Trackside Tavern

Not a bad place at all. Late night bar with good eats. The crowd is pretty varied so it’s a nice and comfortable setting. Nothing special but nothing bad. Just a good little bar.

Any bar that plays Sleep (Dragonaut/​Holy Mountian) is good by me! Big ups to Greg (aka) Kim’s brother! Great bar! Soon to be my new regular spot… 100% tips all day!

I went here on a Tuesday night with 2 friends for trivia! None of us had been here before but we figured we’d give it a try. I must say that trivia was fun and tough but it was our first time so we just had fun with it. We didn’t win but we had fun losing. The crowd here is a mix of the college students from the area and the locals that lived in the area. It was really funny to simply sit back and watch people. I saw folks in suits, folks with funny graphic tees and jeans (one of the bartenders wore a «666» shirt), and a good measure of tattoo’d but socially awkward people. The art work here is pretty cool and looks to be for sale. If I ever return, I probably wouldn’t mind finding a cool piece to bring home. I had a turkey burger with sweet potato fries as my entrée. I was satisfied with the burger and fries. The burger was actually bigger than i expected and they gave me a huge portion of sweet potato fries. The tater tots were quite tasty also. The service here is a bit sketchy simpy because you don’t have a waiter/​waitress. All food/​drinks have to be ordered at the bar. I waited a good while to order my food. I was passed over by the workers at the bar and usually had to go out of my way to get their attention to get help. Not only did we have to wait a good while to order but we had a substantial wait to close our tabs also. This alone is why i didn’t give this place 4 stars. They should look into getting wait staff. It would probably help the experience here. The food wasn’t great but wasn’t bad either and I can see how this would be a great local spot for regulars. I won’t go out of my way to revisit here but i won’t be mad if I happen to end up here on a future night either. I deem this a nice, serviceable middle of the road tavern.

Worst service I’ve seen in a long time! They would rather talk to their friends then take care of new paying customers!

Love the atmosphere and great service. Went around 11pm and the services was pleased and patient. It’s my first time and I started to love coming back again. Their food is splendid and is well worth.

Me and my friend came here last night after going out to eat and we wanted to drink and play air hockey.
It was a nice crowd playing bingo, drinking and playing darts. They had my favorite beer at the moment, which is Creature Comforts Tropalina IPA on draft. Bartenders were SUPER nice!
We def. will be back to eat and hang out here more — especially since its AIR HOCKEY HERE!!!

Trackside is our neighborhood bar. We love it here. The bartenders are friendly and courteous without being overly so, and they know how to make a good drink. We love the fact that the place is usually not packed, and we can take our time playing billiards or darts while getting sloshed. We also are music fans and their music selection is on point. Great beer selection too. I love the FAFATL artist collection showcase they have on their brick walls, I’m always tempted to spend all my $$$ on them when I go.
The food we’ve had here has always been ordered while intoxicated, but even still I remember them to be yummy:
— Greek gyro
— Teriyaki green beans
— Chili
— Fried zucchini
— Fried pickles
Overall great bar, great atmosphere, great drinks, and great service.

My roommates practically live here. Me, not so much, but I come once in a while — it’s ok. The bartender’s are quick and accommodating, drinks are pretty good and the food isn’t bad, either. Outside, there’s picnic tables to sit on and smoke cigarettes/​socialize and there’s 2 pool tables if you like to play pool. It’s very much a ‘regulars’ type of place, you go there and see the same people over and over and over. There’s nothing really WRONG with it, per say, it’s just not my scene — it’s got kind of a biker/​hipster dive-​bar vibe to it, so if that’s your scene, this is the place for you. It’s just not mine.
Update: I’m giving it 4 stars now because the food is amazing and the place has grown on me in recent months.

This is a great dive bar with strong drinks, pool tables, darts, and best of all: an Art wall for local artists. I go here often and will continue.

Great wrap-​around bar.
Pool tables, darts.
Interesting art work on the walls.
Music is good (Rush, etc.) but not too loud.
No service at the tables — have to order from the bar.
Very good beer list.
Food is good so far.
Friendly bartender.

Great little dive bar. Good group of people. Pool tables, dart boards, all the fun stuff drunk us enjoy.
The one item on the menu that was my favorite: the wings. Probably the best wings I’ve had in a long time. They make the sauce in house. A little warning tho: get the medium, unless you don’t line to enjoy the wings ;)

Great dive bar to come and hang out at. Good food, cold drinks, darts, pool, tvs, and AIR HOCKEY. Can’t beat that. Never had a bad time at Trackside. The tots are awesome here (you’d be surprised, there are people that mess up tater tots!). The bartenders are all super friendly and work their asses off, even when it gets super busy, to make sure you’re happy.
I love the local art hanging around and the atmosphere. It’s great to be able to hang out with some friends and play some rounds of air hockey in an awesome spot.

You’re an idiot if you think this quintessential local dive bar isn’t the shizz.
You only get kicked out if you break the rules, the drinks are inexpensive, the food is good, and there’s a wonderful lack of douchebaggery.
I’d live here if my wife and child were cool with it.

Same old great place. We went there after the fire renovation and felt like nothing changed but only the décor got better. Same feeling and same great people. We live close by and it is our Togo place for drinks. Food can be good as well.

Love their salad. Love the back area, very quiet.

A man couldnt ask for more out of a bar, its a mile from my place so i can drink like a fish and crawl home if need be. Foods always great and if your not a jerk to the staff theyll take care of you

Five Stars to Trackside.
Longtime local bar that was its infancy when I was a student at Agnes Scott in 1986. Since then, it has continued to improve and today has become a cornerstone of the local community.
The drinks are always good, the food is always good, the vibe is always good. And there is an outside smoking porch with picnic tables and TV screens.
What’s not to love???

Josh (baseball hat, black hair), and Steve (blonde) are the best bartenders! Josh and I will hug when I see each other, Steve is more quiet and reserved.
My dorm room for three years was straight across from this place and I would walk over there many times after I turned 21 (I came to college after the fire). There is something so romantic about a bar you walk to on cold winter nights alone.
FOOD N DRINKS: They always have shot specials, and they’re ham n cheese sandwich is the best one I’ve ever had.
PEOPLE: This is definitely a guy bar. Men outnumber women in this bar 10:1.
DECATUR: Out of all the places in Decatur, this is the most relaxed and down to Earth.
BOTTOM LINE: This is my favorite hangout spot in Decatur. Go there!

Was distraught to hear that this place burned down, but ecstatic when they reopened. It is definitely a different bar compared to how it used to be, but at the same token, not much has changed. I think the menu is damn good and much better than typical bar food. I love the fact they don’t have servers — you order at the bar — and that the prices include tax. What’s better than a bar open till 4 am on the weekends, and that too with a killer jukebox? Not too much …

I used to come a lot when I was in college, before the fire. Then I came because it was open later than ATL bars. It was what it was, a dive bar with really rude bar tenders.
Now it still wants to be a dive, but its actually really nice inside. Also, the bartenders are really nice now.
Service is great, but kinda not still. If you sit at a table, you have to go to the bar for everything. Its just weird, if you have booths and serve food, you are kinda obligated to have servers. That is why it gets 3, not 4 stars. I usually sit at the bar anyways, but when my dad was in town for the holidays, we sat at a table. I was pretty shocked that they still just yell at you that they wont serve you and you have to come to the bar and order.
The food is really good for bar food the service has improved with leaps and bounds. Just go if you want to sit at the bar.
