl. Same reason.

My husband and I were looking for a nice little place for date night that was close to our home and we stumbled upon The Cask Room and boy are we totally stoked to have found this little gem! I love the self service wine concept! It allowed us the opportunity to try a few different wines at our leisure! We each tried a couple wines and we shared a cheese plate. All of the wines we had were superb and the cheeses on the cheese plate were the perfect accompaniment! Yara and Chris were amazing at explaining how everything worked and providing excellent service. We felt like we were with friends as opposed to being in a restaurant for the first time. The vibe was very cozy and welcoming! I cannot wait to return to try their menu offerings and go course try new wines! All and all an excellent experience!

Loved the ambiance here! The perfect place to gather, sip and chat! My only complaint was there wasn’t a large selection of wines. There were only 16 wine selections and only 4 were white wine choices. Overall, a cute spot to relax and unwind.

This is a very cute and quaint spot! The staff is friendly and helpful. A perfect place to gather with friends or a date! My only complaint is the minimal selection of white wines. Of the 4 cases of wine, which each held 4 wines to sample, only one case held white wines. None of them were Moscato, which is my favorite. Other than that, still a great place with great ambiance.

The crepes are good BUT the wine is outstanding. We were the only party there on a Thursday night. Not sure why but we had a blast.

This is a super fun place for a girls night or a date! You can get a swirl, half-glass, or full glass of any of 16 wines and will be charged accordingly. The prices are pretty good and the most expensive full glass was ~$ 12(but many were cheaper than this). These wines are from boutique wineries so once they’re gone, they’re really gone. Chances are you won’t find the same selection of wines any two times you go here. Only complaint was that there were only 4 white wines but maybe the ratio will be different if/when I go back. The employees are super nice and even let us sit around and chat well after they had closed and did not rush our group ever. The cheese plate was AMAZING and comes with endless little toasts that complement the cheeses very well. Also, the crêpe is very large and well worth the money!

We love it here. More people need to come from Downtown Decatur to visit. Yum and great vino!

We had a girls night out here for Tasting Tuesday(4 sips plus a crêpe for $ 10!). It was a really nice space to sit, talk, catch up, and the good food and wine also added a spark to the standard night out. The servers/owners are incredibly helpful, friendly and welcoming. An easy place to enjoy yourself with friends, a date, or a group. It definitely has style and you can dress up or down and feel relaxed.

A great concept carried out well. The wine dispenser allows Sip, Swirl or Savor pours. So, you can try a lot of bottles without over indulging. The wine selection is creative and delicious. The menu is somewhat limited but well executed. My wife and I really enjoyed our visit. I’d like to see an email or blog listing the wines currently available.

Okay, it’s a gimmick. But it totally works. We were looking for something new and different and came across this place tucked into a side of Homer Simpson Plaza(I LOVE that!). There are self service wine Slurpee machines(well, they’re not Slurpees, but the concept is the same — get your ass up and get your own wine). We had multiple Spanish ones(cuz that’s how we roll) and a kick ass charcuterie/cheese plate. We got some crepes, too and they made them gluten free. Class dismissed.

Cute little spot in Homer Simpson Plaza(as the locals call it– it’s home to a pizzeria, a donut shop, and a beer store). The Cask Room offers self-serve wine tasting through these neat little machines. Each customer is issued an access card(which I prefer to call a wine credit card!). When you want to sample some wine, you insert the card and choose between 16 types of wines. You can have a swirl(basically a tasting), a sip(a half glass), or a savor(a full glass). It’s neat because you can try a little of each wine before you commit to one. My friends and I went on Thirsty Thursday. Four tastes and a cheese or charcuterie plate for $ 15! Good deal.

My husband and I recently visited the cask room on «wine tasting Tuesday» and thoroughly enjoyed our night out. The Wilson and Deverell twins(owners) easily walked us through the use of their incredible wine dispensing machines. The menu of crepes, cheese and meat plates, and Panini sandwiches is excellent fair with the wonderful array of wines. We strongly recommend this new Decatur haunt for wine lovers seeking a nice night out! This was a great value! $ 10 for 4 wine tastings and a sweet or savory crêpe!
