I’ve eaten at the hotel for Deck the Halls fund raiser, Johnny Rockets show, our Christmas lunch. Absolutely the worst 3 meals I ever had. It was terribly over priced. A hamburger, dessert, water cost $ 21& the banquet food was over $ 25 a cold meal.

This place may not be Michelin three-star, but Restauration’s quality of cooking definitely makes it a Unilocal five-star. The food is simply great, especially at its moderate price point. Dishes are sophisticated but accessible. They’re also well-conceived, lovingly wrought, carefully expedited and proudly served. Clearly, the kitchen is run by a real pro. Oh, and portions are generally enormous. On my last visit, I had the nightly special, Hungarian Goulash, the epitome of fall comfort food — rich and meaty, soulful, soppable and generous. Moreover there’s probably no better place in the city to enjoy a pork chop. I also liked the charcuterie platter featuring Iowa meats and cheeses(say what you will about Iowa, but this is a state that know meat and cheese). Decorah is lucky to have a restaurant of this caliber. Actually, any city would be.

Food was great and they had a decent tap list! I would love to give them 5 stars but they lose a star for service. We had to wait a while to order & i had an empty glass for far too long the server even came to our table & didnt ask if I wanted another.
